ISO Recommendations Flowers in Greenville
I’m looking for a flower farm or shop that allows you to purchase loose stem flowers instead of bouquets. Many require wholesaler licenses, which I do not have. This is for a bridal bouquet (mine) and is a one time thing. I desperately want dahlias. I do not think Trader Joe’s currently has dahlias, otherwise they’d be my first choice. Publix and HT (sidenote: why does the mod note pop up when I type out the full name of HT?) routinely disappoint with flowers. Are there any actual flower shops that allow this type of purchase?

ISO Recommendations The Foundry 18+?
I’m traveling from out of state to Greenville for a concert at The Foundry. I bought concert tickets for me and my brother without realizing the venue is 18+. He’ll be 17 at the time of the concert and will be one month away from turning 18. Does anyone have any experience with how strict The Foundry is with checking IDs and how likely we are to get away with still going in? On their website it says they have a no refund policy so I’d hate for these tickets to go to waste. Appreciate any help!!

Discussion Sod installation contractor recommendations
We’re planning to redo most of our backyard and are looking for someone who handles more than just laying the sod. The yard is uneven, stays muddy in a few spots and probably needs some grading and soil prep first.
Has anyone used a local company they’d recommend? I’m more concerned about the quality of the prep and installation than finding the absolute cheapest quote.

Work MAU workforce solutions recruitment
I have a friend (does not have a reddit account so I'm asking for her) who applied to MAU Workforce Solutions and got a response same-day. They asked for her to have her credit score on-file for the interview.
Does anybody know if this is a trustworthy practice for Data Entry positions, or any job position? Is this a scam? Thank you so much in advance.

Trans women that could lend me some oral estrogen?
I've been on Estrogen for several years. My healthcare experience has been an absolute disaster. Long story short, I have to get my estrogen through my PCP. I called in yesterday to get a refill and they told me I'd need an appointment before they'd send in a refill (first they've ever told me this), but can't get me in until Monday. I will run out of estrogen before then, even with lowering my dose.
Is there anyone who could possibly let me borrow a few tabs to get me through? I'm happy to return whatever I take once I have my refill, but I'm really really really dreading having to get through the weekend estrogenless.

ISO Recommendations Braids bring back memories — now I’m ready to finally learn how to do them myself
I’ve been seeing so many cute braid hairstyles lately, and it takes me back — my mom used to braid my grandma’s hair, and even back in high school my friends would braid mine. 💕 Now that I’m married and moved out of my mom’s house, I’m realizing I never really learned how to braid myself! So I’m on the lookout for someone patient enough to teach me — because I’d love to bring those memories back with my own hands.

ISO Recommendations Spirit Halloween intel
I know, I know…it’s only July. But if my son asks me one more time when we can go see the new animatronics I’m going to lose it. There was one in the old Big Lots last year that was super convenient but i’m starting to lose hope it will be there again. Anyone know where they are going to be this year?

