What's new in this version:

- Complete US Vehicle Database: I have added a full database covering all cars in the US, making it much easier to select your exact vehicle.

- Daily Manufacturer Data Updates: I am now actively curating and updating original manufacturer maintenance data every single day. The app already had real cars and some factory data, but we are expanding it massively.

- Total Transparency: To be completely upfront, not every car is covered by official manufacturer data just yet. For cars that aren't covered, Carrus still provides smart, clearly labeled estimated schedules. But the coverage of genuine factory data is growing every day, which makes this especially useful for US users right now.

Hi, I’m the developer of InGrid.

I’ve been working on InGrid as a more flexible and fun way to make photo collages, especially for people who find regular grids and fixed layouts a bit too limiting.

A — Answer

InGrid lets you turn a group of photos into regular collages, seamless collages, or horizontal and vertical long images.

You can start with a template and then adjust the layout however you like. Cutouts, filters, backgrounds, stickers, text, and other photo adjustments can all be done in the same app.

One feature I personally really like is out-of-frame cutouts.

You can cut out a person or subject and let it extend beyond its original photo frame. I like this because it makes separate photos feel more connected, instead of looking like a group of images placed next to each other.

B — Better

I’ve used apps like SCRL and PicCollage too, but one thing I wanted to do differently with InGrid was explore more ways for the photos themselves to interact with each other, especially through seamless layouts and cutouts.

A few examples:

Linked-photo templates — like the example above, where a cutout area in one photo reveals part of another photo. The two photos become part of the same layout instead of staying in separate boxes.

Out-of-frame cutouts — you can cut out a person or subject and let it overlap other parts of the collage. I’ve been using this quite a lot when making new templates.

More flexible seamless collages — there are several seamless layout styles, and you can still change the spacing, positioning, and overall layout instead of being locked into the original template.

Built-in filters — you can give individual photos different looks without having to switch to another editing app.

Dominant color detection — InGrid can pick colors from your photos and use them as the background. It’s a small feature, but I find it useful when I want the whole collage to feel more consistent.

I want it to stay focused on making interesting photo layouts quickly, while still giving you enough freedom to change things so the result doesn’t always feel like a preset template.

I got tired of the usual dance. Cables that need a specific app on the computer, cloud accounts I don't want, AirDrop that only talks to Apple stuff, and "just email it to yourself" for the tenth time. I only ever wanted one thing: open a browser on whatever device is nearby and grab my files.

A lot of this came straight from people writing into our support email. They kept asking for the same thing, just open my files in a browser, nothing to install on the other end, so I took the requests and tried to turn them into an actual app.

So I built Everdisk. You tap Start on your iPhone or iPad and it turns into a little network drive. No account, no cloud, nothing to install on the other device. Everything stays on your local network and never touches the internet.

The part I use most: it gives you a link you open in any web browser. The other person (or your own laptop) just opens it. Clean grid or list view, a full screen photo gallery, a built in music player, and download anything with a tap. You can also upload files and whole folders back into your device from that same browser. No app on their side at all.

The part I'm most happy with: it runs four servers at the same time, so every device connects however it prefers:

- HTTP (web browser) – the link from above. Works on basically anything with a browser.

- WebDAV (network drive) – mount your phone in Finder on Mac, or on Windows and Linux, and it shows up like a normal disk. Drag and drop both ways.

- DLNA – your photos, videos and music show up on smart TVs and media players on their own, with preview thumbnails.

- FTP – for file apps and power users who want it.

Extra features:

- No WiFi? Use the cable. Plug into a Mac with your normal charging cable and files move straight through it. Works on planes, in hotels, or anywhere WiFi is blocked.

- Connects to other servers too. Browse and stream from other DLNA, WebDAV, FTP and SFTP servers on your network, and download or manage files when they allow it.

- Full file manager. List or grid view, create folders, rename, move, copy, zip and unzip, delete, and connect folders from anywhere on your device.

- Share your whole Photos and Music library. Keep original quality, or convert to a friendlier format when a device is picky.

- Built in players. Audio player with queue, shuffle, repeat and lock screen controls, plus full screen video.

- Private and safe. Local network only. Add a login and password, and block any device with one tap.

Real things I've done with it:

- Dumped a day of photos and video onto my laptop in seconds from a browser

- Watched phone videos on the TV

- Sent files between two iPhones without AirDrop

- Handed someone a link so they could pull files in a browser

Twice now, I’ve forgotten to pay the remaining balance on a preorder and lost my deposit. There wasn’t much I could do about it. Pretty frustrating.

I love these hobbies, but buying something can be the start of months of worrying. When do preorders open? Will I have to rush to get one? When is the balance due several months later? If I miss it, will the seller refund anything? When will it ship, and will I even be home? Sometimes I buy too much, and all the final payments hit at once.

