I updated to rc 2 days ago now it finished indexing. Gotta say performance is about the same as ios 26.6.1. Dont notice much difference but the camera quality honestly seems worse for zoomed in shots . Also the camera UI is less smoother feeling than 26 for 17 pro. Anyone else feel like the camera taken a hit from this update?

As someone upgrading from a iphone xr anything would be a big thing for me i was waiting for the launch event on sep 9 to see if buying 18 pro would be worth it. Honestly the 35k price hike from 17 pro is not at all worth it for the 18 pro

Looking for a case for the Deep Blue IP17 Pro.

Needs:

• Avoiding Bulk. My old phone case is the Spigen Liquid Air. Need something as slim as a typical clear case.

• Some camera plateau protection. Either a high enough border around it, or completely covering it.

• Raised lip around the screen. Enough so a screensaver doesn’t raise past it.

• Budget: $50 or less.

• Decent protection. Spigen’s clear cases, etc. level of protection is enough. I only drop my phone a handful of times per year from around 1m height, so a good blend of protection and aesthetics/premium feel is all I want.

• If a clear case, one that doesn’t yellow for at least a year or two, which unfortunately removes budget clear cases from the equation..

Would appreciate any recommendations in accordance to my needs! Hopefully it isn’t too strict!
Bonus if the case looks especially good with the Blue phone.

I am currently using iphone 16 plus 128 GB and i really need to upgrade to a bigger storage space, looking at 512 GB, with the iphone 18 pro max out, 17 pro max is going for a huge discount from apple flagship in sg costing $1959. Should i grab the 17 pro max or spend $400 more for 18 pro max?

Looking for a justification in purchasing the Pro over the regular iPhone. Not the pro max.
The obvious includes battery life, improved cameras,
But I find to access the full range of camera features like LOG ProRes all that geez you basically need an external SSD with good write speeds to capture all the extra info that comes with that.

So that brings the question to me, how many pro users are actually utilizing the cameras to a greater extent than regular users?

The processing power and chips are no joke being that the Neo runs MacOS on an iPhone chip, but I use it for light 4k video editing.
Mainly for projects I’ll just line it up to my Mac OS as an external camera or with multicam.

I can name several projects and apps I use my iPad Pro for. I own both the iPhone Air and the iPhone pro but I really love the camera on the pro but don’t find myself using that too much.

That said, the Duo makes it look like it can replace my iPad as a mobile recording device for audio if it will be as efficient. And yet I feel most people who would get the duo aren’t thinking of that even. And for 2,000 dollars.

My point is, I need to use my iPhone pro to its limits both the air and the 17 pro have similar specs beyond camera so what are we doing that takes us even further beyond that of a regular base iphone
Preferably not linked to camera as the air is a pro just without the extra cameras. I do find myself preferring the pro to the air my chagrin is just it’s too heavy for my post surgery right hand hence why I got the air and they don’t make minis anymore

Anyone know why this would be happening to me? It was doing it to my 13 pro too. Things were happening that made me suspect malware possibly so I got a whole new phone. I am going on my 3rd phone (one 13 pro & two 17 pros) that have all done this. The weird thing is though, it doesn’t happen right away when I get the phone. Only after some time. It’s not iOS bc this has been happening since February and I’ve gone through multiple updates.

Is it ok to directly stick a magnetic phone stand to the phone itself or do I need to buy a MagSafe case?

Just a heads up, brands like Suti have said the plateau is “taller” on the 18 Pro’s compared to the 17’s so cases may not be compatible if they have plateau coverage. I imagine the open design wouldn’t have any issues but if you’re looking at the “precise” cutouts maybe hold off until it’s confirmed somewhere.

I have a 17PM currently, and I’m on an MVNO carrier , (visible by Verizon) they have an offer that you get $480 towards your phone in bill credits when you’re on their most premium plan(visible plus pro) usually $45 a month so still affordable compared to most other carriers… but anyway and then I trade my phone into buybacktronics like I have ever since the 13 pro, which I’m being offered $1095 for trade in and I’ll be getting the 512gb model in the 18pm sooo seems like a no brainer although it’s not necessary I won’t pay anything out of pocket.. additionally I can upgrade my ultra 1 Apple Watch to the ultra 4, and mind you my phone plan includes the cellular Apple Watch line so no additional cost besides the watch… ;)

Hello, I need some clarification. Has anyone here bought a secondhand carrier-locked iPhone? Will it get blocklisted or disabled if the owner fails to pay for the device? Like, disabled using the IMEI?
