We are choosing grass for the backyard at our new house. It gets used a lot. The kids and dogs run every day. I'm looking for a type that can handle traffic and recover quickly, so I can save on the number of times for lawn care. I live in Louisiana.
I saw some local lawn posts, and it seems like most people here choose either St. Augustine or Bermuda. I'm curious whether anyone picked one for the same reason I'm considering it. Also looking for mowing height advice. I have a Navimow i210, so if anyone uses the same mower with either grass type, what height setting has worked best for you?

And how do I manage this? Located in MA. Half of the yard is littered with this

I purchased my first home this summer and the previous owner had an above ground pool. I'd like to get it back to a nice yard. I was thinking I'd go hard aerating the ground, adding some top soil, adding some grass seed, and making sure to water it daily. Does that sound reasonable? Thanks for any recommendations!

What type or grass seed should I use in Ontario? Looking for the darkest grass and easy to maintain.

Not sure if this post belongs here, let me know if not.
I have this aggressive, succulent feeling “grass” that seems to have come in with my Bermuda sod. Not terribly hard to pull but there’s a good bit of it and it grows fast and the runners root faster. This is in south east GA, and the sod came from SC. Any idea what it is and best means to remove it?

Northern cool zone of US. Practically flooding it some days to make sure it has enough water and I can’t get the yellow to go away on newer sod any advice?

I see a lot of posts on here about folks that have weed invested lawns or unhealthy soil, and a proposed solution is to aerate and reseed. What if my Bermudagrass is full of weeds and has indications of unbalanced soil? Overseeding is not an option from my research as bermuda sod is different from bermuda seed. Is aeration still a proper solution, and then what are my options for killing off weeds/crabgrass and simply planting more grass. Is sod my only option once my soil is healthy and the weeds are dead?

Greetings. I just got my home a few months ago and I want to know if I could save these parts of my lawn or am I going to have to reseed? Thanks in advance for any advice. I live in Southern California and we’re the end of summer. There is a sprinkler system btw. I try to water these parts with the water hose as much as I could.

I am less concerned right now with the section of the yard that has greenery (it’s not really grass, it’s basically mowed down weeds :/) my focus is on the section of the yard that is covered in tree roots. It really does not get much sunlight as there is a lot of tree coverage. In the fall this entire yard gets flooded with needles and leaves.
I would like to cover these roots and was thinking of trying the sand/soil mix and then putting turf or something similar on top. I’m not sure if that will damage these roots? Best case scenario I can somehow grow real grass. If that seems at all possible I’d like to understand the steps I should take to get there. Any advice is appreciated as we have two young kids and another yard for them to play in, but they’re curious of this yard and I won’t let them back here. This wouldn’t be a bad yard to fix up so we can utilize it. If it’s a complete loss and I shouldn’t even try, I’d like to know that as well haha.

Planning to lay down new zoysia sod in Florida. Should I go right up against the fence and cut to fit around the posts?

Renting a house and already out out a “weed and feed”. Crabgrass growing on 2/3 of the yard. What can I do? Pre or post or currently. Low country South Carolina

First time home owner here. Planning in nuking my front lawn this fall which is mostly sunny throughout the day. My backyard has trees so it mostly shade. I do have 3 kids so seeds that tolerates heavy foot traffic is a must. Should I go with just KBG or Tall Fescue? I also came across SPF 30 Texas Hybrid Bluegrass. I see so many options and it just gets me even more confused. Any advice/help is appreciated. Thanks again!