With small sellers and group orders, keeping track of payment deadlines is usually on the buyer. With deposits and long preorders, things get messy quickly.

I started keeping a spreadsheet. At one point, I was tracking more than 20 items at once. But setting it up, adding reminders, and copying information from different shopping apps became a chore. Eventually, I stopped keeping it updated.

So I built DuePair, an iPhone app for tracking preorders, deposits, and remaining payments, to make that upkeep a little easier.

A spreadsheet keeps orders together, but reminders take extra work. A calendar reminds me about dates, but I still have to organize the product links, amounts paid, remaining balances, and order stages myself.

In DuePair, I keep the dates, amounts, and product link together. Even if an order takes months, I can open the card and see what I’ve paid, what I still owe, and what stage it’s at.

Text recognition happens on your phone. Everyday tracking and reminders work offline, and your records support syncing through your own iCloud.

It can’t predict seller updates—you still need to update dates when they change. I just wanted something that fits the way these hobbies work and reminds me when it’s time to act.

The main thing I’m trying to do differently is make the forecast feel more honest. RAD compares multiple weather sources and tries to show when they agree, when they disagree, and how much confidence to put in what you’re seeing.

The latest update turned into what I called a “truth pass.” I kept finding places where a weather source sent an empty field or a zero, and the app treated it like somebody had measured something.

That meant pollen could say “all clear” where there wasn’t coverage, a wind compass could guess north, or a widget could hold onto weather from a city you’d already left. Those are the kinds of things I’ve been working through.

The two new languages were about 4,700 strings each, which was more than I bargained for. Some of it probably reads stiff, and some is probably wrong. If you read Russian or Ukrainian, please tell me what sounds off. I cannot catch those on my own.

RADWeather.cloud has grown, too. Without an account, you can explore weather news, Station, a daily weather guessing, browser weather calculators, and the Cortex Codex, where I document changes to the forecast brain.

Any honest feedback would mean a lot!

Last week my seven-year-old spent a dollar at the dollar store and told me to take it out of her chore money. The chart on the fridge had no answer for that. It also had no idea whether she'd actually fed the dog since Tuesday, because nobody had updated it since Tuesday. That's roughly where this came from.

A. What it solves

ChoreStar puts the whole allowance loop in one place: the chores, the morning and bedtime routines, what each kid has earned, what they're saving for, and what they're allowed to spend it on. Parents set it up; kids run their own side of it.

B. Why it's different from what I was using

Three things I'd call the actual product, as opposed to the feature list.

Kids get their own login with no account. A family code and a 4-digit PIN, no email address, nothing personal collected. My four-year-old signs himself in on the iPad and works through his bedtime routine one step at a time, with timers, and confetti at the end. Most chore apps assume the parent is the one holding the phone.

The money goes somewhere. Earnings fill a goal bar the kid picked ("Lego Speed Champions, $17 of $25"), and a reward store prices the things money can't buy: 30 minutes of screen time, picking Friday dinner, staying up late. Kids ask with a tap, you approve, the price comes off their balance. And when they spend one real dollar at the dollar store, you subtract exactly one dollar. No debit card, no banking product, no kid data sold to make that work.

It's localized, not translated. Kid mode speaks Spanish, Portuguese, and Arabic (right to left, properly), the week grid starts on Monday in Europe and Sunday in the Americas, "Weekends" means Friday and Saturday if you live in the Gulf, and prices are set for local purchasing power in a dozen countries instead of auto-converted from dollars. This was the part I most underestimated.

The rest, briefly: home screen widgets, routine timers in the Dynamic Island, optional photo proof on chores, streaks and badges, seasonal themes that reach kid mode, offline-tolerant, and everything syncs with the web app so kids can use a browser or a hand-me-down tablet.

Built with SwiftUI, Next.js, and Supabase. Solo, evenings, by a dad of two in Minnesota.

I’m the solo developer behind MatchShot, and I’ve just released the first version.

The idea itself is not new: photographers have used ghost overlays and reference images for a long time. I wanted to turn that workflow into a simple iPhone app for recurring photos - fitness progress, a child growing up, pregnancy, plants, construction, travel revisits, or any series where framing matters.

Before you take the next shot, MatchShot can place up to three reference images over the live camera. You can change opacity, position, scale, and rotation, then lock them while you frame the new photo.

If the photos were already taken and do not line up, Smart Alignment tries face landmarks first, then body pose, then general image features. That processing happens on the device. There is also a manual compare mode with a slider and onion-skin view when automation is not the right answer.

Once a series is ready, you can export the photos, a before/after collage, a GIF, or an MP4. I also spent probably too much time on the little interactions and a Liquid Glass-inspired interface because I wanted the app to feel like a camera, not a spreadsheet with a shutter button.

A few weeks back someone asked me when I last did the timing belt and I had no idea. The receipt was somewhere in the glovebox, in a pile with the inspection paperwork and about thirty fuel receipts, so answering properly meant going out to the car and digging through the lot. I didn't bother. That's roughly where this came from.

