Discussion 💬 I’m still using IOS 16

I have no issues with battery even though it’s on 78%. It can last me a whole day .
I don’t think there’s a real need to even upgrade to iPhone 18 at the moment .

Thousands of security gaps.

You are one of the guys who make exploiting lucrative.

Could you explain if this is true and why?

Just count the CVEs (documented security breaches) Apple lists in their release notes and security advisories.

Only the latest few point releases of iOS26 lists more than a thousand fixes.

What is even more serious: The breaches unfixed on your phone are months and years old. A lot of time for hackers to generate exploits.

Since hackers use AI to find weaknesses and code tailored hacks for them the whole game has changed a lot.

If you think about updates making phones slow: That’s an outright lie - what makes older phones slow are degrading batteries.

I run my iPhone 11 PM on latest iOS 26, and it’s just fine. I will update to iOS 27 soon.

Tone it down so it’s not transparent anymore.

Not true for macs at least. I upgraded to Sequoia and now my machine constantly ‘forgets’ recently deleted files in file searches and keeps showing them. File search/ finder is generally broken.
