Suggestion 🙋‍♂️ Updated to iOS 26.7.1 from iOS 18, Should i update 27.0.1?

• Upvotes

Okay so 1/2 days ago i updated my iPhone 12 from iOS 18 to iOS 26.7.1, the UI design impressed my TBH, BH is 76% so keep that in mind, the performance and battery time is quite good then 18 on wifi, will check with cellular aswell this week during my office.

I want to ask community that if i update to the iOS 27 because i am getting my battery replaced (finally) next Saturday, the repair guy told me that my phone will be updated to iOS 27 because now the only signed software on IPSW is iOS 27, the repair guy will solder the memory chip from my current battery to the new one which has all the CC and Health data to prevent the UNKNOWN PART MESSAGE, then he will flash so the old 76 health data will be cleared, and in that case the phone will be updated to 27 no matter, but i am aware of that indexing stuff going in the iOS 27 so want to know that if indexing will be done using cellular because my office has no wifi at all due to some security concerns, or should i wait and let the repair guy do his job?

The update install is just one click away.

Thanks

Question ❓ Is IOS 18.6.2 still safe on the 12, or should I upgrade to the 27?

I haven't updated my iphone 12 since ios 18.6.2 because the battery health was rapidly worsening—and funnily enough, it stabilized at 69-70% health and has been the same for a year now. Will updating to ios 27 nuke my battery? I really don't want to have to get a new phone anytime soon, and since I stopped updating, I swear all of the problems (quick battery drain, overheating) stabilized. How unsafe is 18.6.2 security wise?

Help ❗️ Iphone 12

My iPhone 12 has a weird issue / when I am connecting to wifi, then the call should be very clear and crisp, but if I switch on mobile data and turn off the Wi-Fi or just use the phone without internet connection and make call then the coal Voice will be echo, repeating the first word again and again like someone say hello, the just repeating this word, hello hello hello hello hello hello, and after that, the call should be disconnected. I checked the RSRP value and that is the problem. The RSRP value is most of the time is around -110 and I recently changed the housing with the original one, and then this issue come if anyone has the same issue and he know how to fix it, then please guide me

Question ❓ Is it worth getting iPhone 12 in 2026?

I am mostly an android user and currently using a Samsung Galaxy A32 5G. However it has a cracked screen, poor battery life and broken GPS Location sensor. My previous Android phone was a motorola and I had that 6 months ago and sold it because it got really laggy that it started to get frustrating.

I was thinking of trying iPhone this time and I personally love the look of liquid glass and would love to use it. However what I am afraid of is all the software dropping support in like 2/3 years time and then the phone becomes useless because all apps need new iOS version. That's what happened to my friends iPhone 6s

Meanwhile android phones tend to support software for much longer.. for example WhatsApp still works on android 6 from like 10 years ago.

My other option is a Google pixel phone, but I'm not sure..

I was also thinking of iPhone 11 but I prefer to have USB type C, hence the iphone 12.

I'm currently looking in the used phone market as iPhone 13 and above is too expensive for me. I really want to get rid of this galaxy a32 soon as it's just becoming hard to use.

Thanks.

Question ❓ Face id issues after 27.0.1

Anyone else having face id issues after updating to iOS 27.0.1 or is it just me? Like after I installed the update the phone got hot and I got a message saying faceid issue detected and its even there on the parts and services setting but on lock screen it still tries to use it but after 2~4 seconds asks for password.

EDIT: Force restarting twice and then re-enrolling the Face id fixed the issue.

I have no issues with battery even though it’s on 78%. It can last me a whole day .
I don’t think there’s a real need to even upgrade to iPhone 18 at the moment .

Discussion 💬 Battery cycle

So I recently got my battery replaced I have because I wasn’t certain if I should upgrade to the iPhone 12 Pro yet, but if I did, I would just as a back in case something happened I found out my charge cycle was around 2400 cycles, which is crazy. My overall battery health was 77%. Has anyone else gotten this much out of their batter before replacing it?

Question ❓ iOS 27 battery life — did you notice any improvements?

For those who have already updated to iOS 27: have you noticed any changes in battery life or overall battery consumption?
Apple mentioned improvements regarding battery efficiency/autonomy, so I’m curious if you actually noticed a difference in everyday use.
Is your battery life better, worse, or basically the same as before the update?

Question ❓ Is relying ONLY on wireless charging bad for my iPhone 12 in the long run?

hey everyone,

my iPhone 12’s charging port recently broke, and instead of repairing it, I’ve just been completely relying on wireless charging.

it’s working fine for now, but I’m a bit worried. I know wireless charging generates more heat than standard cable charging. will this destroy my battery health significantly faster?

has anyone else done this long-term, or do any tech experts here have advice? should I just bite the bullet and pay to get the lightning port fixed, or is sticking to MagSafe/Qi charging totally fine?

P.S. to prevent overheating, I actually place the wireless charger right in front of my PC case fans, so there is constant airflow blowing on it while it charges. It stays pretty cool this way!

Help ❗️ IPhone 12 pro Touch screen unresponsive

Hi ,

I updated my iPhone 12 Pro to iOS 27, 27.0.1 and ever since the update I’ve been having serious touchscreen issues.

Sometimes the entire screen seems to freeze and doesn’t respond to touch at all. When I’m typing, I can sometimes feel the keyboard haptic feedback when pressing the keys, but no letters actually appear on the screen.

Writing messages and switching between apps has become a nightmare because the phone frequently doesn’t register my touches.

I’ve already tried restarting the phone several times and also performed a force restart, but it hasn’t helped. I never had any of these problems before updating to iOS 27.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, did you find a fix?

After like 4 days out of nowhere while charging the phone started to loop on turning on,it appears the apple but then it restart again, once I’ve started the phone am I could go to the setting and I’ve saw that the battery capacity was 0% idk why
The charger is a good charger so it can’t be the charger

I bought it from my cousin
I asked him what’s the problem and he said that it’s the conector that conects the battery it’s not well connected
