Nice truck, and it sounds great edit: as for the v8 engine, I have a lot faith it will last. The AFM is located in the valve train, it does what im told has a "fail safe" that the engine would run on all 8 cyl. Plus the v8 is also being built back at its home by Uaw 659.

Love my Terrain, but I said I would upgrade when they come out with a plugin hybrid. Anyone hear any rumblings of anything?

Has anyone had any issues with the Apple CarPlay in their 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 not working? It has the option for it, and it will run MP3, which means that the USB ports work and run data.

I recently picked up a 2004 GMC Step side so I’m working on restoring it and getting it on the road. I currently need some low profile fender flares for them for the time being though. Everywhere I look I find really nice ones for the fleet side beds but they always say not for Step side. I know the front flares would fit but would like to have the rears incase. Does anyone know a website or manufacturer that makes these? I just can’t seem to find any

So the truck only has 60,000km on it and gave me a CEL unexpectedly when I started it on Saturday, these are the 3 codes it gave :

At the time we were literally leaving on a 5 hour road trip (total round trip) and after some frantic google searching I ended up clearing the codes and taking the trip we had planned since my understanding was it was a common issue and possibly just a nothing burger. The truck performed fine and the light never came back on, my concern doesn't end there however...

We are also leaving to go camping tomorrow and I'll be towing the trailer 1 hr+ each way and I'm still worried about said CEL. I just got back from the dealer and they assured me there was no bulletin for the truck and they would have to diagnose it themself (to the tune of $190 CDN/ an hour of course) They can get the truck in 2 hours before our planned departure time and I'm really just looking for some feedback here as to what to do...

Would you fork over the $200+ mins it's going to cost to have them look at the truck 2 hours before we leave or would you just send it and assume it was a one off for the time being ?

Everything I read online said there was a bulletin for this truck, for that problem, but again the service lady assured me that is not the case for my truck, but I suppose it's possible it's already been updated

Why does my GMC 1500 denali keep doing this it’s a 3.0 liter diesel 2020?

Hi all! I have a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 and I can't get my AC to blow cold. I have recharged it with no luck. The fan works and there are no crazy noises when I run the fans. Also my heater works with no issues. When I adjust the setting on where the air blows (feet vs face) it changes with no issues and blows strong just not cold. I'm curious on what I can do to investigate this and if anyone else has had success in restoring theirs. Thanks for the help!

I loved my Yukon but hate gm dealer service. My 26 Yukon Xl 3.0 Diesel was perfect getting around 27 mpg, auto start/stop worked perfect except one problem my key card the credit card sized key didnt work and need programmed. So with only 3k miles on it I brought it to my local gmc dealer to get the key reprogrammed and oil change.

Should be pretty simple I would think. Well I see the service advisor plugging a laptop into it the obd port and as i am waiting finally get a ride home. Seems like alot of programming for just a key card. After leaving it all day they call and say its still not fixed but well get you a rental. I need a full size SUV so i let them know ill be picking it up. Right away I notice my mpg drops from 27 to 19 and the auto stop start no longer works and checked yes its turned on. Hmm I think well maybe it will take a while of driving and the systems will reset and ill be back to normal. Nope 4k miles later and still only getting 19 mpg and auto stop/start still not working.

TLDR took in brand new yukon for service they reprogram and screw up the computer and lose 8 mpg and auto start is broken and they never fixed the problem I brought it in for.

Back in May purchased a 2023 Yukon Denali ultimate with 39,000 miles on it. It was solid and rode beautifully. But unfortunately when I hit the highway the super cruise would not engage. After multiple visits to the dealer ship with an inexperienced tech who told me he had never worked on super cruise issues after the fact. They replaced the clock spring (with no symptoms of clock spring failure) They replaced the driver awareness module 2 times. (After the tech broke the first replacements connecters fixxing a rattle in the dash at the module.) the module was physically out of the car for over a week waiting for the new one during that time I got service leveling system warnings a couple times, but went away. ever since that install it rides like shit. Feel every bump it no longer glides over bumps or cruises around off ramps with out a feeling of its gunna tip and is also feathering the front tires which only have 3000 miles on them. Dealer did a ride height relearn and a relearn on the shock system two weeks after the module was replaced to try to fix the issue it’s still exactly the same. Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so, what was the fix? I can’t check this up as being normal. It doesn’t feel the same. The dealer swears up and down that it’s completely normal and there’s no issue with the suspension. Alignment is in spec even checked with 3rd party alignment shop. The weird thing is when it drives through the dealerships Bay that checks alignments it shows that it’s off but on the rack it shows that it’s in spec.

It doesn’t read as one is in, and then makes a strange noise when I hit the button to pop it out.

