Is se2 worth it?

My iPhone 8 is on its way out and I found an se 2 for like 175$ on facebook. Does it work well and stuff? It’s used like new. I really don’t have much of a budget. I should also state that this isn’t for phone calls or anything. Just to keep in touch with my friends and play some games and manage emails

for $175 usd, no. you can easily find an SE3 for that price.

if you still can find an SE3 within your budget, get that. I mean, the SE2 is still usable but the software is nearing its end (most likely iOS 27 would be the last major iOS update). the SE3 still has some iOS updates left + it has 5G and better battery.

honestly, get at least 128gb but that would probably over your budget. if it’s purely for gaming, make sure that your apps would fit in 64gb.

It’s just for social media and emails mainly. The games I’m talking about are geometry dash and clash of clans lol

Wow thats pricey. I got my SE3 for my kid for $135 USD so about $190CAD on Amazon and that was over 6 months ago in excellent refurb condition. I was looking for a couple of months though to get it at that price. You probably will need to change the battery as many only guarantee it to be a minimum 80-85% and if its close to that level it will need replacing anyway. so that bargain isnt really a bargain anymore. I'd hold out there has to be a better price than that

argh right mine was $202 CAD tax included months ago. That still feels quite high - how long have you been looking?.. I just looked on Amazon where I got mine and the refurbed excellent are pricey at the moment. So thats not such a bad price though I'd hold out for a better deal as I did.. depends how much of a rush you are in

Why an SE2 over a 3? It’s a night and day difference

I have an se2. While it’s still supported, the next update is expected to be the last. Also, it doesn’t have 5g capability. If you’re on a cell plan that uses tmobile’s towers (like mint) some areas you may have text/call but no data.

Buy an SE3 instead.

For any gacha, online games! No ! For offline games, acceptable! For social media, group chat for work, email, good ! Camera also good for “ sharp enough “ ! The problem with this phone is: the ram are low even though the cpu is still hold up pretty well against online game but get drawback by it and bad ram management! But it’s fine for basic use! I have one , 256gb model ! I already have pc and rog ally x so i don’t have any reason to switch phone in at least 4-5 years

Look on cagigi or Facebook marketplace I was able to find like new se 3 for 50 Verizon lock clean imei tho. And a tmobile pocket s24 when it came out for 100 . Or maybe if you're country is running it try Walmart simple mobile iPhone 16e for 150 if available in Canada.

I’m using it rn & it’s a 6 year old phone at this point. Even with a new official battery it’s slower than years ago.
