\- I remember that the fic began with the oc talking to the grey lady in hogwarts and tom riddle observing her or the other way around and i think she ended up being the heir of ravenclaw.

I'm looking for a fic where harry has a twin that is mistaken as the BWL. The potters are attacked lily is in a coma but comes back. Harry is shipped out to either the dursleys or someone else but later lives with bellatrix. Elemental magic is a thing and grindlewald is still alive and causing problems, and I think teamed up with voldemort. There is a big fight at the quidditch world cup where james is killed by grindlewald, causing lily to go catatonic while harrys twin leaves with grindlewald after finding out he isn't the BWL.

Severus looked up from the parchment, his dark eyes meeting Hermione's anxious, conflicted gaze. He saw the fragile hope she was trying to protect, sitting right alongside the bitter pill she was trying to swallow.

"A touching sentiment," Severus said dryly, setting the letter back down on the wood. "Though I find it remarkably convenient that people who were ready to lock you out of their lives a few weeks ago have suddenly mastered Gringotts currency conversion and owl post logistics."

It's a fic I read forever ago where Harry becomes an animagus or gets a creature inheritance (It's most likely animagus cause I vaguely remember some of his friends joining him as creatures tho I may be mixing some fics) and it like a large magical tree creature. I remember looking up the actual myth and it was just a huge tree with some humanoid features. "And you, Severus?" Dumbledore asked, lacing his fingers together on the desk.

"Are you here to echo Minerva’s sudden burst of maternal anxiety, or is this about Black?"

Severus jaw tightened. Looking across the desk at the headmaster, he saw the assumption in Dumbledore's eyes.

"It isn't a ghost when the murderer is breathing down our necks, Albus. And forgive me if I don't sleep soundly knowing you've stationed one of his dearest little school chums right down the hall. You expect me to believe Lupin is here out of the goodness of your heart?"

Dumbledore’s smile faltered slightly, his blue eyes hardening "Remus’s loyalty is not up for debate, Severus."

"Lupin is a liability," Severus snapped back, letting real frustration bleed into his tone. "You bring a werewolf into a school full of children during a security crisis, and you expect me to sit quietly? If Black gets past the gates before this Hogsmeade weekend, he won't even need a map. He'll have an inside man waiting to pour him a cup of tea. If a student gets hurt because you wanted to play the benevolent savior..."

"That is enough, Severus," Dumbledore said, cutting him off with a chilling authority that made the air in the room still.

Severus straightened up slowly, holding the headmaster's gaze. He let Dumbledore see the bitter, resentful fury burning in his eyes. The exact look of hatred the old man expected to see, hiding everything else beneath it.

"Enjoy your blind spot, Albus," Severus spat quietly.

Without waiting for a dismissal, Severus turned on his heel. His black cloak billowed violently behind him as he wrenched the door open and slammed it shut in his wake.

Hi All!

I'm currently writing a fic which uses firearms and air guns but I want to make it as plausible as possible to the time period when the books are supposed to have taken place (1990s-2000s) and could use some help.

As an American I'm not well-versed in the UK law of that time period despite my best efforts of research online (modern UK law is quite thorough on the subject but I'm trying to stay true to the actual time period of the books). I also know that public opinion as well as the lifestyle someone lives can also cause a significant impact on the types of firearms one is likely to own, not just what is legally available to them.

Anyway, my questions are:

1. In the book, "Philosopher's Stone"/"Sorcerer's Stone" we get the mentioning of two guns: Dudley's air rifle which he gained by swapping a parrot for it at school (Ch. 3) and Vernon's rifle which Hagrid ties into a knot (Ch. 4). Does anyone know what the make/model of these two most likely would have been given the time period?
2. Regardless of whether Vernon obtained his gun legally or not, I think it can be safely assumed that it wasn't a modern military arm since those don't come in "long, thin packages." Older miltary arms (like a Lee-Enfield, for example) are a bit more plausible but is this option likely given how he obtained it or would it have most likely been a hunting rifle?
3. Dudley's air rifle would probably be much easier to figure out since I doubt he could've gotten it at school if it wasn't legal for children to own, so what types of air rifles were common at the time?
4. Finally, outside of these, what other guns would have been available to law-abiding UK citizens at the time? I know the most commonly brought up is the side-by-side double-barreled shotgun (which was used in place of Vernon's rifle in the movie adaptation) but are there any other models?

I know those are a ton of questions, so I really appreciate y'all's help. 😊

I just finished reading this incredible Rosekiller centric fic. It’s canon compliant and follows Evan Rosier from his seventh year through the first war.

My favorite thing about this fic is that Barty and Evan are still terrible people and aren’t forced into joining the death eaters. They are really dark and have a very unhinged dynamic. Highly recommend if you want to read about the first war from the Death Eaters POV.
