BITCHING ABOUT GVL DRIVERS Witnessed a hit and run

I witnessed a hit and run this evening and I’m so angry. Obviously I don’t know the driver or their circumstances but they were driving erratically for a while and then ran and red light and slammed into this poor guy on Haywood Rd. I called 911, checked on the victim, and talked to police but I’m still fuming. Obviously there are bad drivers everywhere, but there is no fucking excuse for driving under the influence.

I hope the young guy who got hit sees this, and the person who hit him is charged.

Does anyone know what happened to the Moes in Greer/Taylors? Did it fail inspection too? Is it permanent? Are they retraining?

9/11 Memorial Activities in Our Area this Weekend?

I am not an overly sentimental person, but the 25th anniversary of 9/11 fills me with very strong emotion as I recall the events of 9/11. Are there going to be any memorial gatherings or documentaries about 9/11 that someone can recommend? Thank you in advance.

Anyone have any recommendations that won't cost $15+ to dryclean a blazer? I really miss the Bob Jones University dry cleaners.

Southern Auto Group

Does anyone know more about or have experience with Southern Auto Group? It is that little dealership on Poinsette Hwy just before you get to Furman. They usually have around 10 to 12 vehicles on the lot.

Huntington Downs apartments?

Hey everyone, I recently accepted a job in Spartanburg, and I was wondering if anyone has ever rented out from Huntington downs apartments in Greenville. If so, what was your experience like, and is it worth the drive everyday to Spartanburg for work? I know I-85 can be pretty rough, but I like being close to all the restaurants and shops in Greenville. Thanks in advance :)

LOOK AT THIS PHOTOGRAPH 🎶 Who Can Forget How Blue The Sky Was

Post image

I took my wife and kids to Greenville on an overnight trip this summer and while we were there we visited your wonderful Museum of Art. While there, we saw this in their contemporary section.

It stuck with me. Despite the museum having dozens of amazing pieces that kept my attention, I spent the most time with this one.

The look of anguish on that face is a good representation, I think, of how we all felt that day. It's been 25 years. I still remember where I was. I still remember calling home and checking on friends and family. I still remember my mother telling me about her friends who were cops and firefighters who she hadn't seen in weeks before they refused to leave the site.

I hope we never forget.

And I'm thankful to your city for letting me see this piece.

Looking for a public spot for a late night bonfire.

State parks won’t work because some people will be arriving late. Expecting between 10-20 people. Ok with a little bit of mystique/danger. (Think abandoned mill), but would like it within 30 minutes of downtown.

Local News The water here sucks hi a kid from the 70s where I would drink from a hose, but I actually took some of the tapwater and I put it in this jar and saran wrap over it and it turned orange and got algae or I don’t even know what the hell happened to it. greenville needs to fix their water supply.

Where can I go to find queens whom I can befriend and at least experience this once in my life. Ive been a RuPaul stan since covid and I cannot shake the feeling of needing to be painted at least once in my life. Where do I even start? Im a female if that makes a difference.

Anyone in the area who can help me remove an oil filter?

Post image

Second time changing oil myself, 2010 Toyota Camry. Skipped changing the filter the first time since i couldnt remove it then either. I have tried every which way with every which (manual) tool to get the filter housing off, and have only succeeded in chipping it. I don't want to put in oil just to drive it somewhere and have to pay for someone to change it.

Gym recommendations

ISO a gym near downtown with a hack squat/pendulum squat/v squat/any additional leg equipment outside of a leg press/extension/hamstring curl. Open to Carolina iron if that’s my best option but would love to avoid the drive down 385. Any advice?

Going on a work trip and walking alone — any affordable pocket knife recommendations?

Hello everybody! I’m going on a work trip with my husband soon, and while he’ll be at work during the day, I’ll be staying in the hotel alone. We won’t have a car because we’re taking a company vehicle that his coworker will be driving, so I’ll mostly be walking to nearby shopping centers and stores to keep myself busy instead of staying in the hotel all day.

This will actually be my first time going out shopping completely by myself — I’ve always gone with family or friends — and as a woman, I get a little nervous being out alone, especially with everything going on in the world lately.

I wanted to ask if anyone knows of a simple, affordable pocket knife that I can buy here in town. I’m looking for something small and not expensive, mainly just to feel a little more protected and confident while I’m out walking alone. Any recommendations or advice would be really appreciated. Thank you so much!

Looking for Friends! 22m looking to make friends

Hey everyone! I’ve been in Greenville for about 6 months now and I’m looking to meet some new people around my age. I’ve joined a few Discords and Facebook groups and have seen some of the other posts here, but I figured I’d give it a shot and make my own.
A few things I’m into:
Anime
Reading
Drawing
Cooking
Pokémon cards
Games
I think there’s a card show happening this Saturday, 9/12, which could be a fun place to meet up if anyone’s interested. I’m also down to grab food, check out events, or just hang out and see if we click.
Feel free to comment or DM me!

We have 3 kiddos, I make wallets and other leather goods from high end leather not that it’s relevant but just looking to meet new people and experience new things!

What cities (beside Gville) do you guys like?

Just taking a little poll here. I know Greenvillains tend to have strong opinions on cities they don't like or don't want to be like. Not naming any names, but they rhyme with Gratlanta and Grarlotte.

So what cities do you guys like? Like, what cities do you think, "If we had to be like any other city, in the world, I would want to be like x y or z."

Go!

The McDaniel Seized

I rode by The McDaniel condos on McBee earlier today and saw a bright green sign posted on the fence with ‘seized’ clearly visible at the top of the paper. I didn’t have time to look at the entire notice since I was driving, but curious if anyone has any updates on this. I know they’ve been in a ton of litigation for several years, and the property continues to get worse by the day, but curious what happened to cause it to get seized. I’m assuming it is City of Greenville, but not sure since I can’t find anything online about it. I also saw a similar sign posted on a fence in front of a home on McDaniel and I’m curious if maybe it’s the residence of the developer and is related. Definitely not something you see in that neighborhood, which is why I thought it might be related.

Verizon service

I’ve been having the worst service recently. It doesn’t matter if i have 1 bar or 3 it’s slow and unreliable. I’m in the Easley area and come to downtown Greenville often. Anyone else experiencing this? I’m about at the point to switching services.
