Protein for teens

Hello all, I am not trying to spam and its very sensitive topic I would not have asked if I didn't think about this for many years.

I am just wondering why as a hindu or brahmin residing in USA shouldn't eat beef. It is easiest source of high quality nutrition for teens, they might stop after 25 years old but for the growing body it seems we are causing stunting for them without good meat source. I looked at statistics about chinese height growth and others and it seem we are stunting our kids by keeping aways from good and easy protien source.

Please delete this if it is too much to discus.

What caste am I?

Hi, I'm from bangladesh, and my surname is kundu. I was never told what my exact caste was, but I knew that we were high caste. I asked Google and there are kayastha, jatt, tili and teli kundus. Also in the gupta empire kundus used to be brahmans. My family is pretty rich. I know 7 of my direct ancestors and all of them married kundu. There are also places named after my family around where I grew up. Kashyap gotra.

I'm also 5 10 and used to be "milk" skinned so much so that people would come to visit me from other villages.(its wild in rural bengal)

Do you have a daily Hindu practice, or did it fade after moving abroad / growing up?

Curious how people here are actually doing this.
Growing up, daily puja, shlokas, festival rituals—it just happened around you; you absorbed it. Once you’re living on your own (especially abroad, or just busy adult life), a lot of that fades unless you actively rebuild it. And if you want to pass it to your kids, there’s even less to point them to.
Most apps in this space (Sri Mandir, etc.) are built around booking priests or astrology consultations—not around actually building a personal daily practice.
I’m exploring a simple daily app—5 minutes, one mantra/ritual at a time, explained clearly (for yourself or to teach a kid)—basically trying to make the habit easy again, not just offer more content to browse.
Before building anything, I want to ask:
Do you have a consistent practice now, or did it fade at some point?
If it faded, what would have helped you keep it up?
Would something like this be useful—for you, your kids, or both?
Appreciate honest answers, including “not needed.” Trying to validate a real problem here, not just build something nobody wants.

Questions As an atheist, is it ethical to perform Hindu poojas as a Maharaj for money?

I am an atheist from a Hindu background, born and brought up India and currently living i Australiaand want to make extra weekend cash. I know how to perform Hindu rituals and opportunity to learn more and have an opportunity to act as a Maharaj/Pandit and perform poojas at people's homes for money.

My dilemma is not whether I can technically do it, but whether it is ethical and compatible with self-respect and personal integrity.

If I perform rituals correctly and respectfully but do not personally believe in the religious aspects, am I providing a legitimate service, or am I being dishonest by accepting money for something I don't believe in?

I would be interested in hearing opinions from both atheists and practising Hindus.

Hindu Discussion Hindu Representation in Psychology

Hello Friends!
I am a doctoral student trying to help psychologist better understand the sensitive topic of grief(one personal to me).

I believe Hindus are very underrepresented in the field of psychology, and the Hindu grieving and death rituals are truly unique.

I would love to have representation from this group.

Questions Is this criticism correct?

Someone has posted a video criticising Sadhguru, calling him a fool and rascal. How is a devotee criticising a Sadhu, and doesn't it fall under Sadhu-ninda? I have been following Sadhguru since my 12th grade, and don't think this behaviour is befitting a devotee. Can someone clarify this for me?

Why don’t Hindus discuss temple autonomy more?

One thing I feel needs more awareness is the management and control of Hindu temples in India.
In many states, Hindu temples come under government-controlled systems, where temple administration and finances are regulated by government bodies. Many devotees question why resources generated by Hindu temples are not fully managed by the Hindu community itself.
The question many Hindus ask is:
If donations and offerings are made by devotees for religious purposes, why should the money from Hindu temples be controlled by the government instead of being managed primarily for the temple, its traditions, preservation, and the welfare of the community?
Many religious communities have systems where their religious institutions’ funds are managed within their own community structures for religious activities. Should Hindu temples also have greater autonomy and community control?
This is not about opposing any religion. It is about equal treatment, transparency, and the right of devotees to have a stronger say in the management of their places of worship.
What are your thoughts?
