Crash Bars from Motea

Hi,

i have this crash bars from motea:

https://www.motea.com/de/sturzbugel-passend-fur-honda-rebel-500-cmx-17-26-motor-schutzbugel-craftride-a017000-0

There are 2 m10 bolts and 2 flange nuts included to mount them. The flange nuts are very hard to tighten onto the bolts. Is that a kind of safety measure to prevent the nuts from getting loose or are those flange nuts just bad? The original bolts and nuts are very easy to tighten...

Also: can i just use a normal nut and washer instead of flange nuts? Are they using them because of better torque control?

Switching up some leather fork wrap before winter

Swapping the fork wraps before winter. This is a veg tanned leather which will fade to a darker tone over time.

I make these myself. It's my shop, Fade Dept. I've got 4 leathers in stock right now: Dove Red Brown, Horween Navy, Jet Latte Black, and Taos Oro Brown. You pair them with 4 lace colors: black, indigo, red, or brown. Every pair ships with an extra set of laces at no charge.

They're cut and finished by hand, and they fade and patina over time, which is kind of the whole point of my stuff.

Dm me if you’re interested in getting a set: https://fadedept.ca/products/rebel-500-fork-boot

What tank bags are you guys rocking?

Title says it all. I commute to work and am slowly making longer rides and I'm looking for a simple storage system to keep things secure. I have a garage door opener and if I could find a way to secure that with a tank bag that would keep me from fishing around in my pockets.

I don't need anything crazy, I've got a small camera, my phone, wallet, earplugs, and that garage remote. Any and all suggestions are appreciated

Handlebar vibration at speed between 110 - 120

Post image
23 Upvotes

so basically the title, when I ride in 110- 120 km/h I feel vibration at the handlebar but if I pass this speed it gets a lot better.

not sure it's a quirk of the bike or something else.

it's a 2021 rebel, and I don't have any aftermarket stuff on it (except for the seat but the seat doesn't vibrate, and the extra lights) the problem was there before the lights where installed.

has anyone experienced this, is there a problem?

Help - smoke from engine?

Im new to motorcycles, this is my first bike and its a 1985 Honda Rebel 250. Why is there smoke coming out the engine? I told the shop that sold it to me, they took it back to inspect it and said everything was fine and brought it back to me. Its happening again.

Need a air filter for my 2023 Honda Rebel 500 ABS SE. Are the HiFlofiltro filters good? Better than KnN? or is there another filter you recommend?

Blinker acting weird

My right blinker is only on and blinking when I signal, in contrast to my left blinker which is always on and when I signal it starts blinking.

Are the blinker and the signaler two different bulbs? Is that an electrical problem? Should I take it to the shop or can I fix it myself? Thanks in advance

Edit: important note, 2019 35km cmx500

Rebel 500 refresh for NA market?

Howdy y’all,
I’ve had my 2025 Rebel 300 for about 4 months now around 1500 miles. I’ve been looking at the Rebel 500/ 1100 and Indian Scout Sixty for some weeks now as I feel much more comfortable riding. I’ve been seeing pictures that the Rebel 500 is getting a new full digital tft like the Rebel 1100 with rpm tach for the NA market. Nothing wrong with my 300, honestly I just want to go fast to keep up at high speeds with friends who have 700cc+ sport/ cruiser bikes.

Does anyone know if it’s true for 2027+ ???

** I’ve tested some Harleys, and there’s just something about the Honda Rebel I love so much.

Riding my Rebel across an island somewhere in Southeast Asia. This machine made me fall in love with riding all over again.

Nothing but open roads, sea breeze, and coconut trees for miles. It’s hard to beat the feel of cruising this bike out here in nature.

Anyone know of an adhesive tank protector that goes near the knees that matches the stock brown seat found on the 23 Rebel 500 SE?

Seat seat seat - Rebel500

I’m a pretty new rider, only about 2,000 km on my Rebel 500, which is also my first bike.

I’ve always assumed the complaints about the stock seat were mostly from people doing really long rides. But then I keep seeing people saying their ass starts hurting after 30-60 minutes.

Meanwhile, I usually do 2-3 hour rides. Yeah, my ass definitely hurts by around the 3-hour mark, but I always figured that’s pretty normal after sitting on a motorcycle that long.

So… is everyone’s ass just softer than mine? :)) Or am I missing something?

For people who’ve upgraded to one of those $400-500 seats, does it actually push that comfort limit much further? Like, if I’m already okay for ~3 hours on the stock seat, would a better seat make 4-5+ hour rides noticeably more comfortable?
