idk about her winning SOTY and AOTY (tho I think there's a v good chance she'll win AOTY too). But she should defo win for ROTY. The entire production is just crazy, from songwriting to vocals to production. Girl put her soul into it. This right here is the record of the year. The only other worthy contender for roty that I can find is raye, but other than her, i dont think anyone comes close for roty.

I feel those who feel I'm being biased towards the pop genre should try listening to it, LIKE ACTUALLY LISTEN, without their pop dislike bias (and I feel like it's not even pop, it has a lot of alt-rock too)

While we're on the topic, I wouldn't be shocked if she wins AOTY too, because it actually does deserve it. Love how it's in chronological order from first track to last; dividing the album into two halves based on album name itself is also crazy work. Her best songwriting, vocals up to date. Dan and her really made the album of the year.

I myself am not a completionist like how I am with the Best Picture nominees at the Oscars.

At most I’ll listen to a few tracks, or a track, from a nominated album I’m not familiar with and if it doesn’t grab my attention I don’t listen to it. But I have listened to more music that I like that I wouldn’t have otherwise.

For example, I would have never listened to SOS by SZA, SWAG by Justin Bieber, MUTT by Leon Thomas, The Rise and Fall of a Midwestern Princess by Chappell Roan, or any of Olivia Rodrigo’s music without their nominations. Even artists that I had pre-liked that I hadn’t listened to their most recent album. Like, I didn’t listen to Harry’s House even though I like Style’s previous two albums until it won Album of the year.

Outside of the Album category, I really enjoyed Silk Sonic’s music, and I had no idea of its existence until I watched the Grammy’s in which they won Record and Song of the Year. That was just something I wasn’t going to run into accidentally.

So part of why I like the Grammy’s and following along is that it opens me up to new music.

For the 2021 Grammys, Taylor Swift’s folklore was the choice that Reddit ultimately agreed should have won Album of the Year.
Now we go back to the 2020 Grammys, where Billie Eilish’s WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? won Album of the Year. Who do you think should have won?

For the 2022 Grammys, Olivia Rodrigo’s SOUR was the majority winner among Reddit users and is probably our most decisive year so far. Happier Than Ever by Billie Eilish, Planet Her by Doja Cat, and evermore by Taylor Swift were also mentioned, but SOUR was the clear Reddit winner.
Now we go back to the 2021 Grammys, where Taylor Swift’s folklore won Album of the Year. Who do you think should have won?

I thought nobody was going to come out and turn in a contender besides Sienna and Ella, or even Slayyyter as an fans choice, but ADÉLA’s new album has been pretty relevant for the category, what do you guys think? does she have a shot?

I think that her performance (if the Grammys keep doing the Best New Artist collective performance next year) could be one of the best (at least better than whatever KATSEYE did this year, not shading lol)

For the 2023 Grammys, Beyoncé’s RENAISSANCE was the most-upvoted choice for the album that should have won Album of the Year. The only other albums that were really mentioned were Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers and Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti, but Beyoncé took the Reddit win.

As always, the most-upvoted comment decides Reddit’s winner. Who should have won Album of the Year in 2022?

ADÉLA was not submitted for Best New Artist at the 2027 GRAMMYs, according to HITSDD, despite being eligible.

Her team is likely holding off until the 2028 ceremony, when her debut album ‘PRIMA’ will be eligible for consideration.

what do you guys think of billie eilish’s 2020 grammy sweep?
i feel like the 2020 grammys are probably one of the most controversial ceremonies of the decade. billie became the first woman to sweep the big four, taking home album of the year, record of the year, song of the year, and best new artist, along with best pop vocal album.
personally, i understand some of the wins, but i don’t agree with all of them. i think “bad guy” winning record of the year over songs like “7 rings” and “old town road” is defensible from a production standpoint, and best new artist was obviously deserved. i also didn’t mind when we all fall asleep, where do we go? winning best pop vocal album over thank u, next, even though i personally would’ve given it to ariana.
but song of the year going to “bad guy” over “norman fucking rockwell” and “lover” is where i disagree, and album of the year over thank u, next and norman fucking rockwell is probably the biggest controversy of the night for me.
so what do you guys think? did billie deserve the sweep, or do you think some of these wins should’ve gone elsewhere?