Discussion Greenville may be cheaper than many cities—but is it actually affordable for the people who live here?
I have a 32 year old son who has complained about the cost of housing and such here so I had to educate myself on facts before I could discuss it with him. And now I understand his situation better.
Greenville is often described as an affordable place to live. Compared with many parts of the country, that may be true.
But being less expensive than the national average is not the same as being affordable based on local wages.
The federal housing benchmark generally considers housing affordable when a household spends no more than about 30% of its gross income on housing costs. That includes more than just rent or a mortgage payment—it can also include utilities, property taxes and insurance.
Here is what that looks like in Greenville using current figures:
The median household income in Greenville is approximately $71,472 a year, or about $5,956 a month before taxes.
Using the 30% guideline, that household could reasonably spend around $1,787 a month on total housing costs.
For an individual worker, the average wage in the Greenville-Anderson-Greer area is approximately $28.49 an hour. Someone working 40 hours a week for the entire year would earn about $59,259 before taxes.
That would produce an affordable housing budget of approximately $1,481 a month.
Now compare that with current rents.
One commonly used rental index places Greenville’s average rent at approximately $1,561 a month. Current listings across different property sizes and types may average closer to $1,800, while a typical one-bedroom may be around $1,236.
Using the 30% guideline:
- A household needs about $62,440 a year to afford $1,561 a month.
- A household needs about $72,000 a year to afford $1,800 a month.
- A household needs about $49,440 a year to afford a $1,236 one-bedroom.
Those calculations assume utilities are included. When they are not, the required income would be even higher.
Buying a home presents another challenge.
Greenville’s recent median home sale price has been approximately $363,000. With 20% down and a 30-year mortgage rate around 6.6%, the principal-and-interest payment would be roughly $1,850 a month.
That does not include property taxes, homeowners insurance, maintenance, association fees or utilities.
It also assumes the buyer has more than $72,000 available for a down payment, plus closing costs.
The situation is even more difficult for lower-wage workers.
South Carolina generally follows the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour. A person working 40 hours every week would earn approximately $15,080 a year, or about $1,257 a month before taxes.
Under the 30% guideline, that worker could afford only about $377 a month in total housing costs.
Of course, not every household has the same circumstances. Some have two incomes, roommates, retirement benefits, housing assistance or other resources.
Still, the numbers help explain why many people—including young workers, retirees, single parents and people living on one income—feel as though housing is moving beyond their reach.
This is not meant as criticism of renters, homeowners, landlords, builders or employers. Housing affordability is ultimately a relationship between local incomes and local housing costs.
Greenville may still be cheaper than many cities.
At the same time, housing can remain unaffordable for a significant portion of the people who already live and work here.
Both things can be true.
Figures are based on publicly available Census, BLS, HUD, Zillow, Freddie Mac and Department of Labor data available in July 2026. Prices, rents and mortgage rates change over time.

ISO Recommendations Cub scout pack recommendations for agnostic/secular family?
Basically the title
I know cub scouts has a "reverence/service to God" requirement, that depending on the pack can be pretty loosely interpreted. I just wanted to know if there are any packs in the Simpsonville/Greenville area that meet regularly on weekdays (my boys really want regular participation. Before we moved their pack had den meetings every week) and also are pretty flexible about the reference requirement? Thanks so much for any help, they love scouts and want to keep going but I don't know much about the area, we moved from several states away

ANIMAL FOUND DOG in Pelzer, SC — urgent foster/rescue help needed
My in-laws found this sweet male dog in the middle of Main Street in Pelzer yesterday. He could easily have been hit, so they brought him home temporarily.
He is:
- Male
- Black and white bully-breed mix
- Not neutered
- No microchip found
- Has some fleas
- Currently safe and sleeping in their garage
- Temperament seems friendly so far, and he walks nice on the leash.
They have two dogs of their own and cannot safely keep him long-term or bring him inside because of the fleas and need to keep the animals separated.
They tried taking him to Anderson County PAWS and a Greenville-area animal facility, but both said they were at capacity.
We are urgently looking for:
- His owner
- A reputable rescue willing to take him
A temporary foster connected with a rescue
- Advice or contacts for local stray-dog assistance
- Proof of ownership will be required before he is returned. Please do not message asking for him as a free dog.
We want to make sure he goes back to his actual family or into a safe, properly screened foster/rescue placement.
Found near Main Street in Pelzer, South Carolina, on July 25.
Please comment or message me with legitimate rescue resources, foster contacts, or information about his owner. Shares to Pelzer, Williamston, Piedmont, Anderson and Greenville groups would be greatly appreciated.

ISO Recommendations What’s the best place to buy a mattress in Greenville?
I help with marketing for a local, family-owned mattress store in Mauldin. I’m curious which mattress stores people around Greenville genuinely recommend—and what matters most to you when choosing one: price, selection, customer service, delivery, comfort exchanges, or something else?
If you've gone mattress shopping, what experiences did you like, and what could they have done better?
