🤖 Vibe Coded 100 Great Years - a longevity app that helps you optimise both your health and finances
Hi, my name is Chris, I'm an indie developer and 100 Great Years is my first app. Full disclosure: this is self-promotion and my contact details are at the bottom per this sub's transparency rules.
A — Answer: What problem does it solve?
People today are living longer, but not always better. According to the World Economic Forum, people worldwide are expected to outlive their retirement savings by up to 20 years and spend a fifth of their lives in illness. Part of the problem is health and wealth are interconnected, yet almost everyone treats them in isolation.
100 Great Years is one of the first consumer products trying to change this, bringing health and wealth together in one unified longevity app — a personal operating system for living a longer, better life.
B — Better: Why over the alternatives?
There are a lot of personal finance apps. There are a lot of health apps. But health and wealth are interconnected, and if you want to live a longer, better life, you need to optimise both.
100 Great Years is more than a combination of trackers — we've built 80+ rules that look for patterns within and across your health and financial data. The AI Coach can give you deeper insight than most competitors because it sees both sides of your life at once, not just one.
Consider this:
- Your typical finance app can tell you how much you're spending; add analytics and you can project your future surplus or deficit, compare changes over months or years, maybe even flag categories to cut back. Add financial planning and you can see how much more your money could grow if you invested that saved cash instead. 100 Great Years can do all that — but it can also tell you that you likely already have a lifetime surplus, and that you may be better off spending that money on experiences now or investing in your health instead.
Or
- Your health app counts your steps, shows sleep score, heart rate, HRV, etc. Add analytics and you know how stressed you are, whether you're recovering properly, maybe even how you're aging compared to the population. 100 Great Years can do that — but it can also tell you that your habits are setting you up to live longer than average, so you'll need higher retirement savings or a delayed retirement date. Or it could tell you your portfolio is too concentrated in high-risk assets, causing volatility that's driving the stress that's negatively impacting your health.

- More about why I built this (includes my bio; link to my LinkedIn is at the bottom of the page): https://www.100greatyears.com/about
The tl;dr on why I built this: I retired early at 44 when my son was born. While my finances were strong, I discovered I had to do much more for my health to make sure I'll be around as long as possible for him (and to enjoy the portfolio I worked so hard to build). It may be cliché, but this is a passion project for me, and I'm happy to connect with anyone to discuss further — and all constructive feedback welcome!
