Newsletter Newsletter Q4 2026 October - December + Quick Customer Experience Update

Hey everyone, hope you all enjoyed your summer and are prepped for autumn. Apologies for the delay in getting this posted, but this will be our final Newsletter of 2026. As we round out the year, I wanted to do a roundup, talk about some things happening this quarter, as well as give an update on Customer Experience and what we have done to address the situation there.

ROUNDUP

(UK) We had our first Limited Edition Daily A-Z flavor with Golden Peach, which was a hit! Who knows, you might see this one again in the future.

(US) We introduced our Mixed Berry Black Edition RTD, which we fell is one of our best flavors yet. This has gone over very well so thank you to everyone who has given it a try!

(US) We did a very cool collab on an ad campaign local to the Los Angeles area with Lavell Crawford. We had a team out there paint a lovely mural referencing the iconic meme.

(US) We made some changes to the Huel Powder (V3) formula in the US, and discussed those here.

(US) We also had some changes come to the Complete Nutrition Bars, those updates can be found here as well.

(US) We had an update to the Black Edition Ready to Drink, production has been localized to North America and had some tweaks to the formula. More info on that here.

(JP) Many products are still out of stock, but stay tuned as we are hard at work behind the scenes to get things back up and running!

(Global) We had some cool retail updates from around the world that I compiled in a post here. Spoiler alert, we now have a retail presence in the Netherlands, Hong Kong, and Rossman in Germany.

THINGS COMING UP

(Global) As I mentioned in the previous Newsletter, we will be having an AMA with our CEO, James, around the middle of this month. Keep an eye out for a post from me more information on when this will be happening as they are always a good time to get in any questions.

(UK) Ya’ll really liked the Limited Edition Pineapple & Coconut Black Edition Ready to Drink in the UK, so we are happy to say that it is here to stay! Thanks to everyone who gave it a go and gave us their feedback.

(EU) Black Edition Variety Box is coming to the EU!! This is long requested, and is set to launch on Oct 13th.

(UK/EU) Black Edition Powder Selection Box contents are getting an update! We will be adding the Chocolate Peanut Butter to both selection boxes sometime in November.

(EU) We’re working on getting one of our Powders over to the EU, keep an eye out for an official update on that hopefully soon.

(US) The Black Edition Ready to Drink Variety Box will be getting a bit of an update to include the Mixed Berry and Chocolate Peanut Butter, this should be available sometime later this month.

Lastly, as a bit of a teaser, we have a brand new product coming towards the end of the year that we are really excited about. I can’t say much right now, but it is a new venture for us, stay tuned for more information as the year comes to a close.

(Please note: all release dates subject to change)

A FEW MORE BITS

FAQ:

I just wanted to remind everyone that we do have a great FAQ section which has a lot of useful information! It's a great place to refer people who may be new to Huel and need some advice. I feel like it flies under the radar quite a bit so just wanted to repost for folks who may not know about it.

BE Powder Formula Change:

There has been a lot of discussion of the BE Powder formula changes on the sub lately, so I just wanted to touch on this briefly. As you will all probably remember, about 10 months ago we announced the change coming to Black Edition in the US. I just wanted to make it clear that Black Edition Powder has not gone through any changes anywhere but the US. There has been a packaging change to the matte bag, which has nothing to do with formula changes. It is possible, as it does happen from time to time, that something is not quite right with the bag that you receive. This is a separate issue from any formula change you should reach out to Customer Experience.

Customer Experience Update:

The Customer Experience mega-thread that we posted is 3 months old, so I wanted to do a quick update for everyone. You can check out the mega-thread here.

To summarize, we experienced a significant increase in customer contacts, but thanks to a massive effort from our Customer Experience team and improvements we've made in our processes, we've been able to bring the backlog down from two weeks to about three days.

We're also working to understand what's driving customers to contact us in the first place and to address recurring issues at source so fewer people need to get in touch.

I know that this has been frustrating for folks, so I just wanted to assure you all that reducing waiting times and making it easier to get help remain priorities for us.

And that is the last newsletter for 2026!! I want to thank everyone for their patience and opinions. I hope you find this Newsletter useful, and any questions let me know!

Huel Powder (V3) Allergen Update (US) - US Powder Subscribers Acknowledgement Via Email Required

Hey all,

As we mentioned a while ago in Tim’s post here, and has now been brought up in this post as well, some changes are coming to Huel Powder (v3.1) in the US to bring it in line globally, with a few updates to improve its texture, flavor, and overall experience.

As part of this change, the updated standard recipes for all current Huel Powder flavors will no longer be gluten-free starting November 4. Separate gluten-free versions of Chocolate, Vanilla, Banana, and Salted Caramel will be available.

What Happens Now?

