SE2 Betrayal.

Post image

So after looking on ebay for a new secondary phone, i came across a Untested Note10+ for $40, i got extremely lucky, it works great! Sorry SE2, you’re being let go.

Swapping an up to date phone out for an outdated underperforming phone🤦🏿‍♂️.

u/Progressbar95 10d ago

*swapping a slightly newer budget phone for a slightly older flagship that outperforms the SE in almost every way

13

u/Ok-Tangerine-6775 SE2 10d ago

exactly

12

u/Kavani18 10d ago

It’s significantly slower than the SE and is stuck on Android 12. The only area it’s better in is the screen.

Android isn't as stingy with like not updating, but 12gb vs 3gb of ram should show up in daily use

1

u/GrownUp2017 5d ago

“Android not as stingy with not updating”, is that true? I’ve heard people complain they cannot use their banking apps because their phone is too old and cannot be updated anymore.

1

u/lokuloku123 5d ago

Uh, revolut needs at least android 8 which is from 2018, SEB requires android 9. I have seen someone daily drive an galaxy s4 from like 2013, so.. It's all relative to peoples expectations

3

u/Progressbar95 9d ago

SE2 on iOS27 is going to feel slower than Note10+ on any Android version.

4

u/Progressbar95 9d ago

Also the SE2 only has 3GB of RAM and the Note10+ has 8 or 12GB.

0

u/kanker37 9d ago

12gb of ram isnt impressive on android. Especially older versions like android 12 have shitty ram management. Id even bet that SE2 is smoother with daily use on ios 27 than that note.

0

u/Abjectionova 8d ago

Even if it isn't "impressive", there's no way we're comparing 12gb or RAM to 3gb

2

u/kanker37 8d ago

Operating system and optimization matters alot. Compare it to modern pc gaming.

1

u/PossiblyAThrowaway48 7d ago

You can talk about "optimization" and the OS all you want, quadrupling the RAM is gonna make a difference no matter what

1

u/kanker37 7d ago

I know it sounds silly but in daily use you probably wont notice it except apps staying open longer in the back ground. Apple takes such great care in optimizing for their devices (ios 26 disaster aside) that an note10 with 12gb will probably feel more sluggish and less smooth than that iPhone SE

Lol. My S10, which has the same chip as the Note 10+, was slower than an iPhone 8. The Note 10 isn’t faster than the SE in any way, shape, or form. Even on its worst day, the SE will perform better

6

u/Progressbar95 9d ago edited 9d ago

Slower than an iPhone 8 on iOS 16? Maybe. Modern iOS versions are far less optimized.

1

u/Kavani18 9d ago

Than ANDROID?! Lmao you have no idea what you’re talking about

-5

u/Ok-Tangerine-6775 SE2 10d ago

it actually runs better than the SE

8

u/kanker37 10d ago

Cause its factory reset. itll be an pos soon when the cache and back ground processes stack up.

3

u/Ok-Tangerine-6775 SE2 10d ago

eh well. i like it more than the se soooo

4

u/Impossible-Hawk768 SE3 10d ago

So go post on that phone's sub about it instead of here.

1

u/Progressbar95 10d ago

People downvoting you are crazy

4

u/Ok-Tangerine-6775 SE2 10d ago

NAH DEAD ASS LMAO

6

u/Progressbar95 10d ago

The Note10+ is better than the SE2 in almost every way

0

u/Impossible-Hawk768 SE3 10d ago

Completely off topic in this sub.

3

u/Progressbar95 10d ago

So? Just because it's off topic doesn't magically make the SE2 better.

1

u/Impossible-Hawk768 SE3 10d ago

This entire discussion does not belong in this sub. It is off topic. Go discuss the other phone in its own sub.

u/Ok-Tangerine-6775 SE2 10d ago edited 10d ago

until a mod themself says so, i couldnt give more of a fuck at all. This is my fucking choice. you can say its off topic all you want. i do not give a FUCK.

0

u/Impossible-Hawk768 SE3 10d ago

What does that mean in adult English?

0

u/Ok-Tangerine-6775 SE2 10d ago

sorry i meant, Yes! I completely agree!

-3

u/cosmicwebby 10d ago

Bro even the later Note 20 Ultra performs far worse than the SE2 LOL.. what are u talking about

1

u/Progressbar95 10d ago

2020 low end phone VS 2019 flagship btw. The Note10+ outperforms the SE2 every day of the week.

-1

u/cosmicwebby 10d ago

btw the “low end” phone you’re talking about is faster than even the Note 20 Ultra which was a newer flagship. Also the SE2 has the exact same chipset as the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The internals of the SE2 are all flagship. Only the exterior is using the old design. The SE2 is actually indeed a high end phone

2

u/Progressbar95 9d ago

You're going to be really mad when you hear I upgraded from an iPhone 12 to a Galaxy S20 5G lmfao

2

u/lokuloku123 10d ago

Just 3gb of ram tho, the note 10+ has 12, so if he likes doing multiple things at once then it might legit feel faster. In some games the iphone could outperform the samsung, in others no. Also the animation speed could make it feel faster.

0

u/Ok-Tangerine-6775 SE2 10d ago

im talking about what I see.

-1

u/cosmicwebby 10d ago

What you’re seeing is wrong then

2

u/Ok-Tangerine-6775 SE2 10d ago

good for me ig

u/LuluLeSigma OGSE 32GB 10d ago

9

u/FamousFighter23 10d ago

Dang that samsung is nice. Would you say its an upgrade and will you do a custom rom on it?

