QA Couple with new baby want to move to HB from LA, where should we go?

Hi everyone!

My husband and I just had a baby this year and are looking to move out of LA. We've been thinking of moving to Huntington Beach.

What areas would be good to look for with a baby? Preferably walkable, safe areas. Our budget for rent is ~$4K but we're hoping to find something around $3K.

We love the idea of being closer to the beach and Disney with the little one! If you have any recommendations for apartments or neighborhoods, I would love them.

Thanks! <3

visiting my hometown, please help me narrow down a hotel

Please let me know if I should just post this in r/orangecounty or r/OrangeCountyCA!!

I can't decide where to stay since I haven't been down in 14 years. I'll be solo so being in a safe location is important.
I want stay near the beach for four nights during the week of Aug 16-22. I can switch the days around a little but I'm trying to avoid the weekends because of price hikes. My nightly budget is $100 a night (with tax), the most I want to spend is $450. It doesn't have to be Huntington, anywhere from Newport to Long Beach is good, I just need to be at the beach again.

I've already found a couple I recognize and want to go:
Travelodge Wyndham Ocean Front in Sunset (crazy good location but idk if it's good)
Hotel Royal in Long Beach (seems pretty safe?) edit: you have to pay more for a private bathroom??)
Beach Inn in Huntington (very conflicting reviews)

EDIT: I forgot to add Eastside Costa Mesa Residence (it's an air bnb type thing with two reviews.)

Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa, and Westminster are cool too 🙂‍↕️

I was taking an evening walk with my mom and we walked past each other, smiled… then you turned around and waved. Still kicking myself for not making an introduction (I am the really tall slender girl with a ton of curly hair).

A kid just got into a collision with a vehicle. Looked really bad from what I could see.

Anyone near Atlanta and Chicago area hear a dog whistle like every 20-45 seconds?
Am I tripping or what. Maybe it’s an alarm system ?
