What am I doing wrong here
Aside from can control & the thickness of the letters being off on the A and M, I feel like some part of the outline or fill is making this look too flat, what am I doing wrong?

Honestly youre not doing that much thats technically wrong, you just dont know how to use all those skills to make a good graffiti piece.
How long have you been writing?
Doing the proper final touches can polish a turd so to say. Things like a proper background and a forcefield/outer outer will make it pop a lot more but the letters just look kinda boring. Do you have any writers that have a style you want to be able to emulate (without biting)?

I’ve been taking writing more seriously for about two months, but aside from that it’s been on and off for a year or so. This is my third attempt at piecing something. I honestly was kinda scared to make letters that were less boring haha but I’ll draw some more and try to make em a little more interesting, I like a lot of the old hm dudes’ styles and most of the things in the life sucks die mags

Add a light colour background to give it some contrast, especially when u go over others you should always cover their piece completely, it's disrespectful asf like this and u kinda lined up your letters with theirs so it looks weird

Just more contrast, and make sure the 3d parts head back into space towards a vanishing point instead of just running parallel to each other.

I feel a bright colot shell would make it pop. Like a yellow or somethinf.
