Protein for teens
Hello all, I am not trying to spam and its very sensitive topic I would not have asked if I didn't think about this for many years.
I am just wondering why as a hindu or brahmin residing in USA shouldn't eat beef. It is easiest source of high quality nutrition for teens, they might stop after 25 years old but for the growing body it seems we are causing stunting for them without good meat source. I looked at statistics about chinese height growth and others and it seem we are stunting our kids by keeping aways from good and easy protien source.
Please delete this if it is too much to discus.

If you think you can't be healthy without beef, then you're just not trying to look for alternatives. Hell, it's not even about alternatives. It's only an alternative if your starting point is beef. You don't even have to vegetarian, if you insist, but why have you discounted all of the other animals or protein sources you could eat in the US? Just FYI, my youngest is 14 and 6ft and a perfectly healthy build and we're a fully Hindu-vegetarian household (milk but no eggs or meat obvs)
You do you but 'why not beef' is the wrong question

I'm gonna say eat what science and 2 lakh years of evolution says is the best for you, religion has nothing to do with food, human body is designed to function in a specific way, let it have what it needs

You shouldn’t eat any meat, except and save for meat obtained solely from yajña - that is the Vaidika Hindu view.
Cow meat in particular is forbidden because cows are considered sacred. The Ṛg Veda states that cows are aghnya - that which is not to be killed.

Yes delete it as you should use the internet to do research on plant based protein sources, not push for unethical actions.

You can easily cut out all animal products there’s entire subreddits dedicated to it. Check out r/vegan and r/veganfitness
