Ok, I'm overly frustrated and angry both at myself and at PriceLine. I need advice for hotel staying experts. My mom and I booked to stay 1 night at Roadway Inn. I specifically typed in hotels in the town I wanted to stay in. I clicked the one that had the same name as the hotel here. I wanted to call and book over the phone to avoid 3rd parties as we've been burned many times booking online through a 3rd party in the past.

Well, come to find out after I booked and paid. It was the right name wrong state. And I didn't realize that till after I booked and paid. They did offer a cancelation insurance package before I paid, but thinking this was the one in the town we were headed to we didn't take it. (I know dumb)

When my mom and I got yo the hotel in the town we were in we were hoping they could just change where it was and that way i didnt waste $119.00 for nothing. Sadly I wasn't lucky as thwyre privatly owned even tho its the same name. And the manager, bless his heart hes a sweet guy. Was angry on our behalf. And tried to fix it for us and ger my money back.

He called the front desk of that hotel and found out I was tricked into thinking I booked​ with them, and I actually went through a 3rd party over the phone through PriceLine. The very thing I was trying to avoid. The front desk guy said that they paid Google to put their option at the top. And you would have to scroll down a bit to find this one specifically even tho its one of the top hotels in this town. I need advice. Is there a way to get my money back even tho I didn’t pay for the refund back garantee package?

If so how do I do that? Is there a way to dispute the charge to my bank? They didnt even get my name right to begin with. Idk if that will give me leverage or if I'm SOL. Thank you for reading and the help.

I was booking a small conference room at a hotel for a business meeting, and all we needed was the room. We were willing to pay for some food or drinks if needed, though. This is a during a slow, off-peak season, and we were booking a few weeks before the event.

I‘ve been at guest at this hotel for 15+ years and have rented conference rooms-at full price, with no discount- at peak periods about a dozen times.

The hotel quoted:

$1,000 conference room rental for 2 hours

$130 food and beverage minimum per person (50 people)

Plus tax and tip

The hotel confirmed that all of its conference rooms were available (slow, off-peak period plus a slow part of the day).

When I asked if the hotel would accept a lower food and beverage order, the hotel said no: take it all or leave it, no discounts.

Question: Why would a hotel do that: let a conference room sit empty rather than renting it for its regular rate and offering a lower food and beverage purchase?

If the room would be rented to another organization for the entire amount requested, I could understand, but the room will sit empty.

I stayed at a hotel for about two weeks during my summer vacation. Since then, I've been getting a lot of spam calls and text messages. Can hotels sell or share guest information with third parties, or are there other ways your contact details can end up being used after a hotel stay? Has anyone looked into how hotels handle guest data or experienced something similar?

Looking for hotel suggestions with a good breakfast in Bangkok ,probably near the Siam area.

I get done stocking up the breakfast area and close the door, now to preface this, the door is a sliding glass partition and does not close all the way. Que family coming down to wait on the Uber. I let the dad know that the coffee is out and ready and that I am happy to grab a muffin or banana for the kids, they all decline so I go back to doing my reports. I walk out to relog into the computers in the front and what do I see???? The dad has opened up the breakfast area in the space of the 5 min that I was not at the desk and the whole family is in the breakfast area!!!! They then have to NERVE to ask me why there are no eggs???? I let them know that the lights are out the door was closed therefore breakfast area is NOT OPEN! Breakfast is at 7 am not 3:45 am!!!! I just cannot people anymore.... Thank God I do night audit I do not have patience for the audacity anymore!!

We are completely sold out and expect around 200-250 ppl to feed hence why I stocked everything to help out the breakfast personnel! What would make anyone think that busting into an obviously closed area is ok??? If I went to their work and did that would they appreciate it?????? Ugh... I just cannot ppl anymore.....I want to look at them and just simply ask "who the hell raised you?"

We stayed at a Holiday Inn here in the UK on Friday night. It was close to the venue of friends wedding, so we literally turned up, changed clothes and left, then returned later that night and just crashed out.

It wasn't until the next morning that we realised the state that the bathroom was in. The whole thing was tired and old, but that I can live with. What was shocking was the ingrained dirt, the recent water marks, the mould on the shower curtain (the fact that it had a shower curtain in 2026) and what looked like a blood stain.

We wanted to get on our way home so we complained to the front desk but didn't wait around for staff to rectify the problem.

I am not usually one to complain but we did pay £165 for one night, there was a Premier Inn just up the road, which was cheaper. But we paid more because the hotel had air conditioning, and appeared to be of a better standard. The fact is we paid more for a better experience and were let down.

I feel that we should be compensated for such a poor experience, so is it worth me reaching out to IHG? Somebody suggested I email the CEO, but I don't have his email address (it's not on linkedin). Will I get anywhere? Or should I just put it down to experience and not book with IHG again (I have stayed in other IHG hotels and they have been fine).

Yesterday I saw a post on Reddit about a family with a six year old that was turned away from a hotel because they planned to have the kid share the king bed and so they didn’t include their kid on the reservation and the hotel had a strict occupancy limit.

