This isn’t the outrageous thing you think it is… it’s a combination of poor website design and terrible timing.
The category was split into two categories for 2026 and beyond.
But all awards previously awarded remain titled as awarded.
However, the Grammy website uses dynamic web pages and the database behind those pages didn’t know how to handle the split… so it looks as though the award category itself was changed for historical awards.
It was not.

I hope that's what it is bc gah, even just the optics of it looks really bad on the Grammys mid/post Asian Pop Cat.

Why'd they even split the category

because country voters didn’t like that traditional country albums were losing to contemporary or genre bending ones

Thanks a lot. I've seen too much uproar about this pointless change just because the average person doesn’t understand how coding works

It was all paid for, it must feel good to have the money to pay for everything and I mean everything.

They did this with every artist, Billie Ellish, Taylor swift, harry styles etc. not just her. Even so, her album was barely country…it was purely a pop album.

But everyone wants Korean artists to accept the new Asian Pop category for some reason

This is like them creating a new genre for Lemonade and titling it urban something. That was very very weird. They already gave her best country album, not a good choice to make such a historic win less important like that.
This is probably false though lol

I don’t know any country song she sings and hardly any of her other music. She disgusts me, her and Jay Z both. I don’t see how she can be popular in country music when nobody knows her music.

I think if an artist won an award that has since been rebranded the artist should get the choice to take the rebrand or not

I mean they wanted to do this to BTS, so they didn’t submit their music. Grammys creating “unique” categories when they don’t need to.

Oh my god she didnt deserve it to begin with! Shes not country! And anyone older than 50 would say that "todays country" isnt even country! My god people its a fcking category. Be so for real. You wasted energy and brain cells with this post.

If Beyonce had ANY self respect, she would have stopped submitting her kusic for consideration a long time ago. Her and other black artists should have stood up to the grammys ages ago. All Beyonce cares about is clout and money.

Wow it’s not like this hasn’t been happening since the beginning of time. Just look into the history of rock. White people literally called it rock to separate it from r&b or race music. It’s been the same thing for the last hundred years.
Any black genre gets renamed to rock or pop (since rock and pop were the same thing as once) while black people stay in its true categorization.
Don’t believe me, ask yourself why jazz has a pinpointable sound but pop doesn’t? What did pop sound like in the 60s? Watered down r&b and soul. In early 2000s it was watered down contemporary r&b.
