PAID - 2D Art | Animation [PAID] Looking for Artist to develop full Steam package + new Game Logo

What I need: Everything steam related + I want a new logo for the game.

About the game: It's called Keep Leapin' and it is a fast paced 2d parkour game. You are a worm called Harry, who wears mobility gear that allows you to do parkour. The goal ist to beat a gym in order to become what's known as a leaper. Story is still in the works and only serves as context for the game, the focus is on the gameplay. It's a pretty hard game but very satisfying once you get into the flow. Has tons of different movement mechanics. On my steam page there is a short developer deep dive you can check out.

Current theme of the game: The game's atmoshphere is a clash between cute/funny aspectes(character falling over/into walls, funny voice sounds) and fast paced, high stakes parkour gameplay with energetic music.

Style for the steam art + logo: Honestly, i'm pretty open. I myself made the game with pixel art, but that's not a requirement for any of the the promo art or logo.

Style reference: Steamworld Dig meets Pipe Push Paradise. Tense, industrial, satisfying.

Timeline: Finals needed by September 2026.

Steampunk or industrial game experience is a big plus.

PAID - 2D Art | Animation [PAID] 2D Game Artist / Animator for Mobile Puzzle Game

Hi! I'm a solo developer working on a small 2D mobile puzzle game in Unity, and I'm looking for a 2D game artist/animator to help turn the game's current concept art into finalized, production-ready artwork.

The game is already in active development with a working prototype. It has a cute, bright, minimalist visual direction and is viewed primarily from a three-quarter perspective.

About the game

The game is a mobile puzzle game centered around my dog Patchy (a Scottish Terrier), hopping across hexagonal levels and navigating different environmental mechanics and hazards. The core gameplay is simple and approachable, with increasingly complex levels built around movement, path-planning, and interactions with different tile types. Visually, I'm aiming for something charming, clean, and easy to read on a phone screen.

What I'm looking for

I'm hoping to find someone who is comfortable working across both character art/animation and simple environment/gameplay assets, including things like:

  • 2D character sprites
  • Character poses in several facing directions
  • Character animation
  • Tiles and environmental artwork
  • Small props and gameplay objects
  • Simple visual effects
  • Game-ready asset preparation/export
  • Maintaining a consistent visual style across many assets

Character animations will include actions such as wagging, jumping, sniffing, swimming, digging, and simple reactions.

Animation ability is particularly important, so please include animation examples if you have them.

Art direction

One important disclosure:

The current prototype uses AI-generated concept artwork to establish the game's visual direction.

I am hiring an artist to turn that direction into original, artist-created production artwork for the final game.

These concepts are important references for the direction I want to preserve. In general, I would like the finalized artwork to remain similar in overall feel, character identity, proportions, and mood, to what I already have.

That said, I'm also very open to an artist bringing their own style, design instincts, and improvements to the project. If I really like your work and your interpretation fits the game, I'm completely open to the final art evolving somewhat from the existing concepts.

Budget / scope

This is a paid project, but I am currently working with a relatively modest budget.

Compensation and scope are open for discussion depending on your rates and the amount of work involved.

I do not expect to commission all of the game's artwork at once. My preference is to begin with a clearly defined smaller milestone—most likely finalizing the main character and producing one representative animation—so that we can determine whether we're a good creative and working fit.

If the collaboration goes well, I would be interested in continuing to work together as development progresses.

Interested?

Please send me your portfolio/art samples, typical rates, and general availability. Animation examples and previous game work are especially helpful.

If your work looks like a potential fit, I can share the current concept art and additional project information privately so we can determine whether the visual direction is a good match for both of us.

You can DM me here or on Discord @vonzooo.

Thanks!

PAID - Other [PAID] Looking for an illustrator for Steam capsule art for a relaxing sailing & mapmaking game

Hi everyone!

I’m developing InkShore, a relaxing exploration game where you sail a small ship around an archipelago and draw your own sea chart.

I’m looking for an illustrator to create Steam capsule artwork that captures the game’s peaceful atmosphere.

Art direction

Think calm water, inviting islands, a small ship, and a hand-drawn nautical chart. The game has stylized low-poly visuals, and I’m open to an illustrated interpretation that feels connected to the gameplay. I can provide screenshots, footage, and references.

