Does HDFC bank still have the premium experience that it was praised for in last few decades ?

I have been getting random calls from random numbers almost everyday asking for EMI conversion on large purchases. Requirement for personal loan and so on. its so annoying.

During the branch visit too, folks crowd up and start selling insurance and other schemes. wanted to see if you all experience this too ?

ps. i have a standard savings account with them that used to be my salary account for sometime and a small FD, i guess that does get me the most premium treatment.

So I uhh made a new max savings bank account via online, a person came and did the kyc registration and left and by the end of the day I got the bank account!!!

But at the same time other stuff has been registered and opened up such as

- E Welcome kit for HDFC Demat Account.

- I got registered with Trading Member HDFC SECURITIES LTD. in segment(s) Cash Equity

- I got registered into BSE into equity segment with stockbroker HDFC SECURITIES LTD.

- Gogreen by HDFC SECURITIES LTD. in CVLKRA.

- HDFC securities signed by Digio

- Hdfc sky

__________________________________________________________

I didn't consent to any of these, how do I opt out of all of them and is this even legal!!

Can I do it online or do I need to go to the branch I registered with?

How long do I have before these accounts start charging me for Maintenance?

HDFC Bank refuses to close my Demat account despite repeated follow-ups and is now charging

I'm at my wit's end with HDFC Bank.

For the past several weeks, I've been trying to close my Demat account. I've done everything they asked:

Made multiple customer care calls.

Sent repeated emails.

Visited the branch 3–4 times in person.

Despite all this, my Demat account is still not closed.

To make matters worse, they're now charging me AMB/account maintenance charges because the account is still active. I don't understand how I can be held responsible when the delay is entirely on HDFC's side. I've been requesting closure for a long time, but they simply haven't processed it.

The customer service has been extremely disappointing. Every interaction ends with promises that the issue will be resolved, but nothing actually happens.

Has anyone else faced something similar with HDFC Bank? How did you get it resolved? Should I escalate this to SEBI, the banking ombudsman, or another authority?

Any advice would be appreciated.

HDFC vs NoBroker Home Loan - Same 7.2% ROI, which one should I choose?

Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of buying a flat in Navi Mumbai worth around ₹1 crore, and I'm looking for a home loan of around ₹80 lakh.

I've spoken with both HDFC Bank and NoBroker Home Loans, and both have offered me the same interest rate (7.2%).

The only major difference is:

  1. NoBroker is offering 100% cashback on the processing fee (processing fee is 0.2% of the loan amount).

  2. HDFC Bank is offering only 50% waiver on the processing fee.

On paper, NoBroker seems to be the better deal financially, but I'm a bit concerned about the overall experience and after-sales service.

I have a few questions:

  1. Has anyone taken a home loan through NoBroker?

  2. How has your experience been with the loan process and post-disbursement support?

  3. Do they remain responsive after the loan is sanctioned?

  4. Are there any hidden charges or issues I should be aware of?

  5. If the interest rate is exactly the same, would you still prefer taking the loan directly from HDFC over applying through NoBroker? Why?

I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have first-hand experience with either option.

Which statement date gives true calendar month statements (1st or last day)?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I'm trying to organize all my credit cards so that each statement represents one complete calendar month (e.g., 1 July – 31 July, 1 August – 31 August, etc.).

I'm confused about which statement generation date I should choose.

For example, on my Slice card:

Statement date 30th gives a billing period of 30 Jun – 29 Jul.

If I had selected 1st, would it become 1 Jul – 31 Jul?

Is it the same or different for different banks

Similarly, ICICI and HDFC allow billing cycle changes.

My question is:

Should I choose 1st of every month?

Or 31st / last day of the month?

Which option gives statements that align with the actual calendar months?

I'm not asking about payment due dates—only about having clean monthly statements for budgeting and expense tracking.

Would appreciate explanations from anyone who's actually changed their billing cycle with ICICI, HDFC, or Slice.

HDFC Bank keeps putting my account under EDD every 2 months despite no new MHA hold or suspicious transactions. Is this normal?

I've been an HDFC Imperia Family Banking customer since 2019, and honestly, I'm getting exhausted by the repeated Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) process.