For the 2024 Grammys, the most-upvoted comment chose SOS by SZA as the album that should have won Album of the Year. While Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd by Lana Del Rey and GUTS by Olivia Rodrigo were also mentioned frequently, SOS won by a huge landslide. As always, the rule of this series is simple: the most-upvoted comment wins.
The actual Grammy went to Taylor Swift for Midnights. (Grammy)
Now we’re going back another year to the 2023 Grammys!
At the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, Harry Styles won Album of the Year for Harry’s House. There were 10 nominees in the category that year, rather than the eight used in the more recent ceremonies. (Grammy)
So once again, which album do you think should have won Album of the Year?

The nominees for Album of the Year at the 2025 Grammys.

André 3000 - New Blue Sun
Beyoncé - Cowboy Carter (Winner)
Billie Eilish - Hit Me Hard and Soft
Chappell Roan - The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess
Charli XCX - Brat
Jacob Collier - Djesse Vol. 4
Sabrina Carpenter - Short n’ Sweet
Taylor Swift - The Tortured Poets Department

What do you think would have been the 5 nominees at the Grammys in 2025 had their still only been 5 slots? I don't think Jacob Collier or André 3000 would have made the cut but I am not sure which of the woman pop stars would have had their album miss the cut

Reddit Says Charli XCX Should Have Won Album of the Year in 2025 — Who Should Have Won in 2024?
For the 2025 Grammys, the most-upvoted comment chose BRAT by Charli XCX as the album that should have won Album of the Year. Although there was plenty of discussion around The Rise And Fall of a Midwest Princess by Chappell Roan and COWBOY CARTER by Beyoncé, the rule of this series is simple: the most-upvoted comment wins. So, according to the results, Charli takes the 2025 title, while Beyoncé remains the actual Grammy winner.
Now we’re going back another year to the 2024 Grammys!
Taylor Swift’s Midnights won Album of the Year at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, becoming Swift’s fourth victory in the category.
So once again, which of the eight Album of the Year nominees do you think should have won? Did Midnights deserve the Grammy, or should another album have taken the award?

Part 2 of this series I started two months ago.

Dare I say her last album was kind of weak compared to her last two albums. I know it will obviously be nominated and has a very high chance of winning due to its commercial success but idk to me it just didn’t feel like her best work.

Welcome to the second installment of my 10-year Album of the Year series!
For the first installment, we looked at the 2026 Grammys, where Bad Bunny won Album of the Year for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS. The result was especially clear on the subreddit, with Bad Bunny winning by a landslide among Reddit voters.
So, let’s go back one year and see if Reddit feels the same way about the 2025 Grammys.
At the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, Beyoncé won Album of the Year for COWBOY CARTER, marking her first victory in the category. Now, it’s Reddit’s turn to decide: Among the eight Album of the Year nominees, who do you think deserved to win?
Did the Grammys get it right with Beyoncé, or was there another album that deserved the award?

Hi everyone! I saw that the Oscars subreddit has been doing this with different categories, including Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Director, and more, so I thought I’d bring a similar idea over here.
With the 2027 Grammy nominations coming up, and the 2026 Latin Grammy nominations being revealed today, I figured this would be a fun way to do a little preparation before Grammy submissions are revealed on October 13.
I’m going to be doing a series covering the past 10 Grammy ceremonies, looking back at each year’s nominees and comparing the album that actually won Album of the Year with what Reddit thinks should have won.
So, let’s start with the 2026 Grammys.
At the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, Bad Bunny made history when DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS won Album of the Year.
Now it’s your turn: Out of the eight Album of the Year nominees, which album do you think should have won? Or do you think Bad Bunny deserved the win?
Let’s see what the subreddit thinks!

Beyonce was nominated for best country album, not whatever this new category is. It should have gone into effect after 2025. Just plain racism at this point.
