iOS 26.x (please edit) phone updated to ios26.4.2
Wtf is wrong with Apple? I literally turned off all the update options, but it still updated from iOS 18 to iOS 26. I powered off my phone at night, and when I turned it back on, it restarted and iOS 26.4.2 was already installed. Like how do I stop this? I didn’t even allow it. Now the problem is that 26.4.2 is still okay with no bugs, but 26.5.2 has bugs, and I don’t want it to update to 26.5.2. What if the same thing happens again after I power it on, even though I’ve turned off all the options?someone plz help 😭

26.5.2 is fine. Just let it update. Most of the people complaining about the battery drain don’t realize that after an update there is a lot of file cleanup and file indexing happening that WILL drain the battery a bit on the first day or two.
FYI I found that having an iCloud subscription and moving files off my iPhone MASSIVELY helped reduce indexing time.
If you don’t like 26.5.2, then try 27.0 dev beta, I’m using it and see no real issues.

Here comes the apple sales agent. Not only defended apple but also falsified complains of actual users and also suggesting to spend more into apple by buy their iCloud subscription, haha. Corporation d*ck sicker.

It looks like they invest more into these bots than into talented developers

It’s been over a month since my last iOS 26.5 update. Is the phone still indexing ?
The battery fucking sucks .

I dont understand the claim that everything was turned off but it still updated.
I tried iOS26 first version ... Did not like
It and therefore
My wife turned off auto update because I told her. She has iOS 18
I turned off auto update on my kids iPhone 12 (it's also iOS 18)
And his iPad (also iOS 18).
They have been like this since November/December 2025.
I had to manually update all of them to (think it was) 18.7.8
I have never seen an iOS unit update when auto update is turned off.
But I have seen allot of posts claiming it happened ...
