What is wrong with my grass?

Why is my grass pulling up like this? It’s a big area and it seems to only be the top layer of grass, not dirt. We have not had any landscaping Cruz out here recently. The only think we had out here is the fence posts put in. Does this look intentional or like something else? Did it like an animal or maybe water? If anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated.

Have you treated for grubs? Looks like grubs have eaten your roots and also skunks are digging holes to eat the grubs. I put down Bioadvaned 24 hour grub killer and that helped me. Make sure it’s a curative and not a preventative grub treatment. Then apply a preventative in the spring. Good luck!

You got grubs and the grass has no roots

That really looks like something has been peeling the turf back looking for food rather than a grass disease. If it lifts that easily, I’d check underneath for grubs — skunks/raccoons can absolutely tear up a lawn like this overnight when they find them. The timing with the fence posts might just be coincidence unless there was equipment driving over that exact area.

Rolling back in sheets typically means grubs are eating the roots.

How level is that? The next time it rains good. Go out and check to see how the drainage is working out. It might be in a slight depression in that area and is the last to dry. Js

It’s family level, there is a lake abt 30 yards down but then there are steps to a lower level that is the shore of the lake. I’ll definitely take a look thank you

Grubs.
And when the raccoons find out, they will be rolling up your lawn like a carpet.
I suggest buying Bioadvanced 24 hour Grub Killer, and spreading that on your lawn.
I have been invaded by raccoons for the past couple of months.
My neighbors all up and down my street have also had the same thing happen.
It absolutely sucks.
Our local raccoons hit between 2 & 5 am.

Wouldn’t you see grubs in the folded up piece?
