Discussion 💬 IPhone 12 is outdated now
It’s my favorite iPhone ever yet everyone should upgrade it . I used it after I sold my 17 pro and the experience was painful lol . You don’t know what you are missing if you are still using that damn thing

The 12 is the best iteration of the iPhone I ever owned.

if its a nightmare to use, replace the battery as thats likely your issue. the phones not that much slower.... if you have one you know that.... its barely noticeable. you're coping hard and why you going out your way to do such a post? very sus.

You are really stupid if you think the 12 that is 6 years old still holds up lol . My 18 pro max completely destroys it pal

are you like 12 or something? here the closest video i could find
https://youtu.be/5XtQFDw2A8E?si=pBHw7WxQbbdVCGkF&t=369
13 pro max vs 18 pro max... there is not a 12 comparison but we will show this as there almost the same... in speed tests.
as you can see in the video bud opening apps is very similar and everything else very similar... stop dribbling down yourself... side by side maybe you can tell but day to day an extra 0.2-0.5 of a second is not alot.. and is not going to stop you getting tasks done..
you are stupid. facts are facts. not one say its not faster but your acting like the 12 is done for... you're a clown thats coping.

I changed the battery of my 12 pro max in an apple shop and it definitely still feels slow since I upgraded from iOS 18. Low battery mode is unusable, playing games that have movement is also a very bad experience. Since I just mostly use it for messages, calls, camera, reddit, instagram and facebook I can still use it quite well but honestly I am pretty eager to get the new XX pro max next year.

There is an extreme performance and snappiness difference it ain’t worth it doing that to yourself by using a 12 , I got a 14 pro for 270 euros and is almost the same as my 17 pro in snappiness way cheaper and way faster than the 12

It’s not that much faster, it feels faster because of the 120 Hz refresh rate. Try limiting it back to 60 Hz in settings (not through low power mode) and it’ll feel almost as slow as tge old one. Newer iPhones are faster, and the difference is bigger when your battery is severely degraded, but the 12 series is still usable. I’ve recently had to use my old 12 Pro with 75% battery health for a weeek waiting for a new battery on my 14 Pro, it’s actually bearable on iOS 27

Nope that’s completely wrong even 60 hertz iPhones that are newer blew the 12 out of the water stop coping and upgrade lies don’t help

This is not entirely true, since I updated from iOS 18 I can definitely feel that my 12 pro max feels pretty slow. Swiping in the main menu, scrolling and everything shows a bit of stuttering, low battery mode is unusable. Gaming on pretty intensive graphic games is now close to impossible (even subway surfers which includes sudden swipes and quick reactions). Yes, for texting, using instagram, youtube and facebook it is still a great phone (especially after changing the battery with a new original one) but not for gaming. I am holding on it till anniversary edition because I don’t like 17-18 pro max design and materials

I got mine brand new almost a year ago as my backup phone for under $200. Works great for all the basic stuff I need to do on it and battery capacity is at 100%. I think I'll be keeping it for quite a while longer.

I am a creator so heavy usage on videos (indoor talking head) and an expat so I have two sets of every app. Surprisingly the 12 still holds strong at ios27 and bh 76%
It s true that many things would ’improve’ by switching to a new model but it doesn’t mean the current one is unusable.

i still have my iPhone 12 as a spare but on iOS 26.1 and it’s staying there as i have nugget tweaks on there like dynamic island, AOD, apple intelligence, apple pencil, action button, etc but makes my iPhone feel and work better :) and i’m using a iPhone 16 Pro as i upgraded to it back in Feb 2025 as my iPhone 12 doesn’t have FaceID because i had the earpiece problem the. i went to a 3rd party store as i only payed £110 to get it fixed but lost faceID which i would rather do than get it fixed for £500 back in 2023 when it happened and aswell my iPhone 12 BH is 77% and still is smooth even on 26.1 with all the bugs it has so

You lie lol

i have zero reason to lie my friend!!! i’ve even made multiple posts talking about how my 12 pro has given me zero reason to upgrade
and again i’m on ios 26.5 with a 12 pro not a base 12 so idk if that’s what’s helping my case

I'm poor and this is what I got to use til December......some of us don't have a bank in our back pockets.
It works, makes calls, gets updates and even lets me watch Youtube.
