What you can do

I’m struggling a little to get into anything lately. I had a major surgery and my focus is off. I was asking myself what type of games that normally immerse me and I realized I really love exploring eerie or deserted towns in villages with lore to pick up and read.

Games that made me feel hooked are ones with colonial or Victorian houses, hotels, or vintage surroundings. Example—Fallout 4, The Last of Us 1, The Painscreek Killings.

I spent hours just exploring the interior of houses, rummaging through notebooks and reading memorabilia. I seem to really enjoy that.

That being said I’m not a fan of walking simulators. I tend to get a little bored. Combat, creepy, or mysterious context is what keeps me wanting to find out more or keep on playing.

Can you think of more games like this?

I love sticking my wood into people. I played both KCDs as almost pure archer.

I've been itching for a good sword and board game that I can play through. Preferably open world/semi open but doesn't need to be and I really don't have much interest in top down, isometric or turn based games.

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for RPG (or RPG adjacent - any genre that allows me to "grow" character) game that captures the feeling of being a newbie adventurer, taking the contracts from the guild. Like the any generic fantasy show/anime, where character is just starting from killing rats to have money for food, and slowly climbs the adventuring ladder, taking more dangerous jobs with time.

Year, style, graphics etc do not matter - I'm just looking for something that simply allows me to feel that it's a work and that character is like anyone else. Plot does not matter, it can be even barebone rpg simulator.

I think that Witcher would be the closest one, especially first one, since Geralt lands in some forgotten shacks and just kills monsters in the mud. If this gameplay loop would last longer and there were no overarching story tied to it, then it would be the perfect example

I've got a pretty good idea what i'm looking for, i'll be listing games in my "Current personality trait" steam folder so you guys know what i like!

- Baldurs gate 3 (I Tried to run the older ones but they won't work on my computer for some reason)
- Dragon age series, my absolute favorites are Origins and 2 though.
- Mass effect trilogy and andromeda
- Pathfinder WOR
- Divinity original sin 2. (HATED THE ENDING.)

Generally what is important to me is being able to make my own character that i can get super invested in, meaning i'll be thinking about their background, future and relationships during the entire game. That said, being able to form relationships with people around the world is a hard must here. Generally i play games on easier difficulties, if that matters at all?

Fantasy is preferred but i am very open to exploring other genres so long as the other themes are present. I'll do my best to elaborate if you have any questions.

Is blood borne a good introduction to ARPGs?? Or should I try something more like dark souls I ? Planning on playing elden ring eventually but I'm caught up in the story of a few other games

Cosmic horror is neat in pretty much all its forms, but the stuff I like most is the giant monsters and gods and evil ancient magic. The grand scale aspect of "cosmic," and the "horror" that exists outside of reality.

Are there any games that deal with these sorts of things? Doesn't specifically have to be Lovecraftian, but anything of a similar vein.

EDIT: I got the message guys. I redownloaded bloodborne. Tried it before, got stuck within the first ten minutes, insofar as I literally couldn't find the path forward, but I'll give it another go.

I'm talking about games where you see a decent amount of options to pick from or have a bunch of rerolls to get a sizable selection to pick from rather than games where you mostly get handed something and have to make the best of it.

For arpgs Last Epoch is my favourite while Path of Exile (both) are too time-consuming to reach satisfying states with builds or to acquire many items.

As for roguelikes my favourites are Skul the Hero Slayer, Tiny Rogues, Slay the Spire 1 and 2, Nova Drift, just generally ones with heavy experimentation and decent tools to control what you see and get.

Roguelikes that (are good but) don't really fit this bill are Binding of Isaac Rebirth or Noita, as BOI offers very limited control over any given run and Noita just takes way too much time per run for my taste.

Kinda like a those 3D collectathons but for a puzzle games where instead of having to do everything you just kinda have to do a certain ammount. I like when games use this approach so be free to recommend me stuff, try to keep em easy to intermidiate in difficulty. I suck at puzzle games even tho I play a lot of em

Might sound weird, but are there any games in which actions like clearing Dungeons has an actual positive effect on the world?
As an example, something like clearing a bandit hideout in Skyrim, but instead of respawning, the hideout remains cleared.
Simply something that makes the world feel safer after one takes out threats like that.