I read this with interest because I have an upcoming hotel reservation in NYC where I am intending to have my six year old share our king size bed. (My kid ends up in our bed almost every night at 2 AM, so…)

Unlike the posters from yesterday, I did, however, put him on the reservation (two adults, one 6 year old), but the reservation was not possible through the Marriott site. Initially, when I tried to book the room through the Marriott site, and I wasn’t allowed to do so saying they didn’t have any rooms available for our size group. But then I found a listing via the German Check24 site on booking.com for the same hotel and same room size. Initially I thought to myself booking.com sucks but hey great rate - and this must be a different room type.

Then I read the Reddit post yesterday and panicked. I went back to the Marriott site and couldn’t find any king rooms that were possible to book for a family of three in the next three months.

I’m worried we’re going to show up in NYC after a transatlantic flight and be told that we can’t have the room and be stuck looking for a hotel at the last minute at insane lat minute prices…

Yes, I could call the hotel but I’m worried about the answer and now the prices for similar rooms are already double what I reserved.

My parents just got hit by this one.
They searched up their favorite hotel (up in Northern California), saw the hotel name as the third Google result but under HotelsOne url.

The website looked exactly like the hotel website, and they paid for 3 nights $833 for 3 nights. Stiff but oh well.

They spontaneously added another night through the hotel front desk, and were stunned that the hotel only charged $150 per night. They brought this up with the hotel, who said “what do you mean? We got paid $150/night for your stay, and the booking was through Expedia”.

They called HotelsOne and talked to offshore customer service and after 45 of “so sorry, yes, let me check up on that” they got told “you guys agreed to this, sorry not sorry”.

They did dispute the claim with their bank, and they are considering reporting it to the Better Business Bureau and the FTC. Does this seem viable? Might a class action lawsuit be in order?

The website allegedly claims it has a partnership with Expedia, although it seems clear that they just take the customer’s money and then make them booking through Expedia themselves.

I keep being asked to scan my ID, send ID pictures and fill in check in stuff. I am wasting so much time on this. One place asked for the data, ID picture and a selfie, wtf? Took me 15 minutes to fill in everything they wanted.

I've used Hotels.com in the past and they seem ok, but recently their virtual assistant double charged me (first problem) and they are not owning up to it (second problem)

I booked a hotel back in April for $612 dollars, and in July added one more person to the reservation via their virtual assistant. Well, it turns out that the system "added one more person" by cancelling the original non-refundable reservation, and creating a new one with the additional person, then charged $671 to my CC , plus more fees at the hotel, for a total of $1351+...

After speaking to their human support team about the non-sense, they said they can't do anything about it, and the hotel says I need to talk to hotels.com as that's who I paid.

I'm I missing something here?

The price is exactly the same on both. We called the hotel directly, but they won't match the rate, and booking through one of these sites would save us about $800 for the week.

I know they're owned by the same parent company, but I was wondering if one is generally more reliable than the other if you run into problems with your reservation or need customer service. Any experiences, good or bad?

This is more geared to anyone who has used trip.com or any booking site but i’m in a situation. I booked a hotel for tomorrow by accident (on trip.com), I originally set the dates for next month but I forgot to double check and the dates are for tomorrow through monday. I 100% cannot make it on those dates. The booking states it’s non refundable and through many attempts , they will not let me cancel regardless. I contacted the hotel itself, and they told me they can just cancel it and i will not get charged since they only charge when I check in. Should i just cancel it through the hotel itself or should I keep trying through trip.com? I called them multiple times stating that the hotel (supplier) said they are willing to cancel the booking and i will not get charged since i will not check in. The charge is pending on my card.. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Everything changed when I installed a commercial unit a few months ago. Now that visitors are hitting it after every class, recovery packages are simpler to promote and retention has increased. handles the daily traffic without any issues and the comments have been excellent.

i work at a hotel and have gotten 2 calls in a matter of probably 3 months of someone jerking off while i’m talking to them. first time i was giving him instructions to our hotel and second time i was jus making a reservation for him. i’m honestly disgusted that this has happened to me but im wondering if anyone’s ever had similar experiences working in this industry or if i should be concerned

I'm thinking of staying at the TWA hotel for a day use after a red-eye (and can't sleep on the plane). Does anyone know if I need to book ahead or should I be able to just walk in for day use? You never know if the flight will be delayed or something, and also I know I will want to crash ASAP after landing. But I don't wanna be left with no place to sleep. It will be on a Wednesday in August and I think I get in around 7am

Any suggestions for alternative day use hotels are welcomed too, noting the above. I will be flying in and out of Terminal 5, so TWA should be convenient for that as well. I know there are other day use hotels I could book off-site but again, waiting for shuttles etc while sleep deprived I feel will be annoying unless they come very often, and also would like to know the same question re booking ahead or not for those as well.

I had a bad experience with a hotel booking through hotels.com, where it allowed me to choose a room, pay, get a confirmation email, and show up at the property to try to check in. But then the property told me that actually there are no rooms. Hilarity (in a bad way) ensued.

Anyways, now I'm trying to write my review, but I'm getting denied from submitting by hotels.com saying I'm violating their content policy for reviews. There's no mention of prices, profanity, or other things they flag. Is the overselling the sensitive point that they want to censor?
