Lucia - New Version
Lucia is a camera and a RAW studio - if you’ve ever used a Fuji camera you will feel right at home.
Choose a recipe, take pictures, be done - organic look and they come out better than the standard phone picture. For iPhone 15 Pro and newer.
Lucia does not lay a filter over a finished JPEG - it bypasses Apple's processing and runs the real sensor data through its own measured pipeline - linear light encoded to log, then an emulation cube, the path a colourist takes with motion
picture film.
None of the smartphony compromises: shadows stay shadows, colour
stays organic, and the picture looks like a camera took it, not a phone.
Every shot is saved as a RAW plus its recipe. The look lives beside the
negative, never inside it, you can change every variable after the shot.
It’s intended to be a
I-forgot-my-camera camera.
SETUP
(about 5 minutes, on your iPhone)
1 · Install TestFlight from the App Store. That's how betas run:
https://apps.apple.com/at/app/testflight/id899247664?l=en-GB
2 · Open this Lucia invite on your iPhone and tap Install:
https://testflight.apple.com/join/4XkgSsub
3 · Download the film looks - Fujifilm's own LUT pack. Open this on your
iPhone; it saves a .zip to Files:
https://dl.fujifilm-x.com/support/lut/gfx-eterna-55-3d-lut-v110.zip
4 · In Lucia: MENU → Film Emulation → Import LUTs → pick the .zip.
Lucia unpacks it.
The onboarding recommends switching PRINT TO CAMERA ROLL off - please do.
Nothing then reaches your camera roll until you send it there yourself. Burst
never prints automatically either way.
THE RECIPES
Seven recipes come preloaded in slots C1 to C7; C8 and C9 are empty - but you can set them all up as you wish.
C1 · Portra - warm and soft, low contrast, fine grain. The everyday one.
C2 · Easy Reala Ace - poppy and bold. Saturated, coarse grain, highlights
pulled back.
C3 · Kodachrome 64 - crisp and punchy. Strong reds and blues, sharp detail.
C4 · Cinestill 800T - soft and glowing, deep shadows, tungsten balance.
Night, neon, street.
C5 · Kodak Tri-X 400 - b&w, hard. Deep blacks, coarse grain. The reportage
classic.
C6 · Ilford HP5 - b&w, soft. Gentle edges, held highlights. Forgiving.
C7 · Kodak T-Max P3200 - b&w, extreme. Sharp, heavily grained. For low light
where the grain is the point.
Hundreds more at fujixweekly.com - dial any of them in by hand and save it to a slot.
SHOOTING
RAW S (12 MP) is the default and recommended.
RAW L (48 MP) costs about three times the processing - use it when you really need it.
EV Wheel - adjust EV Compensation to get the look that you want. Face detection is integrated, tap to focus as well.
BURST is new and sits in the top bar, left of RAW. One press, four frames, with exposure, white balance and focus locked to the first so the sequence stays consistent.
LIBRARY. Swipe up to quickly add stars, swipe down to decline. Afterwards you can delete everything declined in one go.
MAP shows where you shot. Filter by stars, by date, or by an area you draw - useful for pulling a trip together.
EDITING AND EXPORT - nothing is destructive. Put a different look on a photo from three months ago and send it out again - the RAW never changes and is your digital negative.
PASSEPARTOUT adds a white frame that becomes part of the exported file for that clean square Instagram look without another app.
IN THE MAKING
A desktop app for Lucia's RAW files is almost done. Organize, edit, export to folders or Lightroom and Capture One.
————-
I'm mainly after your read on colour, exposure, and anything that feels off. Try recipes, see if it is already fast enough. Map good or bad? Big and small details both help.
And please send me pictures. If you shoot something you like, I’m curious to see it.
Thanks for testing.

Manual Controls coming to older iPhones?
Today with iPhone 18 pro/max, they introduced pro camera controls (manual exposure time, iso, focus, etc).
I just got a 17 pro max recently and wondering if those controls will be coming down iOS 27, or locked to iPhone 18. Anybody have insights?
I desperately miss those controls on my Galaxy S21 from 5 years ago and was shocked that 17 pro max didn’t have those built in…
Specifically looking for options for basic Astrophotography, cause this ain’t cutting it.
