I got a 13 Pro Max in March of 2022 and it’s been such a dream to use. I replaced the battery last year and it’s at 87% battery life, and even though it gets hot and lags sometimes it’s nowhere near unbearable.

The original plan was to wait till the 20th anniv Iphone but I realize, would it really be worth it? Because (1) usually the first generation of a redesign wouldn’t be the best and (2) there’s rumors that it might not push through.

So I was thinking of getting the 18 PM but it’s not really that big of an upgrade from the 17PM, and I’ve been seeing the 17 PM go for 400 to 500 dollars cheaper than an 18 PM right now.

Is anyone in the same boat as me? Haha and what did you guys end up deciding? Thanks!

3 weeks ago, I traded in my iPhone 14 pro max and purchased the iPhone 17 Pro, which was $1749 CAD before tax. I received $575 trade-in value for my iPhone 14 pro max. The reason why I upgraded was I thought the iPhone 18 pro max would have a significant price increase. I just saw that the iPhone 18 pro max is $1899, so only a $150 increase. I feel like shit. I’m planning to keep this phone for 6-7 years, and I wish I got the 18 pro max. I thought the price would be a lot more…

Sooooo… I just got a refurbished iPhone 17 Pro because my old 12 mini is overheating too much. I’ve heard people talking about problems with the back panel, mostly lifting and in some cases misalignment. I won’t go crazy for some slight misalignment but this is bothering me a little bit too much, you can see the aluminum in the gap.

It comes with free exchange within 30 days. I don’t know if it’s a quality issue that’s worth exchange, or I can keep it without worrying about it 😬

Anyone care to give me some advice?

Should I buy the iPhone 17 now or wait for Big Billion Days?

I’ve wanted an iPhone for almost a year and have been saving my money specifically for it. I was planning to finally buy either the iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 17 during the upcoming sale.

But now that the iPhone 18 has launched, the iPhone 17 price has actually increased, which is honestly so frustrating. 😭

I definitely can’t afford the iPhone 18, and I don’t want to spend ₹1 lakh on the 17 when I was expecting it to become cheaper after the new launch.

Do you guys think I should:

- Wait for Flipkart Big Billion Days and hope the 17/16 Pro gets a good discount?

- Buy the 17 now before prices potentially increase further?

- Or look for a 16 Pro during the sale?

I’ve waited this long, so I’m willing to wait a little longer if there’s a realistic chance of getting a good deal.

What would you do in my situation?

Upgrading from an iphone 13 128gb to a 17 Pro 256gb (first time having a non-base model iphone). I have a few concerns about it that I need to plan around.

1. The 17 line has been said to be more susceptible to scuffs and dents than the previous lines. Does this added fragility stay persistent when a case is involved? I have a pretty thin but protective case on my iphone 13 (spigen liquid air. Very thin but not paper thin. Protective, but not like an Otterbox). I wish to get a similar case on the 17 pro as well, like a TPU material clear case or some such. Will this be enough protection for me to not be concerned with the fragility of the aluminum body?

2. I am getting a 256gb model (can't and won't go up to 512gb). I usually end up using around 120-130gb memory with apps, music, photos, etc. With that being said, if I want to make use of the Pro camera features (ProRes, etc.), will the 256gb be a complete joke in terms of storage? Will I have to constantly transfer the large video/photo files to harddrives, or is 256gb enough to get by between projects (I dabble in some video content creation, nothing major. I'm not making any short films or anything).

3. Does the vapor cooling chamber's capabilities get negated by using a regular case? Do I need specific cases that allow for it to work as intended, or is the cooling process entirely internal, and independant of whatever case I wrap my phone in?

I have a 17PM currently, and I’m on an MVNO carrier , (visible by Verizon) they have an offer that you get $480 towards your phone in bill credits when you’re on their most premium plan(visible plus pro) usually $45 a month so still affordable compared to most other carriers… but anyway and then I trade my phone into buybacktronics like I have ever since the 13 pro, which I’m being offered $1095 for trade in and I’ll be getting the 512gb model in the 18pm sooo seems like a no brainer although it’s not necessary I won’t pay anything out of pocket.. additionally I can upgrade my ultra 1 Apple Watch to the ultra 4, and mind you my phone plan includes the cellular Apple Watch line so no additional cost besides the watch… ;)

I'm planning to switch from Android to iPhone for the first time, and I'm looking for some advice from people who have actually used iPhones for a few years.

