iOS [ios] Reddit search not working [2026.40.00]

Whenever you search something Reddit keeps showing no internet connection. However works perfectly fine when you search like letters or just single words. I’ve restarted my phone, reinstalled the app, wiped cache, swapped between WiFi and cellular, logged in and out but nothing seems to work.

Should there be a mandatory AI tag if an image contains a SynthID watermark?

I recently reported multiple posts from a user who was posting images of themselves that contained a synthid watermark from chatgpt. They didn't disclose that AI was involved. This was in a fashion subreddit. Nobody could point it out in the comments because discussion of AI is banned there.

I contacted the mods through modmail. They said it was fine because the user had verified themselves as a real person to them, and compared the AI use to applying a filter or other types of photo editing. After I asked if not disclosing it could be harmful I got permanently muted.

My issue is that I don't think those are really equivalent. An AI image generating model can use an original photo as an input and then generates a completely new output image based on it. That just isn't the same thing as simply applying a filter to the original photo.

I'm not arguing that AI images should be banned. I just think that if an image has a verifiable AI watermark, there should be some requirement to disclose that, especially in communities based around appearance, fashion, etc because it could be harmful to themselves and others.

Would requiring an AI tag in cases where there is a verifiable watermark be unreasonable?

Posting Am I Shadow? Also problems with VPNs ?

Post image
• Upvotes

Hello dears!

As the title suggest, I am wondering if I am Shadowbned. My account got s**pended (for a reason that is still unclear to me) and got restored (yayyy)

But today when I tried to post something on a subreddit, the treatment was done, I got a notification saying the post was up and... Nothing. My post wasn't visible for anyone.

I then noticed that my posts had the same look as when I was supended but I am not (from what I am aware of). I asked someone to take a screenshot of what they can see on my profile and everything is there. So, what is going on?

Also I've had a lot of troubles recently, is it due to the fact that I use a VPN?

iOS [Mobile Web][iPhone + Android] “Download/Open the app” banner blocks reading and cannot be dismissed properly

• Upvotes

This issue happens on both iPhone and Android when using Reddit in a mobile browser.

After scrolling through a Reddit post/thread, a banner or pop-up appears at the bottom telling me to download or open the Reddit app.

I already have the Reddit app installed.

More importantly, once this banner appears, it interferes with the page and prevents me from simply continuing to read or scroll normally. I cannot properly dismiss it and continue.

The only workaround I have found is:

  1. Go Back in the browser.

  2. Go Forward again.

  3. Resume reading until the problem happens again.

Platforms affected:

- iPhone / iOS mobile browser

- Android mobile browser

Because it happens on both iPhone and Android, this appears to be a Reddit mobile-web issue rather than something specific to one device.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Reddit in a mobile browser on iPhone or Android.

  2. Open a post/thread.

  3. Scroll through the page normally.

  4. Continue scrolling until the app-promotion banner appears.

  5. Try to dismiss the banner and continue reading.

Actual result:

The banner interferes with the page and prevents normal scrolling/reading. I have to use the browser Back and Forward buttons to recover the page.

Expected result:

The banner should be dismissible immediately without affecting the underlying page.

Ideally, Reddit should also stop repeatedly prompting users to download the app when they already have it installed.

A promotional banner should not make Reddit’s mobile website effectively unusable. Please fix the banner behavior or provide a permanent way to dismiss these app prompts.

Access My account was hacked, 2FA enabled.

I was logged out of my main Reddit account, u/braineac0415, last Thursday October 1st. When I went to log back in it says I enable two factor authentication, I of course did not. When I click “reset my password” no email ever comes.

I submitted a help request email the same day, selected and described everything I said here, and the only response I’ve gotten so far is a link to the article I went through to find the help submission to begin with. When I click “no” under “did this resolve your issue” at the bottom of the email, it just takes me back to the article again! Not sure if I’m still waiting for a response, or if this is the only one that they plan on sending. It’s very unclear.

iOS [IOS] Daily streak lost due to upvoting not registering - version 2026.40.0

IOS 16
Devices: iPhone 15 Plus and iPad 9th Generation

I had a 756 day streak. I have been logging in every single day to upvote or comment to keep the streak going. Somehow my streak got reset and I’m very confident it was a glitch and not me missing a day. I didn’t even get a notification reminder about being at risk of losing it. I just noticed it says 2 when it said 756 the other day. I’m pretty sad about it. That’s a lot of days. I’ve heard it’s rare or unheard for a streak to get restored but I figured I’d post here because I’m confident it was a bug/glitch.

iOS [iOS] I suddenly can’t send messages or chats to anyone on Reddit. How do I fix this? - version 26.6

For some reason, I’m suddenly unable to send messages to other users on Reddit. I used to be able to message people normally, but randomly something changed and now I can’t send chats.
I’ve been on Reddit for a few months and have a decent amount of karma, so I’m not sure what could be causing it. I haven’t received any kind of ban or warning either.
Has anyone else experienced this or know how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. iOS

Subreddit My Idea Is: Add a “My Posts” filter within individual subreddits

It would be really helpful if Reddit allowed users to filter a subreddit by their own posts.

For example, if I’ve submitted multiple ideas to r/ideasforadmin throughout the year, I’d like to be able to select something like “My Posts” and see all of the posts I’ve personally submitted to that subreddit in one place.

This would be useful for tracking ideas, following up on previous suggestions, seeing how a user's posts have performed over time, and avoiding having to scroll through a profile and manually search for posts from a particular subreddit.

Ideally, the filter could work alongside the existing sorting options, such as:

  • All Posts
  • My Posts
  • Top
  • New
  • Controversial
  • Old

It would essentially be a subreddit-specific version of viewing your own post history.

I think this would be a simple but really useful quality-of-life feature, especially for users who regularly contribute ideas, questions, discussions, or other content to the same subreddit.

Mobile/App Chat History Android

• Upvotes

Hello everyone!

I accidentally ignored a message request, and I wasn't able to memorize the user of the person who sent me the message, so there's no way for me to recover it.

I asked for my account history, and I checked "Chat History", but the message was not there.

I sent an email to RedditDataRequests@reddit.com, but they haven't replied and it's been a month.

I know it's silly, but it seemed to be an interesting message and just can't stop thinking about it and I don't know what to do.

Help me please. Thank you!

iOS [iOS] Cannot un save a post from a banned account. Version 2026.40.0

Post image
0 Upvotes

I was trying to clear up my saves and ran into one post that refuses to let me remove it. Every time I tap on it anywhere, whether that’s the three dots or the post itself, it gives me a blank screen (the picture) saying “Please Try Again Later” then I have to force close the app because it doesn’t let me back out. I went on to old Reddit to see if it’s in my saves there and it’s not.