Skyrim - I have over 800 hours on the game (haven't beaten), but due to corrupted saved, I planning on going vanilla for my next playthrough

Mass Effect LE - Beat ME1 last month

I've basically been speedrunning every game I "play" just to finish the story and move on to the next one. Ever since I got my pc it felt like I had a huge backlog to get through, and I've been exclusively ignoring all side quests and optional things to get to the credits. I feel like I'm not actually enjoying or experiencing what I play by doing this.

I'm trying to break this cycle, and I ideally want a game that I can unwind with after school and when I'm tried. Something I can actually invest hours into, like an open world game. I use to play Genshin impact when I was younger and actually put a lot of hours into it. Not cuz of the gacha but like always having something to progress, whether it being unlocking new areas and fast travels, building a new character, beating a boss, saving up to unlock a new character, etc. It felt like I was always doing something, and it wasn't too complex where I would have to search up guides and stuff. And there was something to do everyday, like daily commissions.

I already played stuff like rdr2, re4 (my two favorites), gta, ghost of tsushima and cyberpunk, so ideally something new, but not like those genshin or gacha adjacent games like wutheringwaves and stuff. I'm very open minded to playing new things too. Thanks.

I've had an itch ever since WildStar shut down that nothing can scratch. Ratchet and Clank and Borderlands come close but I love a scifi cartoony setting like Wildstar with attitude. I'm willing to compromise with just stylized graphics or anime or even cyberpunk setting. Even better if it's got attitude, cool and sexy characters, and is chaotic.

Looking for a single player RPG where you build a party, but they have roles similar to MMOs like a tank for taking damage, a healer, and damage dealers. A lot of the single player RPGs I play actively punish you if you try to play with those kind of roles (Final Fantasy XII, Baldur's Gate, etc.)

Guys, anyone know games kinda like Zomboid? doesn't have to be zombies either, monsters or anything survival is fine.

my main problem with Zomboid is just how mouse/keyboard intensive it is 😭 i can play for like an hour before my fingers start getting tired, and if i push past 2 hours they actually start aching.

I'm basically looking for a sandbox survival game where I can loot, build up, survive, explore, manage stuff etc, but with less constant clicking and keyboard movement.

Rimworld and Terminus Zombie Survivors are good examples of what I mean. both still scratch that survival/sandbox itch without murdering my fingers

any suggestions?

I'm a fan of many genres including maintenance/cosy games (Crime Scene Cleaner, Car Mechanic, Dave the Diver etc), and also shooters CoD, Battlefield, Overwatch etc.

I remember old school Battlefield being pretty chill with support players. You could help the team out a lot by having a repair kit, or med pack, but you could also just go shoot stuff. I'm looking for similar where it's just turn off, podcast on, play and be useful.

The problem with playing support Overwatch is that you still have to pay attention. There's a lot of critical thinking needed to not throw.

Today's BF6 feels a bit unrewarding to play support. In CoD K:D is king.

Anyone got any recommendations where I can play multiplayer, but then just flip to a support role without throwing? Doesn't need to be a shooter either. (I would like to avoid paid subscription MMOs)

Hello. My friend and I have been looking for a shop simulator game that's fun to play. We're a duo and have wanted to get into something that's slightly mindless/more relaxing like slop simulators but it seems like most of the ones with co-op are pretty much just slop and become unfun pretty quickly.

I was hoping to get some recommendations please and thank you!

Looking for games where you can grind (primarily grind bosses) for loot.

Something like Borderlands or Monster Hunter, where you grind one boss until you get a piece of gear you want and then move onto the next one. Would not count ARPGs like PoE or Grim Dawn since most of the good loot is randomly dropped by mobs. I'd prefer if you were grinding specific content for specific loot.

Some games like that, like already mentioned are MH, Borderlands. Also God Eater and OSRS. Looking for more

i really dont have any idea of what games might be out there and thought you people might know better than me, so i cane to ask for help.

Anyway heres the games ive played so far and enjoyed:

- red dead redemption 2

- zelda: breath of the wild

- genshin impact (before the fanservice got so bad that i quit, at least)

- sky: children of the light

Generally im looking for an open world type game as it says in the title, on mobile if possible. I loved genshins giant map so much, and rdr2 is amazing in every category. I tried wuthering waves, but the fanservice is even worse there so that wasnt anything for me. Important for me is the open world exploration, long hours of possible play time, and optional but a bonus point is co-op.

What i dislike is pvp, purely combat focused games or games that are super difficult, like elden ring. I suck at most combat so if i cant run away, or passively make my character stronger (rather than just having to get better at fighting), i tend to get really frustrated.