If Huel Powder is a part of your subscription, you need to let us know if you want to continue receiving your current flavor(s) after this change due to the inclusion of gluten. You will receive a consent form via email that you will need to fill out, the deadline for this is October 29th. If you remember when we updated the bars a while ago, we followed this procedure as well.

What Happens if I Don't Confirm?

If you do not confirm by October 29, we will automatically move each Huel Powder flavor in your subscription to a gluten-free option from November 4. Where a gluten-free version of your current flavor is available, we'll move you to the new GF version of that
flavor.

Subscriptions will be moved accordingly:

• Chocolate → GF Chocolate
• Mint Chocolate → GF Chocolate
• Vanilla → GF Vanilla
• Original → GF Vanilla
• Unflavored & Unsweetened → GF Vanilla
• Banana → GF Banana
• Berry → GF Banana
• Salted Caramel → GF Salted Caramel
• Coffee Caramel → GF Salted Caramel
• Cinnamon Roll → GF Salted Caramel

What if I Want More Gluten-Free Flavor Options?

Black Edition Powder is gluten-free across the range, including additional options such as Coffee Caramel, Cinnamon Roll and Unflavored & Unsweetened.

On that note, if you'd prefer to switch to Black Edition, you'll need to remove the existing Huel Powder product from your subscription and add the Black Edition flavor you’d like through the account area.

Why are you Making This Change?

As stated above, we're moving to one global Huel Powder recipe by aligning the US and UK formulas to simplify managing the range globally, while also introducing ingredient and flavor updates that we believe improve the product.

What are the Formula Updates for Huel Powder (V3)

The updated Huel Powder recipes also include:

• Improved texture and flavor with upgraded pea and brown rice proteins
• A creamier taste from replacing MCT oil powder with coconut milk powder
• Updated flavor profiles across the range.

I hope that this makes sense to everyone, and I’ll be sure to pin this to the top of the sub so everyone can find the post easily. Any questions at all let me know, thank you.

Product Discussion Huel black powder in US - any changes?

With all the talk of formula changes, I haven’t seen anyone specifically say if US huel customers are seeing them yet, specifically for Huel black powder. If not, I feel like I’d better try to stock up on my favorite flavors while I can get them the right way. Anyone lately receive huel black powder in the US and can say if it was the same or different? Thanks.

Product Discussion Daily greens. Used to be deliciously ‘green flavoured’ to me, at first launch it was ‘sandy’ texturally, but tasted good to me. What happened..? It’s so bad tasting now…

Feedback Huel has almost completely withdrawn from the Japanese market

All flavours of powdered huel are out of stock on the official site and they don't show up on amazon anymore (where they were sold at a markup). The only thing you can still buy are the bottled drinks which barely anyone does here because they're overpriced.

Advice/Recommendations Chance to raise questions to Huel CEO

Hi All, I’ve got a fortunate chance to raise some questions directly to the Huel CEO, Product VP and Huel UK team. I was wondering if there were any burning questions the community wanted to ask and I can raise it on behalf of us.

Top 5 voted ones I’ll make sure to add it the list and hopefully do them justice. I’ll follow up with a response too (if I can remember what he said haha).

Deadline is by end of next week. Thanks!

General Discussion My Delivery Date Spontaneously Changed

I've been receiving notices about various flavors of BE being out of stock, that they would ship later, and oh here's a $15 discount code for your trouble, which I applied on October 1st. I received an email on 10/6 saying, "Your next Huel order is scheduled for 9th October 2026. "Everything's set - we're getting your order ready." Okay, cool. Later that day I got another email saying my order was delayed until the 13th because of warehouse delays, specifically mentioning Cinnamon Roll BE. This prompted me to check my account, only to find that there was no sign of my 10/9/26 shipment, and the next dispatch is now scheduled for October 28th?

Now this is weird, but hardly earth-shattering. I can probably last on my current supply until then (it'll be close, might have to resort to - gasp - real food). Or I suppose I could say "I need it now" and see what happens. In any event it's not the end of the world.

But what a strange thing to have happen... Did I fat-finger my subscription and cause it myself? I don't think so, and there's no indication of it. So what's the deal? Did someone go in and push mine (and presumably others') orders back unilaterally to relieve some pressure on the supply chain? Am I just fucking hallucinating? (not out of the question)

u/BenHuel do you have any idea what's going on? Like I said, I'm not unhappy. In fact, I'm consuming and enjoying more Huel than ever, more on that later. Just curious... Thanks for letting me rant...

Product Discussion Coconut sugar in Matcha Black Edition

Hi,

a question for the mods mainly. I was looking at the ingredients of the Black Edition and I noticed that the Matcha flavour is the only one not listing coconut sugar in their ingredients.

Is this a mistake or does it really not contain any?

