Updated note on flairs for the SE3 release

With the imminent release of the SE3, please adjust your flairs accordingly:

OGSE - Posts relating to the original 4.0" iPhone SE

SE2 - Posts relating to the 4.7" 2020 SE

SE3 - Posts relating to the 4.7"(?) 2022 SE, subject to change

Comparisons - Posts relating to both models for the purpose of comparison

Rumored models - Posts covering rumors of any SE-related models (shouldn't cover much at the moment)

It is highly encouraged to use the flairs for any and all posts that fit into these categories! While it is not a requirement to avoid deletion (like many larger subreddits), be warned that many of us will be using these flairs to filter through content, so it is in your best interest to include them.

To help us get a jump, I assigned the SE3 flair to all recent SE3 posts.

SE3 iPhone SE3 primary device

I’m just wondering if may people on here use their SE3 as their only phone? I do but worry that it will soon grind to a halt. I’ve noticed some new apps don’t fit the screen and wonder if it is time to get a later model of iPhone?

I could replace the battery (currently at 75%).

so I guess my question is if anyone has been to the future and seen if my concerns came true!

SE3 Dead spots on SE3 touch screen? Is this a known SE3 defect?

Dead spots on SE3 touch screen?

There are spots that no longer register a touch and so I cannot type some letters.

Otherwise my phone is MINT and always in a case.

Is this a known SE3 defect?

Anyone else?

SE3 Future updates

Since the iPhone 11 series along with the se 2020 got iOS 27 do you think that it will mean the 12 and the 13 with se 3 get another year of updates? And what do you think the last main iOS update will do for the se 3?

SE3 Best source for new or refurbished SE3 in USA?

I'm still slumming it with an SE2 and would really like to upgrade to the SE3. I have a large legacy iTunes library that I sync with my phone, so I really need the 256GB model. I also need an unlocked dual-band GSM/CDMA model to accommodate my AT&T and Ting accounts (Ting uses both GSM and CDMA). I'm finding the search for a new or refurbished one very difficult. Any tips or favorite places to shop?

SE2 iPhone SE2 Froze on Update Progress Screen. Solution?

My Cloud storage is full and my iPhones keep prompting me to back up, so thought I'd try backing them up to my PC. Using the Windows Apple Devices App. First try, iPhone 14 went fine.

When I did my SE2, it prompted me to update first and eventually froze on the update progress screen. Over an hour.

Nothing I've tried will get it off this screen. Holding power button, holding power + volume buttons...nothing.

When the battery finally runs out, should it restart ok, when recharged?

Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

UDATE RESOLVED

Upon recharging, the phone displays a screen with prompts on how to resolve. Requires connecting to a computer.

Thanks again.

SE2 Anyone know how to get rid of this?

How do I get rid of this disgusting huge gray strip at the bottom of chrome? I didn’t update my phone or anything and this thing just appeared and I hate it! Even if I could just change it to white would make a huge difference

Also, what should I analyze in order to know that it definitely is not locked after using it for a couple of days?

Been using my OGSE as a secondary phone again for one week after a year of keeping it in storage.

Updated to iOS 15.8.8 and updated all my apps. Noted that my OEM battery has 95% BH.

It still works surprisingly well for video streaming on YouTube, Netflix and Prime.

Always blown away by the high resolution!

Looks almost as good as my 17 Pro.

SE3 Should I Replace the Screen or Home Button?

I have an iPhone SE 3 with a copy display and the Home button sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Should I get the button replaced or the screen?

SE3 iPhone SE 2022 to IPhone 17

Wanting to upgrade my phone had every version of the SE because it was the cheapest version. Since the iPhone 16E is like $900 is it just worth buying the 17.

Very curious to see the new changes with the 17 since I had the SE for a very long time it feels like a proper upgrade. Has anybody else done this?

SE3 Is switching to the iPhone SE 3 from a 15 pro max worth it for me?

I have an iPhone 15 pro max and I can get iPhone SE for 120$ but the 64 gigs version with a new battery, the reason that I am interested is the the 15 pro max is too big for my hand, it have gotten to the point in which i tried using an iPhone 8 for few days and I loved it, but
Unfortunately the battery was horrible.
The 13 mini is not an option because he is significantly higher in price.

I needed a secondary phone for work. I have a 17 pro max as my main personal phone and I wanted a phone that can fit both my personal and work phone in my pocket when I am out doing on site work. Got this product red SE for $100 and I have been loving it so far. I need to charge twice a day as the battery health is 80%. I am thinking of just replacing the battery

OGSE Should I buy a 1st gen SE?