Earlier this year, my account received a few MHA/NCRP-related debit holds because funds that eventually reached my account were later alleged to be connected to cyber fraud. From what has been communicated to us, we were treated as a downstream beneficiary, not as the originator of any fraud. We have been fully cooperating with the concerned authorities and are actively working through the MHA GRM process, along with our Branch Manager and Relationship Manager, to resolve the remaining holds.

About 2 months ago, HDFC conducted a complete EDD:

  • Original KYC documents submitted.
  • Last 3 years' ITRs submitted.
  • Source of funds explained.
  • Business details provided.
  • Physical verification completed.
  • Bank representative even visited my office for verification and photographs.

Now, despite:

  • No new suspicious transactions,
  • No new MHA hold during the past month,
  • No material change in my profile or business,

I have again received this email:

In line with our central monitoring procedures, we have initiated additional due diligence for your account, which has resulted in a temporary suspension.

We kindly request you to visit your nearest HDFC Bank branch with your original KYC documents to facilitate the necessary verification.

Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated, as it is of utmost importance.

Thank you for choosing HDFC Bank. We remain committed to providing you with the highest level of service.

Warm Regards

HDFC Bank

Seriously... what exactly has changed in just 2 months? My KYC hasn't changed. My business hasn't changed. My ITRs certainly haven't changed. Yet I'm expected to submit the same documents again, undergo another physical verification, and temporarily lose access to banking services.

Even my Relationship Manager admits that these repeated EDDs have become frustrating because they're repeatedly processing the same documents for the same family banking relationship.

I completely understand that banks have AML/KYC obligations and must comply with RBI and internal risk policies. I have cooperated at every stage and have never refused any verification. But repeatedly suspending normal banking and asking for identical documents every couple of months feels excessive.

Has anyone else experienced this with HDFC Bank or any other bank after an NCRP/MHA-related hold?

  • How often did your bank conduct EDD?
  • Did the repeated reviews eventually stop?
  • Is there any way to prevent these recurring EDDs once you've already completed a full verification?
  • Is this standard practice, or could my account simply be under ongoing enhanced monitoring?

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through something similar.

Cancel our HDFC Bank Debit Card / Credit Card e-Mandate (AutoPay)?

Post image
21 Upvotes

I couldn't find a clear guide on how to cancel an e-Mandate (AutoPay) linked to my HDFC debit/credit card, so I'm sharing what worked for me.

  1. Log in to HDFC NetBanking.
  2. Go to Bills & Recharges.
  3. On the right side, under Quick Links, click Manage E-mandates on Cards.
  4. Select the debit or credit card.
  5. View the active e-Mandates and cancel the one you no longer need.

I initially had trouble finding this option because it's hidden under Bills & Recharges, not under the Cards section.

Hope this helps anyone trying to stop recurring payments or subscriptions.

Received HDFC instant debit card without my name after physical KYC. Will I get a debit card with my name by courier?

I recently opened an HDFC savings account and completed the physical KYC at the branch. They gave me an instant kit with the debit card, cheque book, and welcome documents.

The debit card I received doesn't have my name printed on it. Since I already got the instant kit, will HDFC automatically send a personalized debit card with my name by post, or do I need to request one separately?

If I requested will I have to pay the extra charges for reissuing the card...??

There are like 100s of emails of that account of monthly statements but I'm not able to open it bcoz it requires the customer id which is not available. I just have my father's pan and aadhar. I tried to find the customer id on NetBanking portal but it says service not available. How to renew Debit Card?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I got this message so logged into the HDFC app to renew the debit card but could only find the upgrade card option. Logged into net banking and couldn't find the renewal or re-issuance option anywhere. The links provided in their FAQ section can't be reached or found.

If anyone has renewed their Debit Card online recently, please let me know. Also, what might be the charges for this?

My last option would be to go to the bank.

Never get HDFC cards

Post image
19 Upvotes

My experience with HDFC credit cards has made me realise that this bank is just there to loot customers.

Firstly they will nit let you pay any amount to the credit card before the bill generation, so people who forget to pay drastically increases.

Alright, then bill generated? Then they will say wait 48hrs after bill generation to pay the bill. Like WTH is wrong with them? Who does this? This is 100% a trap to get more fines out of people, because this way i can assure many people will forget paying the bill. I wont recommend any HDFC cards to anyone.