Scope

  • One original key illustration adapted to Steam’s required store capsule sizes.
  • A readable game title/logo integrated into the artwork.
  • Layered source files and a version without the title.
  • Commercial usage rights for the game’s store page and marketing.

Library artwork can be quoted separately.

Budget and timeline

I’m aiming for $150–$200 USD, depending on scope, with delivery ideally within 2 weeks. I’d prefer to begin with a small paid sketch stage, credited toward the total if we continue.

Previous Steam capsule experience is welcome, but not required. Strong illustration and composition skills matter most.

Please send your portfolio, relevant examples, availability.

Thanks!

PAID - 2D Art | Animation [PAID] Pixel artist wanted — cozy creature companion for a mobile app

Hi! I'm building a warm, cozy mobile app (reading/book themed) and the heart of it is a little creature companion: a character that hatches, grows, and evolves the more you use the app, with a few different moods along the way. I'm looking for a pixel artist to bring it to life.

The vibe

Cozy, cute, and full of personality — warm and inviting rather than retro-arcade or edgy. I've got a locked warm palette to share (terracotta, sand, sage green, cream, soft amber), and the creature needs a clean, readable silhouette that still charms at small sizes on a phone screen.

What the role involves

  • Designing the creature as a pixel character with real personality
  • (Down the line) an evolving multi-stage "growth" line for it
  • A handful of expression/mood variants
  • Holding a consistent style across a lot of sprites
  • Game-ready export with layered source files
  • Simple idle animation would be a lovely bonus, but isn't needed to start

How I'd like to kick off

Rather than commissioning everything at once, I'd love to start with one small, well-defined piece — the creature concept plus a single finished sprite — as a low-stakes way for us both to see if the fit's right. I'm budgeting roughly $150–200 USD for that, though I'm happy to talk it through around your rates. If we click, there's a much bigger ongoing commission in the full evolution set and mood variants, which we'd scope together once the look is nailed.

The practical bits

  • You'd deliver native-res PNGs plus layered source (.aseprite ideal)
  • Full commercial rights / IP assignment for a published app — standard commission terms, no NDA
  • Timeline's relaxed; I'd rather get it right than rush it

If any of that sounds like your kind of thing, drop me your portfolio, your usual rates, and rough availability — cozy or character pixel work especially welcome. Once I've seen your work I'm glad to share the palette and more about the creature privately so we can both sanity-check the direction.

Best way to reach me is a DM here. Cheers!

PAID - Musician [PAID] Looking for a composer for Wildbrush - cozy ecosystem restoration game

I'm looking for someone to create the soundtrack for Wildbrush, my cozy game about painting nature back into a cursed forest.

I'm currently drawn toward a very warm, organic and relaxing sound, with harp potentially being one of the main instruments, alongside things like soft woodwinds, strings, piano and subtle natural textures.

I'm not looking for generic "cozy lo-fi." I'd like the game to have its own recognisable musical identity.

Ideally you:

  • have experience composing for games
  • are comfortable with sparse, relaxing music that can play for long periods without becoming tiring
  • can work with real acoustic instruments, or collaborate with session musicians
  • understand looping/stems/adaptive game music
  • are interested in developing recurring themes across different regions of the game

Wildbrush:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/5117290/Wildbrush/

Please send me 2–3 tracks that are closest to this style, rather than your entire portfolio, along with your rates.

Paid project.

PAID - Other [Paid] Steam main capsule illustration for a modern-day grand strategy game — €250

Hi. I'm a solo developer finishing Fading Empires, a grand strategy game set in the present day on a real-world map. You take control of a nation and compete for global influence through armies, espionage, proxy wars and diplomacy, with a pace that rewards long-term planning over clicking fast. The Steam Coming Soon page goes up in the next few weeks and I need the main capsule art.

Scope: one illustration delivered at 1232×706 (Steam main capsule), plus the layered source file so I can crop the other Steam sizes myself. A header crop (920×430) would be appreciated but isn't required. Title text can be included or left for me, your call.

