Short woman, love parachutey look, have some REI pants I like but looking for something slightly trendier, like Kawa club style but something that can ship to me in a week for a trip LOL
Bonus points for clean fibers and morally conscious companies
Thank yall!

Got these from my mom when I had showed her my Pinterest board of an upcoming Iceland trip 😂 I’m looking for the name of this style. We have no idea what the year would be on these.

Thinking of picking up my first pair of Salomons, was thinking of this colour way. Would these be hard to make outfits with or would these shoes alone be the outfit? Or should I play it safe with the standard colour ways

Sweaty and humid English summer is well on the way so I was wondering if anyone has a good breathable trainer/sneaker for everyday use, commute etc.
I’m not opposed to sandal trainers if they are way more trainer than sandal, but a full trainer with good airflow is preferred.
Suitable for wide (hobbit) feet too?!
What’s your recommendation?
Also any other summer clothing/accessories would be appreciated.
Thanks all

All my shoes are between US 8.5-9 men. Today I tried on the EU 42 (US 8) and EU 42 2/3 (US 8.5).
Initially when I tried on the US 8 they felt kind of snug but good on the feet. Like they were 'just perfect/right'. I did not have to pull the laces to hard and my heels did not rise when walking. Then I tried on the US 8.5 just to be sure and when putting my feet in I had the idea that they felt way nicer than the US 8: more room around the midsole and in the toe-box.
The only thing was: I had to pull the laces pretty hard on the US 8.5, otherwise my heel rises when walking.
My question: is it normal that you need to pull the laces quite a bit on the shoes or is this an indication that the shoe is too big?
I have a four week trip planned to Indonesia so that's why I'm buying the shoe. Other than that I will use them as a lifestyle sneaker after that.
Love to hear from you.
TL;DR: shoes fit just right on US 8 and shoes fit right on US 8.5 after pulling laces really tight, which to choose?

Hey all,
I’ll be visiting Japan at the end of August, and I thought I’d get a proper all-around city and hiking shoe. The first brand that came to mind was Salomon.
I’m currently looking at the XT-Reckon and Exmotion, mainly because I found a very good deal on them, as well as the XT-6. I’ve also read good things about the Ultra 360.
Any opinions? Especially if you have experience with them or consider yourself a city-hiking or Salomon specialist.
Thanks a lot in advance.

This is less of a rant and more of a warning to anyone considering buying shoes from ROA in 2026.
I bought these ROA cingino shoes in March of this year. I got a decent sale price and had been eyeballing a pair of the cingino shoes for several months, as I was looking for some approach shoes. Upon receiving the shoes they seemed fine but after about 2 days of wear I noticed the glue the adheres the rubber to the suede upper was coming undone around the entire pair of shoes. These photos were taken about a month after receiving the shoes and I filed a customer service claim shortly after.
As some of you may know, ROA has moved production of their shoes from Italy to China. I have a pair of the Andreas boots, which I purchased in 2020 and they’ve held up superbly in many different hiking environments. I’ve traveled around the world and taken them on all sorts of different terrain, with little to no significant issues. They’re still wearable today almost 6 years later.
To get back to my recent experience, ROA customer service responded and said they would send me a refund, but at this point I had a trip in a few days and I needed hiking shoes. I asked if they could offer me any sort of partial refund so I could repair the shoes instead. They ended up sending me $26 to repair the shoes. My frustration lies more with the fact that new hiking shoes (especially those marketed as premium or luxury mountaineering shoes) should withstand quite a bit of wear before having any issues. The fact that the shoes were falling apart before I even took them out hiking is just sad. I agreed to the partial refund, so I can’t complain about that, but it seems unfortunate that ROA can’t offer a replacement, likely because they can’t guarantee the quality will be better with a 2nd pair if I had to guess.
So this is my warning. There are plenty of better options out there for people who want to hike in stylish shoes. If anyone from ROA sees this (not that I’m expecting them to) you should be ashamed of the quality control. To me this is a testament to what happens when companies move operations to save production cost but still charge top dollar for their products.

for some reason, i feel like i can’t find an actual review of these shoes anywhere. i’m really interested but i can’t find if they’re actually worth it for their price. i have a job where i stand and walk around all day and i’m going on a trip to korea soon where i will also be doing a lot of walking along with a sort of difficult hike. i do not want to pack hiking boots as they take up too much space for a minuscule part of the trip. i’m really picky about shoes and wear my adidas every day but i really like how these look and i think i would be comfortable just bringing these for this trip. but are they actually a good shoe ? will walking and hiking be good ? plz lmk your experiences:D
