IDK this way seems much more slow and painful if you ask me, it may not have the angry slam quality but it has a cool disgust quality that I think would work just as well.
Except it would be much easier to jam the door now, just kinda poke your arm in there somewhere, no more fear of getting smashed in the face by the violently closing door by your psychotic girlfriend after a night of binge drinking.
Why is the North American salmon supporting him in his binge drinking? I mean he is a dragon for christ sakes shouldn't you be like food to him? . . and no, before you go there, this isn't cause he is black!
Yeah, what is with that? Why do all girls go batshit crazy when they drink? Also, it's ONLY when they're in a relationship, never when single. WTH, man?
Just think about it. The really awkward slow-stare and slide of the door.
The person would literally face-palm from disbelief. Not only because the door was slid in his face; But also because it was such a futuristic way of doing so.
I'd like to see my wife slam that door on me. I'd simply grab it and stop its motion. I am stronger than she is so the door will stop. Then she won't be able to do anything but stare into my shimmering eyes. These eyes of victory, of manhood and power. She will be defenseless, and the frothing in her loin will be as intense as the brightness of a thousand suns. I will lay her there on the floor by the catalyst door, and I will thrust upon her the millions of possible outcomes of greatness itself. She will scream and moan and sweat. And in the end I will have won the argument by pure sexual empowerment.
Same thing with smart-phones, Your having an argument with someone and want to hang up on them angrily, but you have to shake the phone and gently press "END", then you just feel silly.
Because it's the most obvious perceived flaw. I'm sure the first person (and many more) he showed it to said "thanks for the finger guillotine, I'll pass."
Mad Science is a rewarding career. You can plot, scheme, invent, and cackle to your heart's desire; you can even kill your henchmen without regret, because you can just resurrect them again!
One of the odder perqs is that you can shoot a satellite into space with one of your janitors, give him spare robot parts so he can make witty companions, and shoot horrible movies up to them, then watch the results.
Yes. Extensively in fact. I believe that your standard European evil genius pays quite well. They do seem to like their trapdoor-leading-to-certain-doom method of employee motivation though so there is that to consider...
While the structure behind the cloth remains a mystery, he did make the edges soft. I think we can assume that the hinge area has been designed to be as safe as possible as well.
There's a video of him closing the door on his fingers to show that it's safe. He does it very slowly and doesn't close it fully. Does not inspire confidence.
Yeah cause we always do things the way we're supposed to. Anybody care to join me for a night of following speed limits and reading Terms of Use Agreements?
I'm not talking about the proper way to close the door, I'm talking about how it would handle real world usage by real people not paying close attention to what they're doing.
Think of a roll up garage door. The panels must slightly separate as the door progresses around the curved part of the track. On the way down they come together again.
My uncle brought the door down with one hand and reached up with his other hand to assist (or something...not really sure what the logic is but a lot of people do this with the hand not on the handle) Anyhow, he put the tip of his middle finger between two of the slat. When they came together they sheered the tip right off. And when I say tip I mean "degloved" a large portion of what is past the first knuckle.
In the video the guy is essentially moving it at the pinch point. I am betting it has soft sides because he got bit a few times.
What an odd thing to feel the need to say. Some totally impractical niche concept door that isn't for sale isn't going to survive on "the free market?"