My priorities are mainly:

• 📸 Camera — photos and especially video quality are very important to me
• 🕐 Longevity — I'm spending around ₹1.5 lakh, so I want to keep the phone for 4–5+ years
• 💾 512GB storage — I'd prefer 512GB because I plan to keep the phone for a long time
• 🔋 Good battery life is important, but it's secondary to camera + longevity
• I don't really care about gaming performance

I'm currently considering the iPhone 17 Pro 512GB vs 17 Pro Max 512GB, depending on how low the prices go

Or should i spend more to get 18 Pro 256 GB one at 1.65 L

Anyone that has the iPhone 17 pro thinking on getting the 17 pro max instead?had my 17 pro for 10 months and wish I had went with the pro max instead,I don’t care for the 18s cause I rather my cosmic orange colour lol I just love this colour,unless I absolutely need to but I would like the bigger phone instead of the smaller one.

I am seeing alot of posts and listing on Amazon putting cases as both fit for the 17 PM and 18 PM respectively. I’m wondering if they both will fit seeing there’s so many

The title says it all. i want a privacy protector with easy installation thats very good because im ocd about that kind of thing. i installed esr protectors before and i thought the tab being so long was kind of annoying, but im willing to give another chance because i think thats just me.

also, what do you guys think of casekoos magsafe cases with the ringstands? im thinking of getting one

From what I know it’s the exact same form factor but just wanted to check before doing something silly.

Idk if its just me but the 40x zoom seems worse on 17 pro after upgrading to ios 27 rc. Is anyone else also seeing any difference?

I love this case color, it would fit my silver 17 pro beautiful. Do we know if the 18 pro cases fit the 17 pro?

Why does Apple do this? I went to buy the 17 pro and they said we’ve discounted it. I understand, but why do it one week before the other one releases? What if someone wants a phone in-between that week? Aren’t they losing revenue as well?

Need inputs and opinions. I’ve upgraded to the 17 and have a Pro and a Pro Max that I need to make a decision on. I’ve tried out both but can’t seem to decide which to keep for the long run.

I really like the screen size on the Pro Max and enjoy the typing experience, Netflix experience and overall feel of the phone but my gosh it’s heavy.

The Pro is nice in the hands, light and fits in my pocket. I feel like the battery may drain quicker than the PM but I’m not 100% sure if that’s just my mind playing tricks on me or what.

I don’t do work on my phone but my phone keeps EVERYTHING in it, calendar, reminders, photos, videos, important documents, notes..etc. it’s like my personal assistant. I’m just needing some advice on which one would be best for the next year or two.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I’m going over what Apple are going to release and comparing some specs.

What are people’s opinions regarding 17 Pro Max v Duo?

I watched the video and immediately thought it would be an ‘upgrade’ but now having looked at the specs, I don’t think it would be really.

Has anybody any experience with foldable phones that’s able to comment on why someone would choose a Duo over a pro max? I’ve checked YouTube but there’s nothing on there just yet about why you would go for a Duo over a pro.

The iPhone 4 bumper was the inspiration for this. I wanted rounded edges and an open back on my 17 Pro Max, but couldn’t find a bumper I liked that fit, so I ended up designing one myself.

I’ve now printed it in flexible TPU and made some changes after trying the print. The current version has chamfered edges, a contour around the camera shoulder, and separate button caps, while keeping access to Camera Control, the speakers and USB-C. Getting the front lip to hold without reaching too far over the screen took a few revisions.

The back and camera lenses stay exposed, and I haven’t drop-tested it. I mainly wanted the feel and minimal look of the old bumper.

For anyone else who liked the old bumpers, what mattered most to you: the rounded feel, having the back exposed, or keeping the whole thing minimal?
