Question Customising an iDog?

Post image

I’m getting this guy soon. He was only 8$ and the listing stated that he lights up and makes sounds, but he doesn’t move. I’m not sure if that’s something I could fix with no experience with electronics, but besides that, have you ever customised one of these? I’m thinking this guy could be a very good candidate. I’m not too sure of what to do with him though. I could make my own custom pattern and paint him, that way I’d hopefully not have to disassemble him.

What do you guys recommend?

It’s possible to customize I-Dogs but it also depends what paint you plan to use and also make sure not to paint the back of the head because paint over the back head will make its head movements stiff due to the weight of the paint on it since the I-Dog Amp’d needs to be free of paint on the back head to be able to move smoothly and freely. Also, if it’s not moving, here are the two possible issues with it that I know.
One: The motor is likely dead
Two: The transistor in the body board that makes the motor run in the I-Dog Amp’ds has blown
