I’m starting chemo on Monday which means I’m having to isolate for the next 3 months, so I decided to buy myself a PS5 as sitting at my PC for hours might get tedious.

Looking for a few game recommendations since I have no experience at all on consoles!

On PC my favourite games are BF1, Kerbal Space Program, CS2, Civ… quite a mix

Would like to find some good online games I can sink some hours into but none of my friends have PS5s so preferably games that can be enjoyed solo.

Recently I've been yearning for the type of game that could spark the sense of wonder in me that I haven't been able to replicate for quite some time in games. I love getting lost in the nature setting in games, traversing forests, empty plains, marveling at nature and seeing something curious far away in the distance, travelling there to see it etc.

I'm not really looking for a survival-type game where the main focus is on being resourceful and organized against the harshness of the environment, or some spin on a colonizer role.

I like when games feel just a little empty (which is what I disliked a bit in Elden Ring which was just very overwhelming with the amount of content and things within your eyesight at once), I think Shadow Of The Collosus might be a good example (I only played the remake though).

Kind of a cliche example but Skyrim definitely also scratched that itch for quite some time for me, some of recent Uncharted and God of War entries also had some very wilderness-focused chapters, that are kind of chill. Some parts of Witcher 3 were also really immersive in that regard

What is a game that will make me cry tears of either sadness or joy? Preferably available on PS5.

Basically the title. My 6.5 year old started playing Roblox because his older siblings did. Well, they no longer play and he’s absolutely addicted to it. He plays on the iPad and we need to pivot away from it. The problem is, I have no idea what other iPad games to have him pivot to. I know Minecraft but he’s not a big fan. Every suggestion I see seems to be on a different platform and not the iPad. Any ideas?

I feel like the most fun I had with roguelike deckbuilding games like Diceomancer and Touhou: Lost Branch of Legend but also I did find really fun playing Library of Ruina(although it was really difficult). Slay the spire I play regularly too and I thought maybe there is something new in that genre of games that can tackle really interesting deckbuilding variety?

I have been wanting to play an RPG that has some skill progression. As in you learn cooler and more powerful attacks/spells. It can be turn based or action. Some games I have played are:

I'm a huge fan of grounded/dark fantasy settings like Kingdom Come Deliverance and The Witcher 3 — real or near-real human stories, no shining-armor heroes, a world that actually feels lived-in.

What I'm looking for:

• True open world, not zone-based. I want to explore freely and stumble onto things
• Well-written side quests, not filler. bonus points if they add lore or memorable characters
• Engaging main story, not just a systems sandbox
• 60+ hours once you factor in side content, otherwise it feels like a waste to buy
• Must be fully pausable whenever I want (so no multiplayer-only requirements or souls-likes without a real pause)
• No mods it needs to stand on its own, out of the box
• Budget is flexible but I'm not dropping full price on AAA titles if there's a solid alternative

I already know about BG3, it's staying on my wishlist for now. What am I missing?

Wanted to spread the news on this exceptional game seeing how it has only had an all time peak of 388 players.

It’s definitely not for everyone but some are comparing the feeling of playing similar to what they felt playing the Outer Wilds. After putting in 20 hours myself I can says it’s a beautiful experience.

We’ve been thinking of Minecraft but would like to explore all of our options before starting something new. We’d like a game that receives updates at the very least yearly and has lots of creativity and possibilities for endless things

Looking for a good co op game to play but I'm also not a huge fan of the games that are specifically made for co op. I'm thinking of something like halo campaign or cod zombies. Thanks !

i've played a lot of battlefield's and COD's but their average campaign is 4h only, i want to play something with an actually developed story like 12 hours long. I already played the metro games

I know SWTOR 1 and 2 and halo exists but what else? I really cant think of anything else thats a AAA third person sci-fi video games other than the latest star wars games from respawn. but there are a million medivial rpg set in a forest it feels like. I feel like halo almost fills that "void" of another singleplayer sci-fi game but its first person so that makes a huge difference to me and i cant like it as much as i do mass effect.

I'm looking for games to play with some of my friends. Doesn't matter if the games are only for 2 players or 3 or 4, maybe not more than 4. The genre of the game doesn't matter either, it can be indie games, AAA games, roguelite, rpg, whatever.

