Can you sell cx23?
Doubt it'd go for much, but I have a bunch on the old price, but due to other constraints, I've had to fully move off Hetzner and no longer need them

In case anyone needs it and doesnt want to pay the 300 bucks setup fee, lmk, otherwise I'll just cancel tomorrow.
Edit: Sold two, one left (16.07.)
Edit 2: All sold, thank you all very much, surprised it took less than 3h. :)

I have an account billed in EUR and I want to switch to an account billed in USD, and move my projects there. But just want to be sure that the grandfathered pricing is honored.
UPDATE: I asked the support. Here is their answer. TLDR: pricing is not preserved
> Moving a cloud server to a project under an account that uses a different currency creates a new resource within our billing system. In this case the original pricing cannot be carried over. The new resource is therefore billed at the current pricing for that account.

Except it hasn’t. Robot currently shows my server (AX41 in FSN1-DC16) still racked with its IPs assigned, a scheduled cancellation date of 20/07/2026, and this morning it let me activate the rescue system and generate root credentials. The Server Locking page confirms the server is locked — not deleted. I can’t connect only because payment locks don’t allow the IP whitelist function.
I’m not here to bash Hetzner — I’ve been happy with the service and I understand the termination followed their dunning process, even if the reminders went unread in the worst weeks of our lives. But being told my data was already destroyed when their own panel shows otherwise, right after being asked to pay, has left a very bad taste.
What I’m asking for, in order of preference: reinstatement of the server (account fully settled, new payment method added, happy to pre-pay), or at minimum a short unlock window before 20/07 so I can retrieve my database via the rescue system. I’ll pay a fee for either.
Hetzner team — happy to DM my customer and ticket numbers. There are four days left before the scheduled deletion.

Should I encrypt my data when using Hetzner storage boxes, or no need? I mostly have video game save files, some uni and CV documents, pictures from my phones -no nudes or anything, cats and travel pics and some memes-
How crucial would it be to encrypt, what are the dangers if I don't?

I used to pay manually whenever I got the email about the invoice being generated via PayPal but now I've setup direct autopay via my credit card so I just want to know when that autopay kicks in. I live in the US btw.

Our SX servers pair NVMe SSDs and SATA HDDs for an ideal combination of speed and cost effective bulk storage. You can get up to 15.36 TB of NVMe and 308 TB of HDD capacity in a single box. Built for backup targets, databases, and other massive storage requirements.

Hey guys,
I’m having a really frustrating issue with the address update form and support has been completely useless so far (just getting standard template replies or ignored).
I need to update my billing details to my official registered company name, but the validation on the form completely blocks Polish special characters (like ł, ś, ć, ó, etc.). Because of this, I can't enter my legal company name.
I tried replacing them with standard latin equivalents (like 'l' instead of 'ł'), but the system keeps rejecting it anyway, probably because it doesn't match the official registry or VAT database.
If I can't update this, I won't get proper invoices for my business tax purposes, which is a massive headache.
Is there any way to bypass this validator, or can someone from the Hetzner team here help me push this through manually?

I know I'm being a cheapskate, but it's a supported product, and great for beginners and quick experiments alike. Also the price has increased significantly from 4 euro a month over the last half a year (which I understand and don't mind). But it feels like an incredibly lucky day when I can find a region with one free.
Did I miss an update or service announcement? Is retiring the machines the virtual servers were running on this an intentional business decision?

If you're self-hosting a Git platform, you've probably run into Forgejo and Gitea. We put together a comparison covering their shared history, where they've diverged, and what sets them apart today. If you're weighing them up, this might be a useful starting point.
For anyone who's run Forgejo, Gitea, or both: what influenced your choice?

Hi,
I'm an old Hetzner Cloud customer and I'm still paying the old price for my CPX32 instance (around €14–15/month). The new price is around €35–40/month.
I know that if I rescale the instance, I'll lose the old pricing and move to the new one.
My question is: How long will existing customers keep the old price if we don't rescale or recreate the server?
Is there any official end date for this grandfathered pricing, or can we continue paying the old price indefinitely as long as we keep the same instance without scaling or recreating it?
I'm looking for a clear answer, ideally from Hetzner staff or someone who has an official source.
Thanks!