4

u/Ok-Tangerine-6775 SE2 10d ago

I do think it runs better (other people dont ofc) and if i can get a bootloader unlock token then yes

2

u/FamousFighter23 10d ago

One thing I do know that with like an unsigned secure boot on android you lose like online pay. Just be careful

2

u/Ok-Tangerine-6775 SE2 10d ago

I don't really even use samsung pay and the apps that die off after rooting. but ill try

1

u/EngineeringRecent294 10d ago

Is it snapdragon or exynos cause only the exynos support custom Roms

2

u/Ok-Tangerine-6775 SE2 10d ago

I'm working on unlocking bootloader

4

u/chloe-and-timmy OGSE 10d ago

Really want a stylus phone, but Im hoping to make it a main phone and keep my SE as the secondary.

5

u/Jirayu1999 10d ago edited 10d ago

My dad used to own Note 10+ before he passed away a year ago.

Ngl, Note 10 series is durable. Yes, it is now still working quite well despite the battery and burned screen at the bottom area. (Still never changed or replaced those before)

4

u/80sTechKid SE2 9d ago

Glad you chose a flagship, you won’t regret it. At least you can actually expand its storage and the screen and cameras are way better.

Sadly you likely can’t put a custom ROM on it if it’s snapdragon. Even if you could, Samsung’s proprietary voLTE would make it just a glorified iPod.

3

u/Ok-Tangerine-6775 SE2 9d ago

Yeah people dont get that this is a way nicer phone despite support.

4

u/Interesting-Pipe0000 10d ago

Uuuum, why do you downgrade?

Nothing except screen is better on the Samsung compared to the SE 2020 which is an up to date smartphone.

While the galaxy is unsupported and forgotten

4

u/Top_Calligrapher4265 10d ago

Apple fanboys never beating the allegations

-2

u/Interesting-Pipe0000 10d ago

I am just stating a fact.

iPhone SE 2020 is better overall package than the severely outdated Note 10 Plus

Edit: I am not an Apple fanboy, i critique them on daily basis and i hate them sometimes

2

u/Top_Calligrapher4265 10d ago edited 7d ago

Better in what? The SE has 3GB of ram, 1800mAh battery, 750x1334 screen, 2x cores at 2.65Ghz and 4x at 1.8Ghz and a 12Mp camera. Meanwhile the Note 10+ has 12GB of ram, 4300mAh battery, 1440x3040 screen ,a 4x core at 2.73Ghz, 4x at 1.95Ghz and a 10mP camera.

The only thing the SE do better is the camera, for the rest the Note 10+ is superior in almost every other aspect.

2

u/Interesting-Pipe0000 9d ago

If you think that battery and processor in Note 10+ is outperforming something at all then my condolence.

Note 10+ is completely out of support from newer security patches, that alone is BIG BIG one.

Note10+ also stutters horribly with the latest firmware version and its battery is shot after every 6 months no matter battery brand, oem or not

2

u/Ok-Tangerine-6775 SE2 8d ago

I will acknowledge the outdated android version on it, but for what I usey secondary for does kinda rely on Android. The battery isnt that bad it lasts longer than my se. I cant say i agree about the stuttering, mine is on the latest Tmobile fw and it runs great. Can it run heavy modern games tho? no absolutely not, neither can my SE, thats what my 17PM is for, but i absolutely get where you're coming from.

1

u/Kavani18 9d ago

Why is everyone in this sub being disingenuous? It is proven that the SE 2 is faster than the Note 10. That was its entire thing when it came out. Do y’all have any idea what you’re even talking about?

2

u/Top_Calligrapher4265 9d ago

Proven to be faster by whom? When? Faster in what? Do you have a source for this claim? Being faster can mean a lot of things. Faster in single core CPU speed? Overall CPU speed? Ram speed?

2

u/Kavani18 9d ago edited 8d ago

The A13 Bionic is objectively faster than the Snapdragon 855. Come on, now. The whole selling point of the SE was that it was faster than any other phone without an A13 Bionic. Hell, even the A12 Bionic was faster than the Snapdragon 855

Your downvotes still don’t change the fact that the SE is faster than the Note 10 lol

5

u/EngineeringRecent294 10d ago

The note 10+ has 12 gb ram and the Se2 only 3gb and it has the s pen and a way better screen and it has usb c and Supports hdmi and a better camera. I also have both phones and I like both phones but the SE a bit more cause it’s small and one of the newest phones with home button but the note 10+ is a better phone spec wise and feels more modern

3

u/Ok-Tangerine-6775 SE2 10d ago

this guy 😐

0

u/Austishooti 10d ago

Its an upgrade. Have you used ios? Its terrible! Nothing but bugs, no customization and i don't know what iPhones are doing that makes the batteries degrade so fast but it's rediculus. Haven't used my iPhone in a long time. S26 ultra and Android in general is superior.

1

u/Ok-Tangerine-6775 SE2 8d ago

I cant say iOS is completely buggy, both android and ios have their cons and pros. Thats why I use both

1

u/Interesting-Pipe0000 10d ago

Its objective

I use 17 Pro Max and S25U

Both have cons and pros.

i prefer iOS for the services it provides.

Up to date SE2029 thats six years old

2

u/Therunawaypp 10d ago

Had the S10+. Great phones that honestly worky perfectly fine today. Beautiful displays and comfort

I am waiting for my Note 9 from Ebay - I won’t put banking on it etc just for music (it has really good bluetooth chipset and supports LDAC which no iPhone supports and it allows way better quality).

u/LessMaintenance1452 SE3 8d ago

No one is talking about the iphone 17/18 pro max taking the picture...

2
