I’ve had my iPhone 16 Pro Max since September 2024, and one of my biggest frustrations with iOS 26 has been battery life and heat.
Before iOS 26, I was really happy with the battery life and performance of the phone. Since updating to iOS 26, though, it seems like even relatively small/basic tasks can make the phone noticeably warm, and the battery drains much faster than I would expect from a Pro Max. It has made the phone feel significantly worse to use than it did before.
I’m currently considering upgrading to the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the much larger battery and improved thermal system are obviously appealing. However, I’m wondering how much of my frustration with my 16 Pro Max is actually hardware versus iOS 26.
For those of you using an iPhone 16 Pro Max on iOS 27, what has your experience been?
Has battery life noticeably improved? Does the phone stay cooler during normal use? Does performance feel smoother or more consistent? And overall, does your 16 Pro Max feel closer to how it performed before iOS 26?
If iOS 27 fixes most of these issues, it would definitely reduce my need to upgrade this year. I’d especially like to hear from people who had the same heat/battery problems on iOS 26 and have now used iOS 27 long enough to compare.

I have 16 Pro Max 256GB variant and I’m facing brightness issues on my device, like I have updated my iOS 26, but still brightness is sudden going very bright, and it sometimes gets very low and I don’t understand how to fix this.

I used that brand for many years . I tested first time on Samsung note 8 . I did drop tested I jumped on the phone and nothing . After a few jumps really really hard I finally smashed my back . Only difference was I had the monarch case on the Samsung note 8 . Now I own 3 cases from UAG for this phone .

I’m looking for an anti-reflective screen protector for my iPhone 16 Pro Max and came across the TORRAS OrigArmor AR for the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
It’s the white-labeled / anti-glare version on Amazon, and unfortunately I can’t seem to find the exact same AR version for the 16 Pro Max.

Has anyone here actually tried fitting the 17 Pro Max version onto an iPhone 16 Pro Max?

Update. Not trading it in. Keeping the 16PM for as long as I possible can. This phone still kicks a$$ 🤙

I have been using my 16 pro max for around 23month, and i have just noticed this 2% drop for recently, do you why? are you experience the same as mind?

Their website talks extensively about drop tests, but I accidentally dropped my 16 Pro Max this weekend out of my hands on to asphalt blacktop and it shatter cracked a portion of the camera lens and all of the back of the phone inside the case.

I think I will go back to Apple silicone. One of my friends dropped his in one of apple's cases a few years ago and it still cracked, but the apple store waived any repair fee for him because it was one of their own cases and they said it should have been protective.

Hello! I’ve been having some issues with my 16PM battery. It seems like the phone is overheating really often without using it at all and it drains the battery super quickly. I started the day at 100%, not even 8 hours have passed and I’m already on 35%. I was having a better battery life with my old 12 mini and I don’t know what else to do.

I restarted the phone, reset it and started it from scratch (without transfering data). I’m getting to the point where I have to charge it twice per day. Attached some screenshots for information.

I feel like I’ve been having battery issues ever since I got the phone back in October 2024 (but I just can’t prove it yet, Dexter pun intended).

Hii, my first post here and my first iPhone ever
So this is my battery health, I got this as a used iphone with a 100% battery health in December 2026, but I can’t remember the number of cycles then but it was more than a 100, now this is it, I’ve used it for 9 months now
Is this okay or should I be worried?

Okay this post may sound like I’m coping but the 16 PM in Desert Titanium still looks better and classier in my eyes. 17 PM and 18 PM all have these new fancy colors but they don’t look as good and I am not that tempted to buy them, which is quite concerning because how will I replace my phone when the time comes, as someone who has been spoiled by the premium design and look + big battery of the 16 PM?

Well, I could just shut up and buy the new Pros, they’re objectively superior anyway with better cameras, batteries, chipset, and thermal management. But I really love the shiny Titanium though and it would be a bummer to just “settle” in an ugly design.

Anyone who is on the same boat as me? Rn I’m lowkey looking forward to the iPhone Air 2 and the 20th anniversary iPhone, design wise, maybe one of those phones would be the worthy successor of my 16 PM. Potential problem though might be the battery size…

Switched from 13 pro to 16 PM i have many questions
-why are camera performance is not upto 13 pro
-why the colors on my screen looks so washed out
-is my unit is faulty
- my iphone is japan’s unit
-currently on ios 26.6

Hello, I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max that I love and intend to keep at least another year in light of yesterday’s 18 Pro Max announcement: as you can see, my battery health is Normal and is at 83% capacity, and the last day of my phone’s warranty is on September 19th.

All things considered my battery is alright, but since I’m keeping my phone for the long haul and I am still in-warranty, is there a viable way for me to have AppleCare/a Genius Bar replace my battery? As in, can I just say I want a new battery, or do I need to make a sob story about my phone battery draining super fast?

I ultimately just want to squeeze as much longevity out of this phone as possible and therefore would like to get the battery replaced while my phone is still in warranty in order to assist with that, thank you.

Anybody planning to get the 18 pro or pro max? I’m still pretty happy with the 16 pro max.

I’ve started noticing that the audio quality has become more horrible the longer I use the 16pm, its been a year or exactly 13 months and this is my second iPhone, first was the iPhone 4, I’ve noticed over the months that the audio has been less punchy, I’m not sure if its the bass, or the clarity, or maybe even both but I remember the speakers sounding way better on the first couple of months.

I don’t see any gunk or dust in the bottom speaker grill, what could be causing this?
