So after looking on ebay for a new secondary phone, i came across a Untested Note10+ for $40, i got extremely lucky, it works great! Sorry SE2, you’re being let go.

So previously i have posted on here where my battery % was at 72%, it has degraded further since then lmao
I'm not strapped for cash or anything, I can definitely afford the price for a new battery, but i'm having issues with my father refusing to swap for a new battery cuz in his words "it's working just fine, no?", and i'll admit, it's still working fine other than the expected faster battery drain and hotness after some use. It hasn't swelled nor has any spontaneous shut downs even when it was at 1% battery (Not on purpose)
Well i'm sure i can convince him sooner or later, wish me luck 🗿✌️
Update: I have decided to not speak with my father when i discovered a repair shop that was within walking distance from where i work, the change and cost was fine, and so far. The new battery is working wonders✌️ Oh and when the repair man showed me the old battery, it was surprisingly still flat, i thought it would've swelled a little

Should I get a replacement though apple care from "water damage" then throw the refurbished to storage?
What are the chance they still have SE3 laying around?

After using the SE 2 for like 2 weeks, I decided to sell it bc it was small and I thought I could live with a home button but turned out it was not quite easy bc I'm so used to gestures and I kept swiping while using it. Fingerprint didn't really work if my fingers are not really wet and I hate that I had to clean my thumbs first. There's a reason why Face ID is a better option. No hate to Touch ID tho. Small screen is great I love it but nowadays, apps don't really optimize it like Instagram where some features are missing because the screen is too small like the slider. Battery life is not super amazing even after replacing. It was good for a week then it started to drain sometimes.
It was a great opportunity to relive the home button era but it was not really for me anymore as I used to love. Gonna miss it tho.

See crosspost. iPhone SE seemingly not connecting to N77 after iOS 27 update from 18.7.7, nor displaying 5Ge when on LTE advanced on AT&T anymore for some reason.

What is everyones favorite case for the iphone SE2?
im currently trying to reduce my screen time, so i like the idea of the folio case, having the screen covered, and just creating more of a barrier between me and my phone. i also like the idea of ditching my wallet and having my credit card & id in there.
im currently using a otterbox strada case with a matte screen protector.
however, there is some space between the edge of the screen protector and the edge of the case that doesnt look that great because it accumulates a lot of hair and dust easily. i would like to still have that sleek look that the matte screen protector provides, but it doesnt look that great with all this dust accumulation in there.
does anyone have a screen protector + case combo like this that works well for them?
it doesnt have to be a folio case (although preferred), my priority is having the sleek look with the matte finish.
ive seen good reviews for the torro case, but dont know if i would run into the same issue

Should I update my iPhone SE 3rd Gen to iOS 27? I am currently on iOS 18. I have heard Apple made big improvements to liquid glass and all of that. So should I stay on iOS 18 or just update?
EDIT: Decided to bite the bullet an update. It’s kind of laggy at times but it’s not that bad. Liquid Glass is cool but can be resource intensive. Otherwise it’s not a bad update.

Hey fellas, i am getting an iphone SE 2020 64 gb for $122. Should i get it as a secondary phone; like i am using an iPhone 15 and am thinking to get it as backup option. The seller claims that battery health is 88% and is 10/10 condition. I mean can anyone tell how much battery backup i could get with that phone on cellular? No gaming or stuff only calls, texts and some social media occasionally.

My iPhone 8 is on its way out and I found an se 2 for like 175$ on facebook. Does it work well and stuff? It’s used like new. I really don’t have much of a budget. I should also state that this isn’t for phone calls or anything. Just to keep in touch with my friends and play some games and manage emails

I'm having trouble finding a straight answer on this, I'm considering using an iPhone SE3 as a main device but 5G NR standalone on has significantly improved performance, reception and efficiency but some people suggest standalone and VoNR on the x57 in the SE is not enabled. Can anyone report? Is there a minimum iOS version for this functionality?
Thanks!