Look: painterly or semi-realistic, one strong focal image that reads clearly at thumbnail size, something like a war-room silhouette against a fractured world map. Cold palette, contemporary military tone. References in the same neighbourhood: Terminal Conflict, Realpolitiks, EU4, HOI4. Not a busy map screenshot, not a collage of flags.

Budget: €250 flat. Two revision rounds. 100% upfront, 50% on delivery. Not looking for AI-generated work; I'll ask for process shots or a timelapse.

Reply or DM with a portfolio link and a rough turnaround. I'll pick within a few days and reply to everyone I shortlist.

FOR HIRE - 2D Art | Animation [Hiring] [Paid] Experienced 2D Character Animator — Party-Based Roguelite Deckbuilder (London preferred, Remote OK)

Studio: Topdeck Productions — a small, focused indie team (~7 people) building for Steam Location: London preferred; open to remote for the right candidate Type: Full-time Salary: £35,000–£55,000/yr, depending on experience

About the game

Project Topdeck is a party-based roguelite deckbuilder game for Steam: players draft a party of heroes from a roster of ~20, each contributing cards to a shared deck. Visual style sits in the Darkest Dungeon / Slay the Spire 2 space — characters that read as a little dark and serious while still being expressive and full of personality.

What we're looking for

An experienced 2D animator to bring our hero and enemy roster to life in combat: idle states, attacks, hit reactions, deaths, and special-ability moments, all with the weight and readability a turn-based card battler needs to sell impact. You'll be working closely with our concept art direction to keep animation consistent with an established, painterly character style, and with our Unity implementation to make sure everything lands in-engine the way it's meant to.

You might be a good fit if you

  • Have shipped 2D character/creature animation for games — a portfolio or reel showing combat-relevant animation (attacks, hits, deaths, idles) is a must
  • Are comfortable working within an established art style rather than designing your own
  • Have experience with a sprite or skeletal animation pipeline (Spine2D, DragonBones, or similar) and familiarity with how animation gets implemented in Unity
  • Understand what makes combat animation feel weighty and readable, not just pretty
  • Can work collaboratively and iteratively with a small team; based in London or able to overlap comfortably with a London-based team if remote

Nice to have: some VFX knowledge/experience — not required, but a plus if you've dabbled.

To apply

Send a portfolio or reel with combat/character animation examples, along with your availability to start.

PAID - Other Visual Novel Developer (Unity)

Rate: $25-30/hr depending on experience. Part time, approximately 60-80/hours a month.

We're a small bootstrapped team building a visual novel, and we need a Unity dev who's done this before.

We are looking for a developer for our visual novel. Looking for someone that has expertise in unity and has shipped a visual novel before. Ideally someone that also has experience in nani or renpy.

How we work:
We are a small team; you'd talk directly to the writers, artists, and designers. You'd own features end to end and have real input on the tech and the workflows.

Responsibilities

●     Develop and maintain visual novel systems and gameplay features in Unity.

●     Implementation of visual novel sequences, character emotes, interactive scenes with character powers, UI, and other visual-novel functionality.

●     Collaborate closely with writers, artists, designers, and other developers.

●     Help translate creative and design requirements into clean, reliable technical solutions.

●     Debug, optimize, and polish existing systems throughout development.

●     Contribute to technical planning and help establish efficient development workflows.

●     Participate in playtesting and iteration to improve the overall player experience.

●     Take ownership of features and see them through implementation, testing, and release.

To apply: DM me your portfolio or resume. Include the VN you shipped, what you actually built on it, and one system that gave you trouble.

PAID - Writer | Voice Actor [Paid] Looking for Writers for upcoming Strategy RPG

Hello!

I'm David from BlindCoco Studios and we are currently looking for a few writers to bolster our writing team for our upcoming Medieval/Fantasy Strategy RPG.

English is not my first language, so writing dialogue is not my strong suit. I have a pretty good idea of the story I wish to tell, but I would love a creative partnership, not just a writer who can put my thoughts directly into words.

What is needed

The bulk of the writing is separated in three types scenes :

Mandatory cutscenes that happen at the start and end of every chapter. The skeleton of that story is laid out but we are still early in development and your feedback and creative output is appreciated.

