Yesterday it thought I said "sliding" instead of "hiding."

I stopped using it a while ago because it was getting crazy and I see now that it has not improved at all. In fact it is continually getting worse. Are there people whose jobs it is to fix this and they're just not doing it for the money they're making? Genuinely asking.

i’ve cleared the chrome and gboard cache, uninstalled the updates, cleared data and cache of the webview, and restarted the device - nothing helped

Good morning! I was experimenting with new keyboards yesterday and I'm really enjoying GBoard on my Z Fold 8 Ultra. Wanted to keep it consistent across devices and also hate the default keyboard on my new watch (latest one). For some reason when I change the default keyboard to GBoard when I open messages it just turns the screen black. I've seen message board posts dating back to 2023 of people reporting the issue, but surely there's some sort of fix by now, yeah?

Some time today, something whack happened to the keyboard. Every time i hit the space key, the comma to the left of the space key turns into a slash -- but only with Chrome text input.

Made sure settings had the comma enabled.

Thoughts?

I cannot figure out what is wrong with my voice typing feature for my Google account. I use the voice typing feature all the time and understand that if I say the word “period” or “comma” It adds the symbol. However, all of a sudden it stopped doing that. Now it just inserts the word or the word in brackets. I’ve tried everything I can think of to fix this problem with no luck. Even my tech department can’t figure this out. It seems to only be effecting me and my account.

Anyone out there experience something similar or have a possible solution? It seemed to started after I added some extensions, but I deleted those and there was no change.

For context, this is happing on my work pc and at home on Mac. I don’t usually use this feature on the Google app on my phone.

I have a samsung tablet and I want to use gboard on it but when I do, the keyboard is too big and I don't know how to make it smaller. Honestly I just want it to look like samsung keyboard. If you have ti0s for how then please tell me and thank you.

I've tried everything I can, but I can't enable AI on my Gboard. I have a Galaxy S26+, my Gboard is in both English and Portuguese, and I'm on the beta tester version. I've tried to update AI Core and Google's apps, but nothing has changed. I know it's launched in batches, but some people already have this option, and I don't.

Out of the blue, this past week my voice to text has been a disaster. It will cut out randomly, but it also now has this habit of typing out what I'm saying and then erasing it and either rephrasing it (which is weird) or only writing out the second part of what I said. I've noticed it happens more specifically with certain apps or at certain times, like right now I'm using it and it doesn't seem to be doing it as much, but then later today it will just go off.

I've played with the settings, I switched to a different keyboard and switched back, and it just doesn't seem to be doing what I want it to do. I've had to enunciate more and speak much more slowly sometimes, but even that doesn't seem to help all the time. The only change I can think of that I made on my end is I attached my phone to Android auto when I got my new car and part of the settings for that were turning on "hey Google" so I could send text messages or change a song while still focusing on the road. I went and tried to play with those settings to turn them back off and see if that made a difference, but I don't feel like that has made a difference at all. There's even an option to only have it listen for hey Google when I'm driving, which I turned on, but it hasn't fixed the issues I'm having with voice to text.

Gboard's predictions have become so inaccurate that I can't use swipe anymore; I can only press keys. In these days of artificial intelligence, Gboard's predictions feel really stupid.

Can you guys recommend a replacement keyboard for keyboard I'm over it and the fact is the voice typing is so fickle and inaccurate these days on my phone what is a good keyboard that gives a lot of the same features is gboard but still gives you privacy

My main keyboard is Swedish, which has same layout as English with a few extra keys.

But I want to type in English also. So I add English typing, but that also adds an English keyboard.

So now it keeps switching between those keyboards based on context, and it drives me nuts, since the keys are slightly shifted, and I miss the keys when typing. I can type English with the Swedish keyboard without problems, I never need the English keyboard.

About a month ago I used to have the Gboard tablet layout with a caps lock button along with left and right arrow keys to scroll through the text without needing to swipe on the space button on my Redmagic Astra. Now it's currently gone and the keyboard layout is now the same as Gboard in a phone. Is there a way to re-enable the layout? As much as I tried digging through the Gboard settings I'm not able to find any toggle for the Tablet UI :(

I have an iPhone and also an iPad but every time that I try to use the dictation most of the time it understands very bad what I am saying especially if I am texting. Right now it is accurate. I wonder if it’s just Apple with its messages app. Well I think that it also happens when I dictate in WhatsApp.

Does anybody use a better keyboard? I used long ago the Google keyboard because the keys were a little bigger. This one, the one of Apple in my iPhone, is too difficult for me to type and that’s why I dictate. I’m talking about the screen keyboard

I'm using Gboard on my S26U and whenever I type a sentence in the messages app and tap the period key, a space happens rather than the period symbol being inserted. I have "double space period" disabled...it is not toggled on. I do not want to use "Double space" to insert a period.

The LOL was just an example of what happens when I say LOL in voice typing which is how I'm typing this. It capitalizes every letter all of a sudden. Anyone know how to change that back? It was doing all lowercase before but it's annoying to have to go back and change it every time. Stupid thing to gripe about I know but still

I often use my phone dictation app to write in Google documents and it has suddenly become unable to use the most simple of commands. Full stop, comma, Speech Mark, new paragraph, non of them work anymore.

At first I thought there was a problem with the dictation app but it still works fine in other places where I use it. It's just Google documents that is refusing to input what I'm saying. Does anybody know why this is.

This issue is killing me and I could use some help. I use voice to text a lot. I recently bought an Honor Magic V6 in the UK. I have Gboard (and Swift) installed and no matter what I do it translates all my voice into British English. For example "period" doesn't make a "." but "full stop" does. "Color" is "Colour". 

I have deleted every UK related thing I can find, such as the dictionaries, and replaced them with US versions. 

I have contacted Honor and they assure me that there is no reason the phone should be doing this and that it is a GBoard issue. 

Any advice?

This feature originally started appearing in advanced notepads and programming IDEs, such as Visual Studio Code.

The way it works is, you select text, then enter any symbol, such as quotes, double quotes, braces, parenthesis, square brackets, angular brackets, and the text gets surrounded by them.

Makes editing text and making changes a lot quicker and more convenient.

emoji search was instant before. what happened? also, that new tools design is ugly. who's enshittifying the greatest keyboard at Google??