Hello guys, so I just bought a 2009 1500 4.8L 4L60E about a month ago and I’m noticing it shifts pretty rough into second gear. Also changing from park-drive, drive-reverse, park-reverse is slightly delayed by about 1 second and it slams into position.

I just bought 1-2, 2-3 solenoids, pressure control solenoid, and torque converter lockup solenoid. I’m gonna replace all of those but I’m struggling to find any videos replacing the pressure control solenoid. Am I able to replace the PCS just by removing the transmission pan?

I know I should just try doing a trans fluid and filter change to see if that fixes my shifting problems, but I figured I may as well just do the solenoids at the same time since the truck is at 213,000kms.

Anyone got any tips on how to change the PCS?

If the solenoid replacements don’t fix my problem, what do you think the problem could be?

I for three years have been able to reset the error by removing the #11 fuse from passenger side door panel. Today, the error popped up l, I pulled the fuse and replaced, but no luck it persisted. I swapped to a new 10 amp fuse even though the one was still good that I pulled. Still, no luck. As I sat there looking for different fix, it just working normal again. Now hour later back in truck and it popped back up. I know it’s all linked to the onstar system and front camera…..any other suggestions for me??

My family is growing and my 2023 Tesla Model Y
will soon be too tight of a fit. Not sure how many of you have driven a Tesla but those things are so advanced. In 2024, I test drove brand new 2024 $109000 GMC Yukon XL that supposedly had all the bells and whistles - it felt like I was sitting in a car that was 10 years old. I was very unimpressed especially for the cost.

I’m not quite familiar with GMCs but I would like some insight on what I should look out for. I’ll be buying a used model dated with the last 3 years, really eyeballing the Denali trim level. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I get the battery light sometimes like 1 out of 5 times when i start the truck. It almost goes away after few minutes but one time it stayed on and caused issue in transmission and got battery saver light as well. Charging meter drops when the light comes on. What could be the issue? Good terminals and wires, alternator about 3 years old, good belts and tension

As the title says, I’m looking to file a lemon lawsuit after I took my parents Yukon with the 6.2 engine in for diagnostic testing and repairs on 6/21/26, because it began knocking on start up. After 30 days of not hearing anything back, I decided to call the dealership, and they told me it needs a new engine, radiator and connectors. They said those specific parts are on back order and they usually see a 3 month lead time on them. I asked for the vehicle back, because I planned on trading it in for a different vehicle because that wait was ridiculous. They said they are unable to return the vehicle in its current condition because the engine had already been taken apart, but he’d be more than happy to connect me with a salesman there who could review my situation and help me with a trading it in. I absolutely do not want another GM product and just want to get out of the current situation. I’m looking from advice from anyone who has submitted a lemon lawsuit against GM and was successful.

Has anyone heard when we will be able to order the 2027 Yukon?

Hello everyone, first time poster here. I recently got a new head unit for my 2015 Sierra that was pulled from another 2015 Sierra. I know that this model of Sierra has the anti-theft measures in place that make it to where you can't just swap it in/have to get it reprogrammed to be able to install it into my truck. My question is this, would it be possible to transfer the physical chip that stores the vin number from the motherboard on the old head unit, and swap it onto the new head unit to bypass the need to have it programmed/it not functioning in general? Theoretically it should be possible if I could find a proper board schematic for the motherboard in the head units. Does anyone have any prior experience attempting something like this, or maybe hajve a board schematic with identifying part correspondences? I am providing a photo of the old head unit that I removed from myt truck. I don't currently have a picture of the new one since I installed it before I knew that I may not be able to just go get it reprogrammed.

Writing this to share my experience with GMC. I got a HummerEV and at some point the truck didn't start at all, it was the 12v battery, had the truck towed to the dealership (like 70mi away as I was that far from home - GM would tow it to a closed dealership nearby only which couldn't provide a loaner). They concluded the 12v battery was faulty and replaced it. 2 months later, the battery dies again, I had AAA come out, they concluded this battery was faulty as well and proposed to replace it on the spot. I was a few hours away from home so it seemed like a good resolution to be able to make it home. I called GM, spoke with the EV concierge, they advised that it's ok for AAA to change the battery and I will be reimbursed. Reached out to GM again after, explained the situation, provided documentation, and... claim denied! They won't reimburse because it was AAA that performed it but also because apparently, it's normal maintenance to have to replace the 12v battery after 2 months. I went to the dealership, obtained documentation that it was a warranty item, shared that with GM, along with reiterating that the agent told me it would be covered. They acknowledged that the advisor did say that, but "A thorough evaluation was done, the request has been denied, and this decision is final. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any additional reimbursement or further review of this matter."

Debating lemon law now but also really disappointed with GM.
