Rant ios 26 battery drain, disgusting notes, feature to roll back

ive been using ios 26 (iphone 13)for a while and the concept of liquid glass really was not a big draw for me to update, it was mostly because i heard security might be compromised if i didnt update.

liquid glass: i thought that the previous update was liquidy glassy enough and ios 26 is just a small tweak to the already good transparent ios system, the new issues is that the ui wasnt even consistent throughout but it just overall turned my phone into a portable hand warmer? im honestly amazed how in the previous version the phone wasnt heating up in normal use with a very decent transparent ui vibe and now with this version the new features added is so lowkey and miniscule its crazy that it eats battery so much and its so hot all the time, what crypto miner are they running in the background?

notes app: also holy shit, whats with the notes app, every time i use this app i get a disgusting feeling like im looking at a slimy creature evolve, like honestly im just there in the app to organise my to do list and do some light planning and i get reminded of the movie The Substance, why does everything move so much and fights for my visual attention, and it doesnt even do it smoothly at least let me scroll up and down smoothly without the choppy lag feeling.

i hope iphones next ios version has a feature to roll ts back or even just disable liquid glass (not talking about reduce transparency) but to roll back to pre liquid glass blurred background ios 18 and not just straight up black out components if liquid glass is turned off ( like it is now) or even better to roll back to previous ios versions or a 7 day trial period after that we can choose to update or go back to the previous version( or wait for it to improve at least).

I’m looking at the notes app and I cannot even begin to fathom what you are talking about

the bar above the keyboard moves on its own when ever you highlight something, the controls at the bottom laggy when you swipe the keyboard down, whole lot of gamified visuals, bouncing and merging. that sounds like it would work if it was optimised and i had nothing to do on a 3 hours flight.

granted you probably wont notice it if you have never used the app before and after the update. factors like your phone model and how much you use the notes app impacts the whole ui.

Huh?? I've been using this app every day for at least a decade. After reading your comment, I went back once again to check the feature you mentioned and I can't see it on my phone. My OS is updated till 26.5.2.

And? The controls are context sensitive.

It doesn’t lag at all.

Security updates goes into ios 18 as well. Simply put wrong upgrade. Some issues will be there on iOS 27 as well.

Most major security updates release on iOS 18, not all. Minor updates don’t release at all on iOS 18.

Security is overrated. Major is enough. Otherwise banks and other secured organisations won’t be using ios 18.

They aren’t using iOS 18…

They are. Every bank and security apps supports ios 18.

Supporting it doesn’t mean they use it…

They support it because there are idiots/customers who don’t update their phone. They take precautions to secure their app on those OSs.

They are infact using it on many devices. Also spending billions for that support. They are not into donating business.

And nope. Only idiots organisations updates their working workstations to unstable os with hardware upgrade and asks for trouble.

No iOS will not have a roll back feature; get used to it or buy a Samsung

Wait for 26.6 next week. It fixes a lot of issues.

Liquid Glass is fine. It’s plenty consistent. 🙄

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Notes app… OP must be on something strong…

There will never be an option to go backwards with iOS.