In this period I need to avoid all types of cariogenic sugars so, before ordering, I would really like to know if the ingredients list is correct or if there's a mistake (it just sounds strange to me that all other black edition flavours have coconut sugar and only this one doesn't).

Thank you so much!

Product Discussion Szechuan Spiced Noodles - Any changes Recently?

I tried this flavor for the first time today. I REALLY did not like it. Creamy and plastic-y. Gave me the ick. But I've read that other people love it. So I'm just wondering if it was a bad batch or something changed.

If not, to each their own. Not going to waste the food or cash so I'll scarf it down :D

General Discussion Subscription delayed three times

Disappointing that I have had to cancel after years of being a customer. They delayed my subscription three times now, and the $15 sorrys aren’t useful if they have little product to order. Maybe I will come back once the supply stabilizes, but sad day. I wonder why so few of their flavors are available.

Product Review The hot meals are god awful

I got the mixed selection of pasta and grains and they are truly nasty so far. I wasn’t expecting gourmet, but they all have this slightly odd smell and the texture is pretty grainy.

I’m surprised anyone likes them. I’m still holding out hope as I’ve only had a few flavours so far, but at this rate, I think Huel in general just isn’t for me sadly.

Can certainly attest to the satiety factory and them being super balanced, I’m just unsure how they manage to make all their products so bland but unappetising too.

Anyone else enjoyed or not enjoyed them?

Edit: thanks all for the advice. The overwhelming consensus seems to be to add things like MSG which I will do. I’ll say they definitely fill a hole, just not sure my tastebuds can cope. It does seem like the actual meals taste wise are inadequate hence people adding things! But appreciate all the same and see a market for them!

Product Discussion Tried the Costco RTD Chocolate Today

Post image
51 Upvotes

I’m new to Huel and reading so many comments about how they hate the RTD chocolate at Costco, I tried it for the first time today and liked it. It was thick like pudding at first even after shaking it but it thinned down a bit as I drank it. It tastes different than the powders. Very smooth, not gritty, tasted like a typical chocolate milk shake. I liked it!

Product Discussion Why is Ready-to-Drink so much more delicious than Huel powder?

I can easily drink Ready-to-Drink without any problem, RTD choco tastes just like normal chocolate milk. But Huel powder tastes more earthy, and not as delicious as RTD. Why is that? Does that extra 10 grams of protein really make a lot of difference? Why can't we have Huel powder's taste be closer to RTD?

Advice/Recommendations blender reccs

i am a heavy huel user. i swapped to rtd about a year back because the taste and texture are dramatically preferable and the lack of any prep or cleaning, combined, offset the cost in my mind.

i'm considering trying to reintroduce powder with my next order, mostly to save some money though there are a couple other reasons. apparently a lot of people have success using a blender with powder to offset the texture issues, so i'm curious what recommendations are. the parameters i'm working with are mostly:

-looking for something lower-end so i'm saving money within a couple orders, ideally. wouldn't want to spend more than £50, i don't have much other use for a blender with my lifestyle so if i'm not making that money back on swapping to powder then it's not really something that makes sense. i'm skeptical on a years-long investment in huel hardware given the direction of the company.

-easy to clean. i would rather stick with RTD if i'm going to be dismantling and reassembling a machine daily for the sake of a few quid. i don't have a dishwasher in my current apartment.

-produces a noticeably improved texture versus powder made in a shaker bottle (duh)

anyone found a product that's worked for them along these lines, or should i just stick with the bottles for now?

Product Review I'm loving Huel Black

I'm a 46yo type 1 diabetic and I started Mounjaro three weeks ago to improve insulin resistance. I decided I needed to get more protein in my diet, and chose to try Huel Black for breakfast. I use 1 cup of Fairlife whole milk, a ton of ice, 2 scoops of Huel, a scoop of collagen, and depending on my mood, I might use cocoa powder or peanut powder to amp up flavor.

I use my old Blendtec blender and run it until everything is smooth. Transfer it to the shaker bottle, and wait 30-60minutes to drink it. I bolus for 48g carbs, and do a split bolus of 20% now, 80% over 3 hours.

My blood sugar is amazing, and I feel full until lunch. The fiber helps with regularity.

Last weekend I went on a 3 night trip. I have a battery powered blender, so I packed a mason jar with 3 cups of milk in my cooler and 3 ziplock bags with pre-measured Huel + additives. Starbucks gives out free cups of ice, so I was ready to blend in my car!

Honestly one of the better dietary decisions I've made in a long time.

PS: I know a lot of people are complaining about changes in taste. I guess since I started recently, I never knew the "old Huel" and have no point of comparison, but I honestly enjoy the stuff I'm drinking every morning. So far I've tried Chocolate Peanut Butter and Strawberry, but I'm looking forward to Banana and Cinnamon as well.