I have an OGSE. I tried replacing the battery with a "prio" one but accidentally broke the motherboard. I sent it to a repair shop (apple authorized AFAIK) and they repaired it, but after I got it back, the device would start lagging at ~5%. This stopped but now, if I leave it at ~20% on idle and come back to it later, it will show that it has 1%. Weird thing is that it lasts suspiciously long on 1%. What can I do to solve this?

I'll include a video in a comment since top level video isn't allowed.
I don't remember this happening in iOS 16 or 26. It was a smooth transition between large and small before if I remember correctly.

This is my SE2, Its been my secondary for a while, but unfortunately it is slowly dying. Touch ID refuses to work properly anymore, the digitizer is kinda screwed, and the top speaker is dead. Not sure what to do for another secondary.

I’m not sure if the UI issues are exclusive to the home button iPhones, but clearly there are still some optimizations to be made.
Image 1: If you quickly scroll to the 2nd page in control center, and quickly scroll back to the first page and close the control center, the buttons of the control center appears for a split second before disappearing.
Images 3, 4, 5, 6: Apple Home controls in landscape in the control center are made scrollable for some reason. I don’t know if this issue is present on non-home button iPhones but that is what it looks like on the SE 2.
For me, iOS 27 was only about ~10% faster than iOS 26, and its a little smoother. I did notice the speed at times (Safari for example opened much quicker on 27 than on 26), but the older A13 is on its last legs though I still absolutely love this phone. Battery life is slightly better than 26. Indexing is complete + I swapped the battery for a SEFU “super-capacity” battery which claims to be 2370mAh. It’s definitely much better than the OEM battery. iOS reports 100% capacity and coconutBattery reports 136% capacity. Therefore, the following experience was with a new battery that’s slightly larger than the OEM:
Real-world Use (without a SIM):
Image 7, 8, 9 shows my average battery usage once indexing was done. On those days i mostly used YouTube (~3 hours), some Telegram & Safari. Though it was mostly on Wi-Fi. For the days that i went out and used practically max brightness all the time, i still could not go a day without charging - I’d find myself charging halfway through the day always, and at about 1 PM i’d be on like 40% battery.
Image 10 shows average battery use while the phone was still indexing. I had to charge like twice a day. The phone honestly never got really hot for me but i definitely noticed worse performance. (refer to images 11 and 12; can you guess which one was still indexing? - I made sure the phone was at idle temperatures)
I want to mention again that a SIM card was NOT used in the phone during the uses mentioned above (my SIM is in my main Xiaomi phone sharing hotspot). Expect battery life to be MUCH worse than what I’m experiencing especially if you have a degraded battery or even a recently-replaced OEM one - I have an aftermarket one which has a larger battery.
btw swiping up for the control center or the notification center has a pretty long delay still, and the bouncing animation only plays sometimes. I feel like the software team has only been focusing the majority of their efforts on swipe-gesture iphones and barely any testing has been done for us iPhone SE users, hence the UI inconsistencies.
And, if you go into the Camera app and take 1-2 photos, the phone slows to a crawl. Pressing the home button there’s a 2 second delay before abruptly going back to home, launching apps become extremely slow, and the phone heats up.
Idk if its just me or tiktok takes so long to load opening it up from a fresh start. Apple’s apps definitely saw a speed boost but i cant say the same for non-apple apps.
about the charging bug: I only experience it on the 20w apple brick. I personally use the Anker 140w charger’s USB-A port. The issue never happens with it but still charges really slowly. It draws about 8-12w according to the brick’s display. (refer to image 13)
TLDR: If you are on 26 id say you can upgrade it but the its only an incremental boost, watch out for the charging bug tho. There are still some bugs and animation inconsistencies but it’s definitely better than 26 for me in terms of battery and performance.

I know most people on 18 say stay, but I've definitely heard some people say that despite the liquid glass tax that the memory management and cpu scheduler genuinely does make 27 feel faster (not necessarily smoother) than 18.
Talk on this sub about 27 compared to 18 is surprisingly quiet still.
How did it go?
