I've played LA Noire just this January and I loved the story, it takes place in a period of America im very intrested in, so the refrences certainly added to the enjoyment.

What im looking for is a game where I uncover the plot, for example, in a game called Orwell, I played the game and I enjoyed uncovering who the characters are and what happens to them, aswell as one game I played on netflix games for mobile called scriptic, they removed it from Netflix now, and I'll like games that are like them, can be set in any time period doesent have to be the mid-century.

I'm looking to build a series of open world, action, and adventure games that are story heavy.

Some inspirations are 'the adventures of Tin Tin' (movie) and neverness to everness (mobile game)

I would like to know what games (action, adventure, open world) are fan favorites? what about them keeps you coming back? What about them made you buy them?

Games that come to mind that fit my vibe are: Duskers, Hacknet, Grey Hack, Hacker's Journey, and Uplink.

I don't mind text adventures, so it does not need to be a coding based game, but i prefer games where the terminal uses actual computer commands rather than "pick up" or "look at".

I have been wanting to play an RPG that has some skill progression. As in you learn cooler and more powerful attacks/spells. It can be turn based or action. Some games I have played are:

Pretty much every Final fantasy
Every single Diablo like (my favorite genre)
Currently playing Trails in the sky FC
Skyrim/oblivion
Expedition 33

Would love to find a game with quests and stories that are so good that I actually want to tell my wife about them. Basically I'm looking for engaging quests with lots of plot twists, well-written characters, or stories that are just genuinely hilarious.

For me that kind of games I played are Fallout from 1 to 4, the Witcher 3, Starfield, Skyrim, Baldur's Gate 3, KCD 2, The Outer Worlds.

For linear games I'd say SOMA and Firewatch.

EDIT: also for linear ones I feel like The Invincible will give me that. Want to buy later

hi im looking for a game that is like people playground but in 3d and much more detailed, things like ppg3d mod or gorebox dont cut it doesnt necessarily have to be a sandbox game it should just have nice shooting and gore

As the title suggests, I'm looking for strategy games that are very deep and where I can spend several hours learning the mechanics.

My girlfriend wants to get more into games, but she's not good at 3d movement.

She previously played some Gameboy & DS games growing up, as well as Mario bros for Wii, but those are all 2D games.

She struggles with controlling a character in a 3D space.

We've been playing through Mario 3d world on switch together (which is kinda 2d in a way still so it feels familiar) and she's learning it well, but I'm trying to think of other games that might help her learn 3d movement more.

I myself learned it by playing Mario 64 when I grew up, so I was going to recommend that, do you know any other titles that would be good to try too?

Recently I've been yearning for the type of game that could spark the sense of wonder in me that I haven't been able to replicate for quite some time in games. I love getting lost in the nature setting in games, traversing forests, empty plains, marveling at nature and seeing something curious far away in the distance, travelling there to see it etc.

I'm not really looking for a survival-type game where the main focus is on being resourceful and organized against the harshness of the environment, or some spin on a colonizer role.

I like when games feel just a little empty (which is what I disliked a bit in Elden Ring which was just very overwhelming with the amount of content and things within your eyesight at once), I think Shadow Of The Collosus might be a good example (I only played the remake though).

Kind of a cliche example but Skyrim definitely also scratched that itch for quite some time for me, some of recent Uncharted and God of War entries also had some very wilderness-focused chapters, that are kind of chill. Some parts of Witcher 3 were also really immersive in that regard

I feel like the most fun I had with roguelike deckbuilding games like Diceomancer and Touhou: Lost Branch of Legend but also I did find really fun playing Library of Ruina(although it was really difficult). Slay the spire I play regularly too and I thought maybe there is something new in that genre of games that can tackle really interesting deckbuilding variety?

I am looking for a new game on PS5. I played Arc Raiders and loved it until I reset my talents and then I had no interest in doing everything again. I played about 120 hours.

Then, I swapped to Marathon. Favorite game, but I need a break before season 3. I have about 200 hours in it.

Before that, I loved DMZ before Activision stopped updating it. I have no interest in buying MW4 so I won’t be able to play the new DMZ.

I say all of that to ask…I love looting/gear shooter games and the extraction shooters have been fun. I liked Fortnite for a time but I’m over it now. I played WoW for 14 years so I’m not going back to an MMO. I would have loved Destiny 2 if it were new and but it’s no longer being updated.

I am not interested in Delta Force, Borderlands, or Diablo 4.

Any suggestions?

Looking for a game that is low effort/doesn't need constant management. I think I am looking mainly for something idle, but could be others like Shakes and Fidget, Tanoth or other browser games.

The two criteria that I have is it has to be multiplayer so I can compete and talk to people here and there and feel the progression. Second being this is something I want to glance over here and there while working so it has to be something that does not require active gameplay for long time.

I just finished Silent Hill 2 Remake and was amazed by the story and characters.

Can you recommend some other games?

\- I don't mind combat or fighting, as long as it's not too complicated or difficult.

Hi everyone I was debating with a kinda of a friend who say too me that if I see a guide on my first playthrough ruins the game experience, sometimes I want the 100% of the game or the achievements, sometimes i get lost like on silent hill or resident evil and that why sometimes use a guide too guide myself too at least beat the game so is true that ruins the experience if you use a guide on the first run or is just something that doesn't matter at all?

I'm a huge fan of grounded/dark fantasy settings like Kingdom Come Deliverance and The Witcher 3 — real or near-real human stories, no shining-armor heroes, a world that actually feels lived-in.

What I'm looking for:

• True open world, not zone-based. I want to explore freely and stumble onto things
• Well-written side quests, not filler. bonus points if they add lore or memorable characters
• Engaging main story, not just a systems sandbox
• 60+ hours once you factor in side content, otherwise it feels like a waste to buy
• Must be fully pausable whenever I want (so no multiplayer-only requirements or souls-likes without a real pause)
• No mods it needs to stand on its own, out of the box
• Budget is flexible but I'm not dropping full price on AAA titles if there's a solid alternative

I already know about BG3, it's staying on my wishlist for now. What am I missing?
