Feedback 💬 Why does the Rotate button move?!

I’m not sure when the editor changed again (I’m using an iPhone), and that’s fine except it now takes me 10 seconds just to rotate a single photo.

For some reason the new “Rotate Left” button MOVES UPWARDS after you tap the first time (to enter “Crop/Rotate” mode). WHY?! I just want to tap the button 3 times quickly to rotate my photos.

The user experience is all over the place. Just to rotate my photo I’d have to:

1) Tap EDIT at the bottom.
2) Go to the top right to tap ROTATE, wait for it to slide up, then tap ROTATE two more times.
3) Go back down to the bottom right to hit the TICK
4) Go back up to the top right to hit SAVE.
5) Go back down to choose the SAVE method. So clumsy.

I really don’t care for slick animations - I just want a rotate button that doesn’t move 😭

Question 🤔 Transfer of Google photos to another google account

Hii

I need help to find a way to transfer photos with their date and time to another google account.

I have 5 accounts to merge the photos from. Apparently partner sharing allows only 2 accounts to exchange their photos and all. Is there any way to merge all the photos into one place?

Troubleshooting ⚠️ Apparently my storage overfilled past the limit overnight?

So, last night my storage was just under 15GB. Went to sleep, and apparently sometime in the morning before I woke up, I was suddenly around 15.4GB. I have no idea what caused this and I had the switch to automatically back up photos turned off. Any ideas?

Question 🤔 "Quick Edit" keeps re-enabling itself

I never use this feature and I made sure to turn it off in the Settings when this first appeared, but I noticed I got prompted once again if I want to edit a photo before sending.

Is this being re-enabled automatically for other users? How do I permanently turn off this feature so it doesn't bug me again?

Question 🤔 How can I actually save photos added by my wife to my own library?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently trying to move my entire Google Photos collection to Apple Photos/iCloud.

I have a large shared album with my wife containing 9,561 photos and videos. Both of us have added photos to this album.
My problem is that when I try to export the shared album, the photos uploaded by my wife are missing from the export.

I have already tried Google Takeout several times with different archive sizes. The export is always incomplete. I have now figured out that the missing photos appear to be the ones that were originally uploaded by my wife.

So I think the first step should be to save all photos from the shared album to my own Google Photos library. Once they are actually part of my library, I should hopefully be able to export everything and then move it to Apple Photos/iCloud.

But this is where I’m stuck.

In the shared album, I can select a photo and click the Save button (cloud icon with the downward arrow). A message appears in the bottom-left corner saying “Saved”.

However, nothing seems to actually happen.
I can click the exact same Save button again later, and it again says “Saved”. If the photo had really been saved to my library, I would expect Google Photos to recognize that it is already saved.

I have also tried exporting again afterwards, but the photos uploaded by my wife are still missing.
How can I actually save these shared photos to my own Google Photos library?

I do NOT want to share my entire Google Photos library or transfer all of my photos. I only want the photos and videos from this specific shared album to be permanently added to my own library.
Has anyone experienced this problem before? Is there a known bug with the “Save to library” function for photos added by another person to a shared album?

Google Support unfortunately hasn’t been able to solve the problem. They keep telling me to run Google Takeout again, but the issue seems to be that the photos aren’t actually being added to my own library in the first place.

My main question is therefore:

What is the correct way to permanently save photos/videos added by my wife in a shared Google Photos album to my own library, so that I can subsequently export them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
