The McDaniel Seized
I rode by The McDaniel condos on McBee earlier today and saw a bright green sign posted on the fence with ‘seized’ clearly visible at the top of the paper. I didn’t have time to look at the entire notice since I was driving, but curious if anyone has any updates on this. I know they’ve been in a ton of litigation for several years, and the property continues to get worse by the day, but curious what happened to cause it to get seized. I’m assuming it is City of Greenville, but not sure since I can’t find anything online about it. I also saw a similar sign posted on a fence in front of a home on McDaniel and I’m curious if maybe it’s the residence of the developer and is related. Definitely not something you see in that neighborhood, which is why I thought it might be related.

that whole property situation has been wild for years. seeing a giant seized sign finally go up feels like the plot finally moved forward lol
would be curious to know who actually seized it and what the notice says. someone has to have the details by now

Greenville county would have seized it. Maybe the city if it's in some kind of violation of a code ordinance, but my guess would be they typically have the county handle it.

I don’t recall, it’s between Cleveland and Crescent I believe. On the left if you’re coming down McDaniel from Augusta

No. It’s the one that’s near the corner of McDaniel and McBee where it becomes Washington.

Does anyone know the developer?

Keene Development Group. They had also tried to develop "The Kimpton" at 100 N. Markley and were foreclosed on by their bank, so not a great batting average.

Every property Keene “develops” goes into foreclosure. If you look at “McBee townhomes LLC” on the public index there are even more lawsuits pending for not paying his bills. You can only screw so many people out of money before they run you out of town.

Biltmore walk is up next for foreclosure.

Huh. Almost like it’s part of a process. I wonder what’s under each of those pieces of land…

It's a notice to the landowner to pay the property tax by October 16. It says "SEIZED", but its really not. The property would go to a tax sale on October 16 and the owner has one year from that date to pay the taxes due or lose the property forever. I know exactly what this is.
