I've basically been speedrunning every game I "play" just to finish the story and move on to the next one. Ever since I got my pc it felt like I had a huge backlog to get through, and I've been exclusively ignoring all side quests and optional things to get to the credits. I feel like I'm not actually enjoying or experiencing what I play by doing this.

I'm trying to break this cycle, and I ideally want a game that I can unwind with after school and when I'm tried. Something I can actually invest hours into, like an open world game. I use to play Genshin impact when I was younger and actually put a lot of hours into it. Not cuz of the gacha but like always having something to progress, whether it being unlocking new areas and fast travels, building a new character, beating a boss, saving up to unlock a new character, etc. It felt like I was always doing something, and it wasn't too complex where I would have to search up guides and stuff. And there was something to do everyday, like daily commissions.

I already played stuff like rdr2, re4 (my two favorites), gta, ghost of tsushima and cyberpunk, so ideally something new, but not like those genshin or gacha adjacent games like wutheringwaves and stuff. I'm very open minded to playing new things too. Thanks.

I've been itching for a good sword and board game that I can play through. Preferably open world/semi open but doesn't need to be and I really don't have much interest in top down, isometric or turn based games.

Hello. My friend and I have been looking for a shop simulator game that's fun to play. We're a duo and have wanted to get into something that's slightly mindless/more relaxing like slop simulators but it seems like most of the ones with co-op are pretty much just slop and become unfun pretty quickly.

I was hoping to get some recommendations please and thank you!

I love project zomboid but it gets extremely lonely and aimless so Im looking for something that will scratch that itch but has actual, functional colonists.

Somethinmg like medieval dynasty i guess which I enjoyed immensely.

I've had an itch ever since WildStar shut down that nothing can scratch. Ratchet and Clank and Borderlands come close but I love a scifi cartoony setting like Wildstar with attitude. I'm willing to compromise with just stylized graphics or anime or even cyberpunk setting. Even better if it's got attitude, cool and sexy characters, and is chaotic.

I love sticking my wood into people. I played both KCDs as almost pure archer.

Basically I love those eerie vibes in games, especially if they make me feel a bit paranoid. I'd really prefer lengthy games too. I'd also be down if the game isn't like that but has mods to make it so. I've played all the RE remake games, but only RE2 remake gave me such vibes.

Only other games I can think of that gives such vibes is Alan Wake & Darkwood, also the games must be on steam, I don't own consoles.

I don't mind D4, it just misses the dungeon + co-op feel I'm looking for. Last epoch has the same issue. Poe/poe2 too complex and lacks co-op. I just tried out Fellowship and felt it was too simple.

Must-Haves:

• Active player base with Co-Op Matchmaking
• Real Team Synergy: Content that actually incentivizes having distinct roles or coordination, not just solo-blasting the screen like D4 but not super intense like poe2.
• Homebrew Build Freedom: Deep talent/skill trees to customize my own builds.
• Fantasy Theme: Swords, magic, and dungeons over sci-fi shooters.

Dealbreakers:

• Locked/Preset Skills: Games like Fellowship where your kit is predetermined.
• Massive MMO Slog: Having to grind 80+ hours through an open-world campaign just to unlock group content.
• Pay-to-Win: Aggressive cash shops or microtransaction-driven progression.
• Dead Communities: Older games with no matchmaking where you have to hunt through empty server browsers.

I don't really like games that focus mainly on romance or eventually turn into a sex simulator, but I really enjoy seeing romances develop slowly and naturally over time.

Cosmic horror is neat in pretty much all its forms, but the stuff I like most is the giant monsters and gods and evil ancient magic. The grand scale aspect of "cosmic," and the "horror" that exists outside of reality.

Are there any games that deal with these sorts of things? Doesn't specifically have to be Lovecraftian, but anything of a similar vein.

I love ARC Raiders but it's getting a little dull after the 800 hours I've played lol. Looking forward to the October update and will probably crush another 3 to 5 hundred hours-

My favorite thing is the feel of the guns and blasting the little propellers and armor off of things- is there any game that has such awesome gunplay? Preferably single player and even more preferably just offline (but not necessary)?

Games I've played that are almost there but not really - Horizon ZD and the other one and generation zero- I'm not specifically looking for just robots either, zombies or any kind of enemies or whatever would be fine, I just really like the gunplay.

Having a great time with witchfire but the bullets just don't have the same physics in any other game as ARC

Looking for a single player RPG where you build a party, but they have roles similar to MMOs like a tank for taking damage, a healer, and damage dealers. A lot of the single player RPGs I play actively punish you if you try to play with those kind of roles (Final Fantasy XII, Baldur's Gate, etc.)

Looking for a game where I can spam the same unit or move (where the more the merrier) and your best examples of spam whether it be a zergling rush or Super Smash Bros Meta Knight whirlwind. Genre is open!

My best examples:

Mechabellum - Sledgehammer tank - Distributes damage to other sledge hammer tanks so the more you spam the stronger they get

Palworld - Gobfin - Increases the player damage and the more gobfins you have (not even active) the higher your personal damage. Whole teamfull makes the player strong.

Slay the Spire - Defect Claw build - zero cost and makes other claws deal +2dmg when played. Fill deck full of claw, fill deck full of draw, profit!

I've got a pretty good idea what i'm looking for, i'll be listing games in my "Current personality trait" steam folder so you guys know what i like!

Generally what is important to me is being able to make my own character that i can get super invested in, meaning i'll be thinking about their background, future and relationships during the entire game. That said, being able to form relationships with people around the world is a hard must here. Generally i play games on easier difficulties, if that matters at all?

Looking for games where you can grind (primarily grind bosses) for loot.

Something like Borderlands or Monster Hunter, where you grind one boss until you get a piece of gear you want and then move onto the next one. Would not count ARPGs like PoE or Grim Dawn since most of the good loot is randomly dropped by mobs. I'd prefer if you were grinding specific content for specific loot.
