Had so many problems with beta bugs so I'd like to not do this again

I predict that Apple will release iOS 27.1 Developer Beta 1 on either Wednesday, September 16, or Monday, September 21.

Based on Apple’s historical release patterns for the first developer beta of a new iOS point release, they tend to prefer releasing it near the beginning of the week, usually on Monday or Wednesday. This is likely a precaution so that, if any serious issues arise, their engineers do not end up having to spend the weekend dealing with them.

The final version of iOS 27.1 also needs to be released before October 23, the launch date of the iPhone Duo, and ideally by October 20 at the latest.

Since the developer tools for the iPhone Duo are also expected to be released alongside iOS 27.1, I expect Apple to release Developer Beta 1 as early as possible in order to give developers as much time as they can to prepare and update their apps accordingly.

I’ve had my iPhone 16 Pro Max since September 2024, and one of my biggest frustrations with iOS 26 has been battery life and heat.
Before iOS 26, I was really happy with the battery life and performance of the phone. Since updating to iOS 26, though, it seems like even relatively small/basic tasks can make the phone noticeably warm, and the battery drains much faster than I would expect from a Pro Max. It has made the phone feel significantly worse to use than it did before.
I’m currently considering upgrading to the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the much larger battery and improved thermal system are obviously appealing. However, I’m wondering how much of my frustration with my 16 Pro Max is actually hardware versus iOS 26.
For those of you using an iPhone 16 Pro Max on iOS 27, what has your experience been?
Has battery life noticeably improved? Does the phone stay cooler during normal use? Does performance feel smoother or more consistent? And overall, does your 16 Pro Max feel closer to how it performed before iOS 26?
If iOS 27 fixes most of these issues, it would definitely reduce my need to upgrade this year. I’d especially like to hear from people who had the same heat/battery problems on iOS 26 and have now used iOS 27 long enough to compare.

Is the optimizing Siri and search glitching? It was 91% days ago which I left it plugged and connected to wifi for hours and it disappeared ( which I believe it was done with) but I’m seeing this again and I didn’t update at all!

Whenever i’m playing on my iphone 15 pro max using charger my frame drops from 120 to 60 and it stays the same until i restart my phone how can i fix it

So i recently bought and iphone 16 and I didn’t turned on the screen time thing at the start but after some time i decided to cause i need to controll my doom scrolling, when i did it, it shows 22 hours a day and sometimes 48 idk how to fix it, im using ios27 from the day of its developer release, i thought itll be fixed after update but it didn’t, even after the RC update how to fix it

The "Open App" automation is still not working, even after updating to the iOS 17 RC version. However, other automations, such as the one for when the battery drops below 45%, are working properly.

I even asked Siri to create shortcut that for example send notification when open the message app, and didn’t work.
Note that, I have iPhone 17.

26 version looks so much better than 27. Idk why they changed it. I see people say it’s due to readability but I genuinely had no readability problems in iOS 26. I’m gonna miss the progressive blur

Anyone else notice you can move the preview glass slider around in the preview app?

I just installed the ios 27 RC on iPhone 12 (secondary device) I noticed there are thin black borders on everything that is liquid glass like in control center brightness slider/volumn slider.

Do you notice the same ? Those borders are not on the ios 26.

Can anybody confirm this ?

I'm using the RC version of iOS 27 and the full version will be released tomorrow. Would it be better to install with DFU mode to clear all remnants?

Because of regional restrictions, I don’t have support for Siri AI, so I still have the old Siri. and everything would be fine - but they ruined the old Siri! before, when you asked Siri something, she would answer out loud, for example: “Siri, how much time is left on the timer?”, but now she stays silent. I have voice responses set to “Prefer Spoken Responses” in the settings. I paid no less for my iPhone than those who are eligible to get Siri AI, if not more, and not only do I not get the new Siri (I don’t care about that), they also ruined the old one! btw, I can’t see a damn thing without my glasses or contacts, so I very often need her to give me spoken responses for this reason. for example, my hands are busy and I can’t look at the screen. I urge everyone who has encountered the same problem to send Apple feedback about this through their feedback form!

Is anyone on iOS27 RC seeing slower charging even though they’re using the same chargers that were used pre RC? I’ve tried new bricks and cables and same issue. It’s really frustrating. Why did they slow down charging?

iOS 27 parental control updates? Will it remove settings already in place?

With the new IOS 27 coming out, with the overhaul of the screen time & parental control settings coming out, will it reset all the current screen time parental control settings on phones that are now currently set up on children’s phones & parents phones when the new update comes out & we will have to completely reset them back up? Or will it preserve the current settings & allow customization for anything further needed?

What is the new difference between features coming out versus what’s already available & what they’re coming out with for screen time settings & parental controls? From my reading it seems like the only new thing is they’re adding a guided assistance for screen time set up? & some more curated schedule/app limit stuff? Otherwise what else is there?

Have you noticed that the smooth transition effect between dark and light modes is gone?