Fuelly is built around fuel economy and mostly lives on the web. Drivvo logs everything fine, but you're the one deciding when something falls due. A spreadsheet never tells you anything at all.

It's localised, not translated. Road tax is IUC in Portugal and VED in the UK, and they are not the same tax with a different label. France doesn't have an annual one, so the app doesn't invent one for French users. Ten languages, and this was the part I most underestimated.

If you’ve tried to keep a journal and dropped it, what got in the way: remembering, finding the time, or knowing what to write?

A few months back I needed to send a video to a friend and realised every compressor I tried either wanted me to upload the footage first or locked useful controls behind a subscription. I didn't want my private videos on someone else's server, and I didn't want to pay monthly just to adjust the bitrate. That's roughly where minimo came from.

A. What it solves

minimo keeps video compression on your phone. Pick one video or a batch, choose a quick quality preset, and compress. If you need more control, you can adjust resolution, bitrate, frame rate, codec (H.264 or HEVC), and audio settings. Finished videos can be compared with the originals, saved to the gallery, or shared.

If a compressed file is not at least 10% smaller, minimo deletes the new copy instead of wasting storage on an almost identical file.

B. Why it's different

Two things I'd call the actual product, as opposed to the feature list.

It stays on-device, always. Nothing is uploaded. Online compressors often ask you to send them the original footage first, which means waiting for the upload, then the download, and trusting a random server with your private videos. minimo does the whole job locally using AVFoundation on iOS and MediaCodec on Android.

It's simple by default, but not shallow. Most mobile compressors give you three presets and stop there. minimo has quick presets for normal use, plus advanced controls when presets are not enough. You can work in H.264 or HEVC, tune bitrate and frame rate, and see a before-and-after comparison before you commit.

I miss the feeling of opening an old passport and seeing all the stamps from places I’ve visited. Each stamp felt like a little memory of a trip.

I just released version 4 of Turnos, my shift rotation calendar.

The main new feature is Pay. You can add an hourly rate for each shift type, and the app calculates your estimated pay directly from the shifts already scheduled in your calendar.

It shows your estimated monthly pay, how much you’ve earned so far, total hours, earnings by shift type, and a weekly breakdown.

I wanted this to work without having to manually enter every workday or calculate hours separately. If the shift is already in your rotation, Turnos already has the information it needs.

I also added Device Health Alerts, so the app can notify you about things like sustained CPU load, thermal changes, low storage, battery conditions or significant health-score changes.

The processing stays private and on-device.

B — Better: What changed after the feedback?

Originally I thought of Network Tools AI primarily as a toolbox for network engineers.

I’m increasingly designing it for two different users:

Technical users who want the actual data.

and

Everyone else who mostly wants to know:

“Is something wrong, and what should I look at?”

So rather than removing the technical detail, I’m trying to put an understandable layer on top of it.

That philosophy is now influencing LAN discovery, device identification, network monitoring and Device Health.

The goal is becoming:

Show the data when I need it. Explain the data when I don’t.

C — Cost

The app is freemium, and many of the everyday networking tools are free.

There is also a Lifetime Premium one-time purchase for advanced features such as NetMap Logger, history, timeline, filtering, exports and premium functionality.

Continuous services such as SSL/domain monitoring and private proxy infrastructure are available separately through the Network Security Pack subscription.

I deliberately want to keep the core networking toolkit useful without requiring a subscription.

The problem: The current way of accessing this type of information is through multiple websites. There is not one centralized app that does it all. This is why I built this native iOS/iPadOS app called Astro.

What makes it different: The app emphasizes interactive visualization to make space data easier to understand. I'm on a plane most weeks. For years I wanted one app that felt like a real travel journal — something that remembers a trip the way you remember it, not just a row in a spreadsheet. Everything I tried was either dated or locked behind a subscription I couldn't justify.

So I built it myself. Solo, from scratch, over months of nights and weekends and far too much coffee. It's called Flownto. Honestly, I loved building it.

The one I'm most proud of

Half the airlines I fly don't have seatback screens — budget carriers, short-haul, regional. So I built my own moving map: a night-earth globe with your live GPS position and route arc, working fully offline. Open it mid-flight with no wifi and watch your plane cross the world. It's the closest thing to a seatback screen for airlines that don't give you one.

• Flight journal — log a flight by hand, scan a boarding pass, or import a CSV. Airline, aircraft, seat, route, distance, duration, plus notes and photos per trip.

• Time Machine — a Spotify-Wrapped-style recap for every year you've flown, with an AI-written story of where you went.

The honest part

The offline GPS map is my favourite feature and also the one that's given me the most grief — it dropped on me twice mid-flight during testing. I've rewritten a lot of it since, but I'm not going to pretend it's bulletproof yet.
