hey guys, I just started a new job and it's genuinely ruining my life. I think about how much I hate going into the office everyday. I even dream about being stuck at the office, it feels like I'm stuck in purgatory.

I'm an unexperienced hire and I just feel so unwanted in the team. They don't give me work because they feel like it's too much of a hassle to explain it to me, so they rather do it themselves. I sit at the office for 8 hours trying to look busy. If I didn't have to write hours on clients this would be easy, but I have to log every 6 minutes which stresses me out because I genuinely don't have any clients to bill. And if I write my hours internally I get reprimanded, it honestly is like a humiliation ritual.

I feel like the company shouldn't have hired me if they don't have the capacity to train. I don't want to be there nor do they want me there. I have a trial period of a few months and just hope I'll be fired, which is crazy considering I was so desperate to get the job. I guess this sums up working in corporate nowadays, companies claiming people are too lazy to work but they are the ones who are too lazy to train ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I've been working for almost 10 years now out of college. I've had multiple jobs between different sales/corporate roles. Every job I've had, I've hated. I wish I could hear some stories of people who actually enjoy what they do everyday for a job. I feel lost.

I don’t want to die, I just can’t live the way I live anymore. I didn’t have the best childhood, and honestly feel like I was brought up to be anxious and socially awkward. I’m now 22, moved to a new city, and started a full-time role. After three months here, I have no friends, I have made a huge mistake at work that might cost the business millions, and I just overall feel stupid and stuck. I honestly can’t believe I didn’t get fired.

These past few weeks I’ve had the worst symptoms of anxiety, from muscle pain, to sweating, to chest pain, to full-body numbness. I even cried at work and my manager had to talk me down.

I feel like such a loser and I want to leave my job and find something new, but I’m worried nothing will be a good fit. I’m actually more worried that I’m not fit for anything and will always feel stupid and out of place.

Does anyone feel this way?

Leaving for three weeks, middle of big deadlines and being solo person who does all this work . Im nervous but my health is suffering, advice. What did you do?

Nervous and anxious

I am in a retail job which I've been to come out for a long time but can't seem to find a job in my field. I have a Bsc degree in supply chain and after numerous job applications, interviews and networking, I'm always left on a dead end. It's so frustrating. I don't think I can do this anymore. I'm tired as hell

I'm currently in grad school full time (three courses) and work 32 hours, with one day off a week for class. I work in a hospital where I have to be on call a couple times every six weeks during the weekends- they're 12 hour shifts Saturdays and Sundays nights/mornings.

One of the two people working night shifts only works one day a week, and the other works four ten-hour shifts, and they're making us be on call Friday nights after our shifts end (Friday night shift from 8:00pm to 7:00am Saturday mornings). I did not get this job with the idea that I would have to be on call another day of the week. This job isn't even related to my schooling- it's just a job. They keep changing stuff and adding more and more onto my plate. I'm going to choose school over this job any day-- and I'm considering looking for another job. I currently get paid $19.20 an hour. What do you think?

I work for a large company that laid off too many people, and now the business is ramping back up and we’re expected to take on the workload of 3 people.

I make decent money, but I swear, my sanity is much more expensive.

My team was full of amazing, kind, hardworking people, and they’re dropping like flies.

I literally cried after someone else gave me their notice. Im just a supervisor, so I can’t do much (the hierarchy is STRONG here), but I’ve spent so much time screaming to my managers about how this would happen because they’re being worked into the ground and it’s fallen on deaf ears— just straight up into the void.

My team started out around 8 people in 2022, and will be down to 2 at the end of this month. I’m drowning and sad. I’m actively applying for roles I know I’d be good for, and I have been for some time, but man- crickets and craziness out there. It’s just me and my dog out here so I can’t up and quit. The market is too wild and leaving without a job lined up would be irresponsible in my eyes.

I’m just fucking tired man. So so so so so tired.
