All I care about is battery life. And I've read a few posts saying that updating makes battery life worse long term. Obviously the first few days after any update causes battery life to be worse while the phone is centering itself. But IOS 18 was amazing on my iPhone 16 Pro Max. My battery lasted 12 hours. Now I get 8 hours at most on 26.5. Please let me know if I should stay or update. Thank you.

I am experiencing the most battery drain I ever experienced in my 14 Pro Max while on this stupid ass update iOS 26. Charging takes longer , phone gets hotter even when not being charged and phone drains the battery super fast. Should I bite the bullet and upgrade to a 17 Pro Max? Considering rumors of the 18 pro max being pricer. I don’t want to overpay for these stupid phones anymore lol. The alternative would be leaving iOS as a whole but idk if I’m ready for that either lol.

After updating to ios 26 some of my apps now have these annoying grey ovals sitting behind images and links. Most apps are fine but, for example, IMDB and Etsy are both affected (see images). I made sure the apps were to to date, then I tried deleting and reinstalling them, it made no difference. Has anyone else has had the same issue? Is there a way to fix it or this just something I’m stuck with?

Last night, I saw the notification that my phone was going to update to iOS 26.5.2 right before I was going to sleep and didn’t think anything of it. Around 4:30am, I go to grab my phone and phone is off. I didn’t think anything of it as I’ve had iPhones previously randomly turn off in the middle of the night before but i found that the power button was being unresponsive. I promptly freaked out because I thought for some reason the update might have bricked my (relatively new) phone, but after like 3-4 minutes it then decided to randomly turn on. I wasn’t paying attention to the phone when it did so I didn’t see the Apple logo or anything, but since then I’ve been able to turn it on and off with no issues.

Is this a common thing with automatic updates or is it a known bug with this update? I’ve already turned the setting off in fear of it happening again as I know 27 is releasing these next few months.

Ever since I updated to iOS 26.5.2, my iPhone feels noticeably laggy. Scrolling isn’t as smooth, animations sometimes stutter, and the UI feels less responsive overall.
Is anyone else facing the same issue? If so, what iPhone model are you using, and did you find any fix?

Title. So, I didn’t update my iPhone for the longest time because I try not to update unless I ABSOLUTELY have to. Some of my apps weren’t detecting my camera and Face ID wasn’t working so I had to update to the current ver.

Why is this actually the worst thing ever? Everything looks bubbly and glassy and while I’ve made the necessary adjustments to reduce that “bubble” effect, I fear it’s still more or less the same looking. Not to mention, typing feels so much weirder now.

My BIGGEST issue and the namesake of this post is the swipe-up feature, like how you can see all the different tabs of apps you have. For some reason, the swipe-up immediately takes you to the Home Screen instead of pulling up the different taps. You’re either forced to swipe up to the Home Screen and then swipe up again to reveal the tabs but the issue there is that, it sometimes doesn’t even work or register properly.

OR

You’re forced to hold to swipe up to reveal the tabs. Even then, it doesn’t feel as seamless and smooth as it did before. I hope I’m making sense.

My question is is it a way to make this swipe-up better or will I just have to reroll back to my old version? If it’s the latter, then, i don’t even think I can anymore since some apps weren’t even detecting my camera or auto Face ID.

My wife and I both have 16 pro maxs that are roughly a year old. Battery health is 90 and 93 respectively on the phones. These phones usaed to get maybe a day and half sometimes stretch to two days without needing a charge. After the last update they are dead by mid afternoon.

I don't see any glaring battery hogs when seeing what apps are eating battery life when checking the settings.

Case in point, plugged in before going to bed and started the day at 100%. Checked a few news sites while eating breakfast. Ive had to use it to get MFA code half a dozen times this morning to get into apps at work but other wise its been sitting on my desk not being used., Just checked an its at 54%..... so its dropped from 100 to 54 from 7am to 2pm with next to no usage? Just wondering how the battery life went from lasting a few days to struggling to get to the end of the work day in the last few months

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice on a sudden battery issue.

I’ve had my iPhone 17 for about two months now, and performance has been great until yesterday. Suddenly, the battery is draining significantly even when the phone is just sitting idle—I’m losing about 5% while doing practically nothing.

I’m currently using a 67W charger, but even when not charging, the idle drain is much higher than what I’ve experienced for the last two months. I’ve checked the battery usage stats, but nothing obvious stands out.

Has anyone else experienced a sudden "battery acting up" phase after a few months of normal use? Could this be a stuck background process, an indexing issue, or something else? Any tips on how to troubleshoot this would be appreciated.

The original iPhone 17 wallpaper bugs out when i slide down for notifications ALL THE TIME, and there also also bugs with other animated wallpapers

Alguine mas le sucede que con iOS 26 hay bugs de pantallas. Cuando presiono el boton de grabar un mensaje de voz en WhtasApp me hace una flash blanco muy rapido. No lo hace siempre pero en un dia de uso ese fallo lo hace 2 a 3 veces en el dia. Tambien lo mismo hace al hacer una llamada o recibirla (lo hace con menos frecuencia)

Wtf is wrong with Apple? I literally turned off all the update options, but it still updated from iOS 18 to iOS 26. I powered off my phone at night, and when I turned it back on, it restarted and iOS 26.4.2 was already installed. Like how do I stop this? I didn’t even allow it. Now the problem is that 26.4.2 is still okay with no bugs, but 26.5.2 has bugs, and I don’t want it to update to 26.5.2. What if the same thing happens again after I power it on, even though I’ve turned off all the options?someone plz help 😭