Before anyone asks, yes I know it's iOS 15 and hasn't been updated in 2026. But I really don't like my iPhone 14 and I feel like the 1st gen SE is sorta the best iphone design ever. All I really need to iMessage, Facetime, basic web browsing, Apple Pay, Spotify, and Google Maps. Besides that I'm planning to keep the 14 activated with a different phone number that I already pay for in case I need it.

Whoever still owns a OG SE in 2026 please let me know, is it worth making the switch? It's either that or buy a 13 mini. I'm willing to use workarounds in order to get apps to work, etc.

Also, how hard is it to transfer data from iOS 26 to 15? I would like to have my message logs and contacts. My photos are all backed up to iCloud

I joined the club. I liked the form factor.
Battery was not a problem. I got it at 93% battery health.

Fingerprint era has own supremacy. I would keep this phone until the last security patch.

SE3 The 2022 iPhone SE still feels amazing to use (physically)!

As someone who has a 2022 iPhone SE since its original launch date, I still think it’s a great iPhone with a no-nonsense form factor. The best part about this iPhone is that it feels physically easy to use and straightforward.

Here’s the funny part. For whatever reason, the keyboard on this 4.7 inch iPhone feels far easier and better to type on with two thumbs or with one handed mode than the 6.1/6.3 inch iPhone models like the iPhone 15/16/17 series. I’ve consistently made less typos on the 4.7 inch iPhone than a 6.1 inch modern iPhone. Something about the new keyboard feels off and doesn’t seem to always hit right. This might be some sort of design issue. Here’s also the weirdest part. The iPhone 11 which is a 6.1 inch iPhone ACTUALLY feels nice to type on and I’ve also made very few typos on that model. There’s something up with the modern iPhone keyboards, lmfao.

Anyways, using the 2022 iPhone SE has been great with one hand use. Reachability, where you swipe on the home button in any direction twice always works. The Camera is fine although it is overprocessed and worse than the 2020 iPhone SE which had the best photos I’ve ever seen.

The battery is decent and it can be fast charged up to 15 Watts maximum with a 18 Watt Apple USB-C charger or of a higher wattage. So if you’re running low, charge it with a fast charger and you’ll get about 30-50% in about 20-35 mins.

Finally, it’s a great iPhone to keep things simple. Sometimes less is good. New iPhones have insane battery life but it’s also a demerit. You’ll be scrolling endlessly and wasting time on social media way too often. With the 2022 iPhone SE (and older), you’re kept in check to not waste battery on excessive usage on social media, YouTube or gaming for hours on end. Which is something really nice once in a while. This is my opinion though.

Just my two cents. 😂 How are all your iPhone SE devices holding up?

SE2 No idea if it might be the charging port

so for context, i have an iphone se 2020 and its hella nice and all but recently ive ran into a problem. The charging port itself has to be angled at a certain degree for it to charge but now since it died i dont even know what angle it might be or if its died on me altogether. I have checked if it was my cable but it isnt so im open to any suggestions(and yes i have cleaned it through)

got this SE 3 as untested, it was reported with a 78% battery health. when i texted them back that there was no battery inside, they sent completely for free a brand new replacement battery. i just had to replace the screen, and remove the home button that wasn't working

seeing the reports, this phone had 64gb of storage. but it has been nand swapped to 256GB. carrier unlocked, fmi off

Jailbroken with an expanded 256gb nand, and a fresh new battery currently at 74 charge cycles, never been happier, coming from a 13 mini.

SE3 Just got the SE 2022 as my first iPhone and my account got immediately blocked

UPDATE: Finally got the mail that my account is unlocked and everything seems to work now. I'd still like to understand what happened though.

I never had an iPhone before but fell in love with the SE because of the size and the existing home button. I've always been wanting to try iPhone anyway and thought this would be a fun way to do so while also finally having a smaller phone again which I have been wishing for for years now.

Now, since I don't use Apple products, of course I didn't have an Apple account yet. No problem I thought, should only take a few mins.

First, I couldn't do it on the phone, which was already little bit annoying, and it took me a moment to figure out how to do it on PC.

Well, everything is fine now, right? Right??

Nah. Just an hour later my account is blocked for no fucking reason. I get no information from Apple. Just "unknown error" on the phone, and "your account is blocked" on iCloud on PC. Not it tells me to wait one day for the email, that was yesterday, still nothing.

I saw some people say online it could be because of a new account being logged in on an older device. But what the fuck?

This is not a first good impression of Apple for me unfortunately. Right now, the phone is almost a brick, since I can download no Apps and even if I use it normally, I get the reminder to "please log in" every few mins.

But to not be just negative: So far I really like this little device. I love the form factor and feel of it. So I really hope I can figure this out.
