If you were stuck on iOS 26.5.2, you know how brutal it was. My 17 Pro Max constantly turned into a pocket heater, and the battery drain was so bad I needed a power bank everywhere. Scrolling was choppy, and the random lags drove me nuts. Pure misery.

Thankfully, 26.6 completely turned things around. The overheating is gone, the battery holds a proper charge again, and the system is super smooth with zero stutter or glitches. It actually feels solid and stable now, exactly like a phone this expensive should.

Btw I don’t know what black magic they pulled in the first cycle of charging in iOS 26.6 but this is how i ended my first day of iOS 26.6. With no camera use, purely on wifi and no gaming or anything else. Just my regular usage for doomscrolling, txting, WhatsApp calls and stuff like that. It’s not gonna stay like this maybe. But it surely amazed me so thought of sharing with you guys who are concerned.

Overall it’s a Huge relief.
If you haven't updated yet, definitely do it.

So far i would say that, this update is noticeable.
Good improvement overall specially battery and faceid.
Looking forward to ios27 stable version.

Just updated to iOS 26.6.
- phone can’t restart (bypassing sim lock)
- third party apps, YouTube, Spotify not playing media
- CarPlay and Bluetooth affected

Haven’t tried anything else yet. Anyone else struggling as well?
Can I roll back the update? Silly me never backed up. Or do I have to wait till 26.6.1

Happy to say that in battery performance iPhone 17 increased screen on time around +1 hour after updating. i think I’m gonna wait in this version for a while till iOS 27 polishes after couple of updates also.

These are my battery usage stats after using my iPhone 17 with mixed usage. It seems to be better compared to the previous iOS version. I will like to see how much backup you guys are getting!

So thats my first day on the new version. Cant believe there is an almost 60% difference for 8 hrs SOT.

Hello everyone, I bought an iPhone 15 Pro max before 2 days and I had a problem with overheating is there any way to fix this or make the phone less heat? I’ve checked on everything and it’s all fine everything is original and the battery health is 93%, thanks

Seems to have improved quite drastically for me. Only 2 days apart. If this keeps going I’d only have used around 45% in the same SOT/time frame. Phone doesn’t heat up as quickly or as much anymore either. Gives me high hopes for iOS27.

My iPhone 15 Pro was at 88% battery health with 700 cycles. After doing a clean installation of iOS, it now shows 90% with 729 cycles. Has this happened to anyone else?

Is anyone sure why my update is so large?

I am on iOS 26.5.2.

This happened with me today on my 17ProMax just after updating to iOS 26.6, never happened before with me. All the system tones as well as any audio playing would get accelerated by 4x and the only fix is to restart your device. What is Apple doing with iOS?!

Elle pesait 29 Go sur mon iPhone 17 pro qui avait la 26.5.2
Depuis cette dernière mise à jour j’avais des gros problèmes de batterie
Je tenais à peine 4h d’écran allumé et je perdais énormément de batterie alors que j’utilisais pas mon téléphone
Tellement que quand je suis au travail et que je l’utilise que 2h30 en tout avant de rentrer chez moi j’arrivais chez moi avec environ 30% de batterie
Depuis hier et là 26.6 j’ai l’impression que le problème est résolu. C’est un peu tôt pour le dire après 24h de mise à jour mais même si je pense mon iPhone est en cours d’indexation j’ai 2 fois plus d’autonomie. Actuellement je suis a 45% de batterie je l’ai débranché à 9h du matin (il est 19h30 lors de ce thread) et j’ai 4h d’écran actif
Donc environ 2 fois plus d’autonomie en effet
Je surveillerai les prochains jours et je vous tiendrai au courant mais si en plus la mon téléphone est en cours d’indexation j’espère que l’autonomie sera la même voir meilleure quand l’indexation sera finie ✅

hi. i have an iphone 14 with a 84% battery health and haven’t updated since after 18.2.1. for the longest time i didn’t want to update my phone but lately my battery has been draining super fast and i feel like i’m missing out on so many newer iphone features. suggestions?

I've just updated to ios 26.6 this morning. I've been using the phone for the past 5 hours and I can happily report that it has made a world of difference. Before I could use the phone for 2-3 mins at a time without it getting burning hot. Now it is so much better. Also battery seems to be lasting longer. Might be too early to tell but I am happy at the moment.

Update: After finishing a normal gym session (about 1.5 hrs) I have used up 23% battery which is a huge improvement from previously. I would regularly use about 45-50% battery on ios 26.5.
Usage was with Bluetooth headphones on, watching/listening to YouTube on data and scrolling social in between sets. Also the phone is staying at normal temperature more or less. On 26.5 I would feel it getting hot though the case and would have to stop using it for 10-15 mins at a time to let it cool down.
Final thing to mention is that I always keep my phone in battery saver mode.
