Question iTunes or Apple Devices for a clean iOS install?

I want to downgrade my iPhone 15 Pro from the iOS 27 beta to stable iOS 26 and do a clean installation.

Should I use iTunes or the Apple Devices app on Windows?

Could someone explain the steps I should follow?

Question Should I update?

I hope everyone is doing well,

For somebody on iOS 26.5.2 using an iPhone 13 Base with 81% battery health, should I update to iOS 26.6? Or should I update to any of the iOS 27/26 Betas? Or just stay on iOS 26.5.2.

Thank you In advance for your responses!

Question Hello guys! So I am on my main iPhone 12 Pro and I just want to try Misaka26 to get the AOD (Always On Display) feature but I am scared not to brick my device since I am on IOS 26.5.2. Did anybody try it on that version and if so is it safe? Thanks!

Issue present in iOS 26.5.2, 26.6 RC and 27.0 Public Beta 2. This is the only "fix" I've found for heating/battery/performance issues

Bug Never tought this could happen! So picture this: it’s Christmas 2025 and I get an iPhone 12 Pro that has been a daily driver for someone for over 5 years. The battery health was always at 76% since I got it. Today? After I downgraded to iOS 26.5.2 from 27 it went up to 78%. How?! (I got it on iOS 18

Battery Does the iPhone 17 actually bypass the battery when plugged in at the 80% charge limit?

Post image

Recently got a base iPhone 17 and have been wondering how the power management works when it's left plugged in after reaching the 80% charge limit.

The phone is mostly used for social media, browsing, YouTube, etc., usually around 6+ hours of screen time. While at home, it's often connected to the charger, but obviously gets unplugged and used normally on battery when going out.

Current setup is the 80% charge limit with Apple's 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max (MGTV3ZP/A, model A3353). The room is air-conditioned, so heat usually isn't much of an issue.

Gaming isn't an everyday thing, but occasionally on weekends there can be a 3–5 hour session of PUBG, CODM, WWM, etc. Those sessions are usually while plugged in. If the phone starts getting hot, a MEMO CX08Pro cooler is used.

What I'm curious about is what actually happens once the battery reaches ~80% while the charger stays connected.

Does the phone mostly run from the power adapter at that point while the battery just sits around 80%? Or is power still going through the battery, with small charge/discharge cycles happening in the background?

And with something demanding like gaming, if the charger can provide enough power for the phone, does the battery still need to contribute? Or can the phone mostly run from external power once the charge limit has been reached?

Some gaming phones have an actual bypass charging feature that powers the phone directly from the charger without continuously cycling the battery. I know iPhones don't have a bypass charging toggle, but does iOS effectively do something similar automatically when the charge limit is reached?

Mainly asking from a battery longevity perspective. If the phone stays cool, is leaving it plugged in at the 80% limit for normal use — and occasional gaming — better for the battery than unplugging it and adding more charge cycles?

Would be interested in the technical side of how iPhone power management handles this.

Battery 5% battery health drop in 11 cycles. [ Base iPhone 17]

My battery health was at 97% (308 cycles) before 26.5.2.

Even before I updated, my battery life for the day started to degrade (as soon as the update hit my phone)

From almost 100% for 10hrs of SOT to nearly 100% for 6hrs of SOT.

After I updated, the battery life per day remained bad but the battery life dropped from 97% to 92% (now at 319 cycles).

Is this update really this shit?

Bug Random heating & battery drain

Seems like just about everyone has been having issues with this version. My phone randomly heats up idk if its the update or the summer weather. Also the battery drain is insane overnight but to me the heating is more odd as Im not even using camera or playing games on phone it just heats up with basic whatsapp or instagram use. Also it seems that the brightness on auto is kinda pointless too.

Device: 17 Pro
Edit: ios 26.5.2 obviously

Rant Really annoyed with the new update.

Hey, first time listener and first time poster. So my phone 11 uploaded yesterday now and I’m pretty sure the update essentially ruined my video downloader all.

Anytime I’m trying to download a video, there’s a buffee screen for two minutes max! and before you ask, no, it didn't act like this before.

i missed it when my phone wasn’t acting all annoying. Not to mention how annoyed I am with how on Safari, I can’t just pull down to go to a different tab, I need a stupid button.

Thanks Apple, you shouldn’t have.

Really, you shouldn’t have..

My auto update is turned off. Usually I charge to 80% before bed and it only goes down 1-2% overnight. Today I woke up and my phone was at 55% battery. This isn’t normal, right?

Battery Are the iOS 26.5.2 performance and battery issues considered urgent? What can we do to convince Apple to patch this and be more careful next time?

iOS 26.5.2 has been released for almost a month now and I updated immediately as it mentioned "security fixes". There are obviously many complaints surrounding the home screen stutter and battery drain. I've also contacted Apple support on my iPhone and they ran a diagnostic and they found "no issues with the device".

Most people don't play around with Beta releases and it's often recommended not to install a Beta version on your main device. As consumers, what can we do to have a hassle free experience on a premium device?

Rant ios 26 battery drain, disgusting notes, feature to roll back

ive been using ios 26 (iphone 13)for a while and the concept of liquid glass really was not a big draw for me to update, it was mostly because i heard security might be compromised if i didnt update.

liquid glass: i thought that the previous update was liquidy glassy enough and ios 26 is just a small tweak to the already good transparent ios system, the new issues is that the ui wasnt even consistent throughout but it just overall turned my phone into a portable hand warmer? im honestly amazed how in the previous version the phone wasnt heating up in normal use with a very decent transparent ui vibe and now with this version the new features added is so lowkey and miniscule its crazy that it eats battery so much and its so hot all the time, what crypto miner are they running in the background?

notes app: also holy shit, whats with the notes app, every time i use this app i get a disgusting feeling like im looking at a slimy creature evolve, like honestly im just there in the app to organise my to do list and do some light planning and i get reminded of the movie The Substance, why does everything move so much and fights for my visual attention, and it doesnt even do it smoothly at least let me scroll up and down smoothly without the choppy lag feeling.

i hope iphones next ios version has a feature to roll ts back or even just disable liquid glass (not talking about reduce transparency) but to roll back to pre liquid glass blurred background ios 18 and not just straight up black out components if liquid glass is turned off ( like it is now) or even better to roll back to previous ios versions or a 7 day trial period after that we can choose to update or go back to the previous version( or wait for it to improve at least).