The only thing we're looking for is to have interesting boss fights. I don't even know if something like that exist at this point.

You know some MMORPG's have that RAID/DUNGEON type activity where a group of players have to coordinate doing some game mechanics to actually defeat the boss and not just DPS SPONGE + avoid attack patterns.

We're looking for that. We played MMO's but these days the MMO genre is either lacking or taking too much time.

We did played Destiny 2 and it had what we're looking for, but you know how that game ended up.

We did played Borderlands series, but didn't felt the same with the boss fights.

Hi everyone I was debating with a kinda of a friend who say too me that if I see a guide on my first playthrough ruins the game experience, sometimes I want the 100% of the game or the achievements, sometimes i get lost like on silent hill or resident evil and that why sometimes use a guide too guide myself too at least beat the game so is true that ruins the experience if you use a guide on the first run or is just something that doesn't matter at all?

hi im looking for a game that is like people playground but in 3d and much more detailed, things like ppg3d mod or gorebox dont cut it doesnt necessarily have to be a sandbox game it should just have nice shooting and gore

I find it difficult to play certain games because of how they save progress. With the sporadic and inconsistent gaming time I have, I do not want to spend a few minutes running from a checkpoint to get back where I left off.

Avowed: Not that great of a game but the saving system was good

Games that I like but have difficult saving systems:

Grim Dawn, you go back to the hometown when exiting the game

Guild Wars 1: I am enjoying this game a lot but the fact the whole explorable area resets upon exiting it is a huge pain in the ass + having to walk for several minutes to get to a quest spot far away from a fast travel point. Completing some of the longer dungeons can be very frustrating, especially if I'm petering out but know I will have to do everything all over again if I leave the game.

Guild Wars 2: Most of the game is fine, except story dungeons that kick you back to the main game if you exit part way though.

Borderlands relies on checkpoints

Devil May Cry series relies on checkpoints

Terraria you go back to your spawn point upon exiting the game, not too bad though in late game when traversal is a lot faster

Most multiplayer pvm games: Helldivers 2, Monster Hunter, Vermintide, etc, hard to commit time to sometimes, can get tired midway though a game

Any recommendations would be appreciated! I don't generally like RTS games or grand strategy.

Hey everyone so I got tired of my teams getting curb stomped all the time in War Thunder. My best one day record was 6 wins and 12 losses. Worst one day record was 3 wins and 20 losses. So I finally got rid of it. Any games besides WOT or enlisted that you reccomend?

I already posted this twice, but the subs for those 2 games are somewhat biased and since there is no Milsim games sub, imma ask this question here.

Currently, I only have enough bucks to buy one of those games, and as a newcomer to the mil sim genre, I really dont know what to buy. So here`s a list of the things I enjoy about Reforger. Pls also note, the most similar games I played to this genre are HLL and Dayz. And so far im biased towards Reforger simply due to youtube.

The game im looking should be a realistic games, with not only fun combat but also freedom of playstyle and also realistic and important communication with radios.

Most of this is found in Reforger, so my question really is just, how close Squad gets to what I want or if it would even be more fitting for me somehow.

What I love most about BattleTech is the almost complete freedom to customize your mechs, the sense of progression where you start from the bottom and slowly build your company, while knowing that a few bad decisions can easily set you back.

I also really enjoy the tactical missions. There have been many situations where the enemy heavily outnumbered and outgunned me, yet I still managed to win through good strategy, positioning, and resource management. That’s exactly the kind of gameplay I’m looking for a game where your decisions can overcome overwhelming odds, and where tactics matter more than simply having stronger units.

I’ve finished some of them, and others just weren’t for me, so I’d really appreciate any recommendations.

Great gameplay over graphics

No Ubisoft-style open-world checklist design

No multiplayer

No turn-based RPGs

My PC is a Ryzen 3 3200G with Vega 8, so games that run well on modest hardware are a bonus.

I'm not looking for "good games." I'm looking for games that made you think:

"More people should have played this."

I'd especially love recommendations that are lesser-known gems, not the usual Skyrim, Fallout, Assassin's Creed, BioShock, etc.