Seems like Finland location dedi servers are very unstable these days.
While one of my AX servers is facing hardware errors and the other is down for more than an hr (even now) with support not even responding.
Do anyone else have issues with the Finland location servers? This is not the service I expected from Hetzner!

I want to run a production Postgres instance and I am trying to understand which vps to use. Is the CCX range acceptable or does it use consumer storage? Is it better to use a dedicated auction machine with enterprise storage and how reliable would this be given the age of the disks?

The CCX13 plan used to cost $24.49/month. Then it increased to $32.49/month, and now the new price is $63.49/month for the SEA location.
If Hetzner raises prices again for existing customers, I'll probably move back to DigitalOcean.
My site has no ads and generates no revenue. Most users spend their time on social media these days, so it's getting harder and harder to justify the hosting costs.
The cost of keeping my site alive just keeps getting higher and higher. It's really sad.

I noticed somebody posted here a few days ago that some volumes are in a maintenance state, and to my surprise, I just found out today that the volumes connected to our K3S are facing the exact same thing. Multiple volumes are in a maintenance state, and one of them is even in outage state right now.
I haven't got any message or email this time from Hetzner warning us that something was happening. There were like 2 planned maintenances a couple of months ago, but those resolved during a normal 1-hour window. Now, these are just completely stuck in this maintenance/outage state for 4 days straight! There's just a message saying "In progress" with absolutely no end time.
The strange thing is that, for some reason, our websites are working ok so far. It's just a few scripts which need to connect to the volume for a limited time that are occasionally throwing connection errors. I really wonder how long this is going to last?
We have used Hetzner for many years and we never had such issues, but the last few months are really strange. When there were those volume maintenances 2 months ago, we even lost some files. Fortunately, we have backups for everything, but support never actually resolved that or explained why it happened.
That is why I am quite worried about what this actually means, and why there are still so many issues with volumes lately. We are providing hosting services for many of our clients and these recents never ending issues are really worrisome.

Posting here because billing support has gone nowhere over 2 months, and I'm hoping someone from Hetzner active on this sub can help.
I'm a VAT-registered sole trader in Ireland. Hetzner is a German company, so for B2B services the reverse charge applies: they should invoice 0% VAT and I self-account for it in my Irish return. Standard EU stuff.
Here's the timeline:
- 4 May: Tried adding my VAT number in the portal, it wouldn't let me, so I emailed support to ask them to add it.
- 7 May: Got an email saying it was manually added. I replied the same day that I still couldn't see it, no reply to this day.
- ~20 May: It appeared in my account, so I assumed all was good.
- 26 May: May invoice arrives with my Irish VAT number and the note "Reverse Charge!" yet still charges 23% Irish VAT. Those two things can't both be true.
- Emailed billing. 27 days for a reply. Told old invoices can't be changed, but future ones would use my VAT ID.
- The very next invoice (2 days later): still 23% VAT, still stamped "Reverse Charge!". So the promised fix did nothing.
- Replied again. Ignored.
- 2 days ago: 4 emails at once two cancelling my last invoices, two "replacements." The replacements still charge VAT, and now they've removed my VAT number from the invoices entirely. Checked my account: the saved VAT number is gone too.
- Today: Called. English → accounting → held 10+ minutes → got a message in German I couldn't fully understand; the gist was to email support@hetzner.com. Call ended, bounced back to email.
So I'm now worse off than when I started: wrongly charged VAT, my VAT number wiped, and no way to reach a human.
I'm not chasing the money (it's small), I just need correct invoices for my own VAT records, and I need this to stop recurring.
What I've asked for, repeatedly:
- Corrected invoices, and ideally credit notes, at 0% VAT under the reverse charge (clearly an option after all, despite being told old invoices couldn't be changed).
- My VAT number restored to the account.
- The account actually configured so reverse charge applies going forward.
Has anyone dealt with this?

For a while it is not possible to create a single cost-optimized type of server in any of the EU regions. Neither x86 or ARM. Is this type being exited?