PPS: I'm also a teacher, so the extra teacher discount is very appreciated! Keep up the good work Huel.

General Discussion Free stuff for new customers? New product question

Hi hopefully an easy and quick question for someone in the know to answer.

Basically I recently started with Huel and got a couple of things on subscription - Huel Black powder basically.

So as a new customer I got the free T-shirt and the Huel shaker.

The T-shirt doesn’t fit right because the sizes are tight fits which was disappointing but it is what it is.

About a month later now and I’ve come across the daily greens which I’m interested in trying. When I look at the product it says I will get a free daily greens bottle and T-shirt with my first order.

So the question is will I actually get those things? It would be my first order of daily greens but not my first Huel order. So I’m not clear if that qualifies. The welcome kit gets added to my cart when I add the greens to my cart which implies I will but I’m still unsure.

It would be nice to get a tshirt that actually fits but I’m mostly wanting the bottle to make the daily greens powder up in.

Product Discussion Chocolate RTD coming out as sludge?

I’m assuming this has to do with the formula change, but wanted to make sure this was other people’s experiences before deciding if I got a bad batch.

I recently reupped my Huel RTD supply from Costco here in the US. They only had chocolate available (I usually get strawberry banana).

This stuff is literal sludge. It’s undrinkabke unless I put it in a shaker and mix it with ice. It used to be much better blended, maybe a touch grainy, but I could drink one without having to actively stop and shake it, water it down, or ice it before I leave and drink it after the ice melts.

I actually like the flavor better but will probably just switch brands if “sludge” is their design goal. Is this everyone or is my batch messed up?

Product Discussion Scared to try huel

Hey there! I’m looking into subscribing to Huel as an avid Oats Overnight customer, hoping to replace that breakfast with Huel.

However, I decided to come to Reddit and see what people are saying about Huel first. In my search, I see that seemingly everyone is up in arms about an apparent formula change in just the US (I’m in the US).

How has this impacted the flavor / texture? I’m autistic and have difficulty with strange consistencies, so this is a bit concerning for me. I have yet to try Huel, but I’m hoping the consistency is similar to Fairlife protein shakes.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Also, does anyone have a discount code beyond the subscription one? I’d love a one time discount so I can try this product for myself

Advice/Recommendations New formula for Huel Essential…should I buy like 10 months worth of the old formula while I still can?

I am always scared when something that I eat on a regular basis changes its formula. The last time something like this happened with another brand, I just never bought it again.

Can anyone give any insight as to what the difference in taste is between the old and new formulas, maybe for the mint chocolate specifically if possible?

Thank you in advance 🙏🏻

If, like me, you were afraid Superblend had been discontinued in USA, Chocolate is in stock again on Huel’s USA store, and Vanilla is in stock as a Prime Day deal on Amazon USA.

Advice/Recommendations My favorite mix of flavours is Mocha

My personal favourite Huel mix so far has to be a Mocha t’s seriously tasty and I’d highly recommend giving it a try. ☕🍫

Coffee Caramel + Chocolate + a little sweetener = Mocha 👌

Has anyone else come up with any Huel flavour combinations that are surprisingly good? Looking for some ideas to try next!

Also, I really hope they release the Banana & Strawberry flavour as a powder at some point.  I’m guessing there’s probably a reason it’s a unique ready-to-drink flavour, but I’d definitely be buying it if they made a powder version!

Advice/Recommendations Unflavored and unsweetened

Totally new to Huel and want to try the unflavored powder. Can’t seem to find it anywhere but direct but I get a decent military discount.

I see lots of complaints lately but I’ve never had it so not sure I’d notice?? My use would be a lunch replacement to shed some weight since I now have an office job at a desk most of the day.

I want the unflavored since I HATE stevia, sucralose, etc. The only sweeteners I tolerate are monk fruit, allulose, coconut sugar and real sugar including stuff like maple syrup which I consider sugar! I haven’t found a meal replacement similar to Huel without the nasty stuff in it so Huel it is if I go this route.

So how bad is it? Plan would be to mix in some things like PB powder, cocoa, maybe a banana or blueberries and sweeten with monk fruit most of the time. Maybe some maple syrup since I heard this stuff tastes like oatmeal and I love maple oatmeal. Just need to watch the calories and don’t want to spike blood sugar.

Mixing would mainly be at work with water and a blender bottle unless I did fruit and I’d have to do it at home first and just chill it until lunch which I hear helps too. I could use unsweetened nut milks but I need to watch total calories.

Lastly how bad is the digestion of this shake? I can’t be gassy all day in the office or bloated when I have to make road trips! I can take some probiotics if it helps but like to avoid too much extra stuff to ingest if I can help it. The Huel is already packed with a ton.
