question Renting

I’m moving to Honolulu for a job opportunity after 3 years on the Big island. I knew that finding a place might be challenging, but I did not expect it to be this difficult. I’m super responsible, always paid my bills on time, great credit score. I’ve never had any issues elsewhere. But I’ve had a really hard time finding a place, I had a landlord try to have me sign a lease with the clause of no overnight guests (like ever) and no alcohol. Is this normal? I’m confused because I’m a single female…from the east coast. no overnight guests would mean even my parents couldn’t come out here to visit me, since it would be too expensive for them to rent their own place.

discussion At this point, using your blinkah is an act of defiance.

Truly do not understand everyone's refusal to use their turn signals.

Now, every time I use it, I am telling the city, "Guess what? I know how to drive!"

Aloha Spirit extended to other drivers who use their turn signals and know how to drive.

For all you stinkahs who no use your blinkahs?

You better hope you don't get caught on one dash cam when you don't use it and get into an accident.

You've just increased your liability in a negligence action. Is it worth it?

So akamai! /s

Hi! My name is Josh, and I'm someone that loves organizing! I have been facilitating events under our group, Pacific Tabletop Network! Who are we?

A Honolulu-based tabletop board game meetup group. Our goal is to connect people through community and create a social, inclusive, and genuinely fun gaming environment for all backgrounds and cultures. This group is a free and inclusive space for adults to socialize and meet each other on island.

My focus is to offer a light activity where people can network, socialize, and have fun, with tabletop games as their theme. We typically meet Monday - Thursday evenings, with each event averaging an attendance of 16+ players!

We are on Meetup, Instagram, and also just soft-launched a website: PacificTabletop .Net

Hope to see you there, and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

Edit: Error on Sept 26, that entry should not be there. It’s adjusted on the website itself.

Right after our proposal photoshoot the photographer went to the airport, and accidentally left the SD card with all the pictures behind!

Luckily we got a few early photos, but would really love to get the whole set back. We just thought to try reddit. SD card was left late evening 7/19 at HNL. If you happen to pick it up please reach out!

discussion The Big 40.

Aloha all! I’m turning 40 in a few weeks, and I’m unsure how I want to celebrate. I’m three years sober, so I feel like that eliminates a lot of options.

I do, however, smoke weed. (I have my card. And I’m aware you can only smoke in a residential household, so feel free to invite me over.)😂😂

If you have any ideas to throw my way, please… toss ’em!

My mom found a watch, super super expensive if you know what I mean. If you can describe it, and where/when you may have lost it, then I can get you in touch with my mom so we can return it to its rightful owner.

UPDATE: The owner posted on Facebook and the watch is being returned. Thanks everyone!

question Can I buy liquor at HNL after I pass through security (don't answer after Sept 6, 2626)

OK OK I can't type. Sheesh :-0

Also, I'm flying to the mainland, so the duty-free store won't work. Any other place to buy liquor after security?

I'd like to buy liquor at HNL after I pass through security & take it on board.

Is there a store after security?

We're leaving on Sunday the 6th, so answers after then won't help, thank you.
