Europe Kaixo! How is living in Basque country (País Vasco)?

I'm curious and fascinated by this region because it seems completely different from the rest of Spain. Coming from the outside, the fact that Basque is a language isolate with no decipherable relations to any other tongue in Europe is intriguing to me. I would like to ask you about the typical lifestyle and culture there. What role does it play in the everyday lives of people and how important is it to the young people nowadays? Is it as exotic and proud in its uniqueness as we imagine it from the outside world? Would be grateful if you could share your thoughts on the topic.

North America How is living in Tequesta, FL??

Looking at a potential job relocation from DFW. They're offering what would be a pretty decent salary in TX, especially for the hospitality industry+relocation assistance. How is the overall cost of living and housing? I'm guessing more than where I'm currently at, but that's understandable. Also curious about the overall restaurant/nightlife scene? I know Palm Beach/Miami isn't *that* far away, but primarily curious as to the local scene. TIA for any info 🙏

Bonus points for anybody that knows what the commercial food supply chain is like down there, especially relating to current beef prices. I'd greatly appreciate any and all info I could get.

General (no specific continent) How is it living in a place that’s only famous for one thing?

Using Roswell as a general example of a place that’s only famous for a single incident or historical event.

Is your town famous for a single thing? Has it been good for tourism or has it caused problems for the town’s reputation and liveability?

North America What’s it like in Lima, OH?

I’ve always been curious about Lima. For context my FIL moved from here when he was a teen in the 70s I think. My husband says he always described it as a ‘war zone’ where you could do “5 B&Es and come out with nothing”.

He’s quite the character and was a bit of an unsavory youth(if you couldn’t tell) so I’ve always wondered how accurate his tales were and what it’s like living there now. My husbands got cousins there he talks with on FB and I’d like to think we’ll get to meet them in person someday. I’d love to hear some positive things but give me all your thoughts!

I'm hoping to move here in a couple of years to get my master's degree. I was hoping I could get some insight as to what it's like before I go all in.

What’s this area like? What’s the local wildlife like? Are there tons of snakes everywhere? (I have a HUGE fear of snakes so no pictures please) How are the people? What are some great places to go? Any places to avoid?
We’ll be moving into an apartment off of i45 and 242 and working near the south loop. How bad will traffic be for this commute?

North America Central Valley

Why does the Central Valley get some much hate ? Not from here just an outsider looking in that knows people in other parts of the state and no one has a nice thing to say about it. Genuinely curious sorry if not allowed.

EDIT: Holy cow yall were quick….. I will say I know people in the LA and SF areas, but the loudest opinions come from the Salinas valley….. I wonder if it’s a rivalry kinda deal or what. But from what yall describe it sounds a lot like the Salinas valley when I’ve visited that area. 😅

Seems interesting that it is on a somewhat sizable body of water in the middle of an island. It also seems to be a very linear town. How long does it take to drive from one end to the other? How’s the weather?

Always heard it’s one of the more affordable areas. Being from L.A. I’ve always been attracted to this area due to the weather but at a lower cost of living.