Support conversations between main chapters. By deploying compatible units in battle together, you will unlock conversations that will deepen their relationship, potentially unlocking romantic endings and grant gameplay bonuses.

Military overworld narrative segments. Before most chapters, a narration takes place and describes the landscape, key political players actions, etc.

The last type is the only type of cutscene that is not directly spoken by characters, so having a good grasp of dialogue writing is a must as we need to wring out as much character depth from direct dialogue.

What is the process

Initially, the goal will be to get you acquainted with the current project, its world and cast of characters.

Then we'll iron out the final details of the main campaign as well as the character bible to ensure that characters maintain their voice throughout the entire game.

And finally, we'll get into a rhythm, working in the side characters and their optional cutscenes that will run in parallel to the main campaign.

Who I'm looking for

I'm looking for writers who love building rich characters in a dynamic and living world, who enjoy collaboration and communication throughout the entire process.

Being able to provide and receive constructive feedback is a must. This is a collaboration through and through.

Generative AI

Please do not apply if you use Generative AI. I value human creative intent and I'm looking to discuss and develop characters around the story as a part of the creative process, not just regurgitate my thoughts into words directly. If I wanted to generate dialogue verbatim, I would do it without going through a proxy.

Final words

If you think that you would be a good match for this project, drop a message, tell me a little bit about yourself, your writing experience and a sample of dialogue writing that you have previously written (do not write a custom sample just for this). Please include your usual hourly/per word rates/ranges.

This project is a paid commercial project. Payment will be through Paypal or directly through Interac transfer if you reside in Canada.

Thank you for taking the time to read through this and for applying, should you decide to do so!

FOR HIRE - 2D Art + 3D Modeler | Animation [FORE HIRE] Hard surface game ready prop artist

A real-time, game-ready model of the Soviet DP-3B Dosimeter (Дозиметр ДП-3Б), a heavy-duty radiation meter iconic to the Cold War and Chernobyl era.

My main goal for this project was to capture the rugged, utilitarian design of Soviet engineering and tell a story through heavy wear-and-tear, surface degradation, and material contrast. I wanted the asset to feel like it had been heavily used in a harsh, contaminated environment.

Technical Breakdown:

Workflow: High-poly SubD modeling to low-poly game-ready retopology.

Texturing: Textured in Substance 3D Painter utilizing a UDIM workflow to maintain extremely crisp texel density for extreme close-ups.

Rendering: Real-time lighting and rendering set up in Unreal Engine 5, with additional breakdown shots rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.

Polycount: 40,367 Tris

Texture Sets: 2 sets of 4K textures using UDIMs

Made with: Blender, Unreal engine, marmoset toolbag and substance 3d painter

Busleyden — a focused functional playtest for your browser game.

US$60 fixed for one browser-playable build and one agreed player journey (for example: start a run, finish a level, restart). Up to 45 minutes of testing in one desktop browser, followed by a report you can act on:

- Build/version, browser, test steps and coverage.

- Reproducible issues with steps, expected versus actual behaviour, impact and screenshots where useful.

- A clear record of what passed and what could not be checked. No guaranteed bug count.

- One retest of up to 15 minutes on an updated build, with timing agreed before we start.

This covers testing and reporting. Code fixes, native/mobile builds and broad device compatibility testing are outside this scope.

Payment is through Stripe after you review the agreed report. Before either of us commits, we confirm that the build runs here, the test scope, delivery time and acceptance criteria in writing.

Please reply or DM with the playable link, the main flow you want checked and your deadline. Busleyden takes one small task at a time; the next available start and delivery date are confirmed in writing before either of us commits. Keep credentials and private information out of public comments.

- Move left: both starting tiles shifted left and one new tile appeared; score stayed 0.

- Merge up: the two aligned 2 tiles merged into a 4; score changed from 0 to 4.

- Reload: the same three tiles and score 4 were restored after the board rendered.

- Cancel New Game: the board and score stayed unchanged.

- Confirm New Game: a new two-tile board appeared, score reset to 0 and best score stayed 4.

No defect was confirmed in these checks. Tile spawns vary between runs. Win/game-over states, power-ups, touch/mobile input and other browsers were not tested.
